Can someone please shed some light on this?

Another benti is to post this link on gurmat bibek so we can get more input from gursikhs. Daas would put it there but does not have an account there yet.

It is Guruka Singh " Eating Jhoota Food "

Sarbloh bibek has a meaning or bhai randhir singh ji would not have done it and starved himself. This video seems to think so different.

A simply disgraceful video. He clearly has no understanding whatsoever of bibek.

Caste discrimination is based on someone's birth, bibek is based on someone's actions.

He says following bibek makes people seperate, it does so no more than having a dastar and wearing the kakkars. Does he also think we should stop that?

People should refrain from acting as authorities on issues they have no clue about.

When talking about Guru Nanak Dev Ji's sakhi of the blood from food, he says Guru Nanak Dev Ji was doing it to teach those particular people, absolute rubbish as Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj says:

ਪਰਥਾਇ ਸਾਖੀ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਸਾਝੀ ਸਗਲ ਜਹਾਨੈ ॥

Parthā▫e sākẖī mahā purakẖ bolḏe sājẖī sagal jahānai.

Great men speak the teachings by relating them to individual situations, but the whole world shares in them.

That sakhi is proof that bibek is Gurmat, so all he can do is try to disprove that we should strive to follow it.

And on top of that hes saying Singhs ate horses when they ran out of food. Someone with such views should not be making videos, atleast on these topics. He is only correct in saying we should not eat meat.

If thats his view then its fine, as hes clearly backed it up ususal perfect logic.

I can also understand why so many of you took offence because you may follow food bibek or follow those who kept this, but really you should learn to respect other peoples view because otherwise when people get angry at those who dont believe in Raagmala then that it fine too.

So, people make up your mind? If its okay to get angry because someone has a different view to you on food, then it is ok to get angry on those who believe in different kakkars or Bani aswell.

Lets not be hypocripts, jaap naaam.

There is no problem in not believing in something or having a different intepretation, but to call someone else's Rehat "bull****" or "brahminism" is not acceptable. Those who do not read Raagmala do not refer to Raagmala as being "bull****" in that manner so your argument is void. Neither do those who believe Kesh as Rehat call the Keski "brahminism". Those who have differences in beliefs in Rehat do not belittle those who do differently to themselves. The key is to be respectful of others despite difference.

His logic was not "perfect" as by the Maryada of all Amrit Sanchars, regardless of the Panj's position on Bibek, consuming the Jhoota food of an Amritdhari is "acceptable", whilst consuming the Jhoota food of a non-Amritdhari makes one a Patit.

It is disappointing to see someone of the age of Guruka Singh resorting to foul language with regards to what many to believe to be a Gurmat Rehat. Only those who have practised Sarbloh Bibek will know its true value, however most Sikhs nowadays are either too attached to their convenient, tasty food, or do not have enough devotion and love for Gurmat to even try following this Rehat for some time.

his view is against rehtnama, guru sahibs hukam. so how is his logic right in terms of gurmat

I'm glad I didn't show my kids this. his swearing and talking about having fun with tongues is not what I would like my kids exposed to.

loads of gursikhs from baba deep singh to modern day baba gurbachan singh kept bibek sarbloh. no doubt.

gurmuksta singh has done sangat with bhai fauja singh. he use make his only prashada etc in sarbloh. interesting how peoples views change.

so why should he lie about singhs eating horses, when it is established historical fact?

someone with such biased views such as yours shouldn't be a moderator either in my opinion.

i see you shut down that other thread, when people started to question your beleiefs.

The issue I have with the video is the aforementioned 'poo-pooing' of Nihang bibek (even though he doesn't mention names). I'm surprised at how such a huge part of Sikhi could be overlooked and reduced to 'ritual' status. As I said before, I've seen a few of Gurukha Singh's other videos and he speaks a lot of sense, but I was very surprised in this instance. I guess its his opinion and nothing more.

the point of bibek is to please waheguroojee... - everything i eat is going to be food i cooked with saas giraas simran. i am not bibeki not even close... but i would never say to a bibeki that what they are doing is wrong..

i am not one of those people that bash gora sikhs concentrating more on yoga because they do more paath than i do i cant judge but this is really disturbing to see them say bibek has no meaning he is a bit too blunt about something he has no idea about..

he doesnt have to believe in it but he shouldnot be saying this (onyoutube imposing his opinion and doubts on others that listen to him) and acting as an authority..

this is beadbi!! i respect those that are bibeki!! vahegurooo...

dhan guru dhan guru pyare...

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
