Rehatnama Bhai Prahlad Singh Ji

Recommended Posts

This is said to be written in 1695 in the Christian calender which means its false since the Khalsa had not yet been manifested, nor was Guru Gobind Singh in abchal nagar at the time. The content with constant threats of hell also seems out of context in sikh teachings.

Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj also constantly 'threaten' us with hell.

I have two questions which are genuine i mean no disrespect.

It says not to wear red, why is that? Also it uses the word in gurmukhi 'jath' and in english translation as from the 'lineage' of hansrai, surely jath means caste right so why would it say that as there should be non in sikhi. Or did i miss understand? Anyway i m just curious if i have said anything wrong please tell me i will delete these statement.

It could do with the color red evokes one of the five theives in people and/or there can be some historical wrong attachments to the color red.

Guru Sahib is not saying to get into jath, but making it clear to who he is refering too? Singhs have the same last name and can have the same first names, so to clarify who he is refering to Guru Sahib mentions jath. This way when someone reads this Rehat, then there can be clear edivence who wrote it and there can't be a mix up.

In those years the armies had specific colors ... Green flags and dress was used by muslim armies in battle fields and red flags and dresses were used by hindu rajputs of north india ... and khalsa used blue ...

Colors dont have spiritual meaning but it was to physically differentiate whose who
