Canada Postal has accepted a proposal by the Sikhs to publish and circulate this postage stamp

The official postage stamp release of Prof. Darshan Singh Khalsa was held today on the auspicious occasion of Nanakshahi Sumvat 542 (March 14, 2010) at Gurudwara Sikh Leher Centre in Brampton, ON, Canada.

Can Canadian Sangat advise who we can send emails to against this stamp? The Canadian postal service should know that Darshan is not a Sikh due to his excommunication, and publishing this stamp in his honour is offensive to mainstream Sikhs.

Recall that after 1984 PM Joe Clark went and blacklisted numerous mainstream Sikh groups, all in an attempt to ingratiate Canada with what was then the world's fastest growing middle class nation. With the economy of the world as it is, it's no surprise western powers are so willing to bootlick India.

darshan lal is gone and the only life support he got now is his dera ggsa up in canada. He severely probably effected by lack of income (keertan in gurdwaras). When he used to do kirtan (with more than 80% of his own twisted katha/stories), he charges gurdwara sahib over $1200 bucks plus travel charges. Give it a month or two, he will be looking a way 2 crawl back to Akal Takhat for peshi.

Btw, what exactly are the criteria to get a stamp printed? Id always thought someone has to be an extraordinary achiever to be able to get recognised like that. Why him tho? and How? I just dont get it.

I think this may be just a customisable stamp that Canada Post provides, as opposed to an official stamp http://www.canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/personal/productsservices/atoz/picturepostage.jsf
