Portugal played the best football of the tournament and England played negatively. Portugal had something like 30 shots on target and England had only 7. Th

at last minute goal by Sol Campbell was disallowed because of Terry's obstruction and push on the goalie. In those sorts of situations the goalie will always get the decision in his favour. That goal and the portugal counter attack was a re-run of what happened in the England - Argentina match in the 1998 world cup.

Did everyone think that Beckham was going to miss his penalty. He looked well nervous but you have to give the Portugal goalie credit, not only did he save vassel's penalty but then went on the score the winning penalty.

naah, that goal definaltly should have been allowed because he obviolsy didnt see the goalie because he had his eyes on the ball the whole time. that goal was ours...england didnt play as well as they should have and beckham was a bit :wub: but all in all , they were aight and should have won.

Portugal were good as they had the ball posession most of the time but they didnt deserve to win ! :cool:

Gotta disagree with you. It's all about the refereeing standards in Europe. In the premiership you can get away with obstructing the referee but in Europe you can't. The goalie is heavily protected in European football and even touching the goalie is enough for a free kick.

Anyway apart from that if the goal had stood the negative team would have won and it would have been unfair on Portugal. B)
