you are what you eat..

A lot of kumai wale Sikhs folow very strict sucham and diets.

* prepare food at home like it was langur

* recite simran whilst preparing food

* avoid chit chat whilst cooking and serving.

* Avoid spit and loose hair.

* avoid artificial colours, preservatives, excessive sugars and spices as they all have mood altering affects

* I have seen amritdharis eat from non-amritdharis but they will never eat from a kitchen where alcohol or meat is served.

* Never eat jhoot.

The first sign of human attraction is jhoot. Animals all exchange fluids when they mate or to show affection. love begins with kissing.

Jhoot breaks our spirituality and causing moh and attachment with those we share jhoot with.

Be strong in your principles. keep your diets strict.

Bad diet and being overweight is a sign of lack of discipline in your lifestyle

One time sant Gyani Gurbachan Singh ji Khalsa Bhindrawale, along with the jatha singhs, went to go meet baba ji, and baba ji was feeding or doing ishnaan i think, of the dangars (cow/buffalo), and the sevadaar told them that sant ji was here to meet them, and baba ji put down the sangal of the dangar, and grabbed a basket that had parshade in it and started giving them to the jatha. baba ji didnt wash their hands tho, they first gave 2 parshade to sant gurbachan singh ji, and sant ji knew that baba ji was pooran brahmgiani, so they didnt say anything, and just ate the parshade. but when baba ji went to give parshade to the jatha singhs, the singhs were like, "nahi ji, this is not the right maryada" and stuff like that. cuz the singhs were always tought about keeping strict sucham by sant gurbachan singh ji. but then sant ji told them to not do shanka and just take the parshade. so then each singh was given 2 parshade. and after eating the parshade, the singhs went into this vismaad anand state, as the taste of the parshade was of nothing they had ever tasted before. then the singhs asked sant gurbachan singh ji as to why they went into that vismaad state, and sant ji explained that baba ji is a pooran brahmgiani, and that anything they touch, they turn into pavitar, no matter if they wash their hands or not.

You mention rehit, although the Guru's Rehit Maryada does not mention Joot specifically it does refer to the following chastisement of Amritdharis:

q. The following individuals shall be liable to chastisement involving automatic boycott:

2. One who eats/drinks Left-overs of the unbaptised or the fallen Sikhs;

http://sgpc.net/reha...ection_six.html

I didn't find anything about giving, preparing or cooking food for Amritdharis by non-Amritdharis, only about the eating or drinking of leftovers.

I get the concept of Jhoot, but the above link and quote isnt all that clear. I thought Amritdharis cant eat drink anything jhootha, but the link above suggests you can eat jhoota food if its from an amritdhari. If a non amritdhari has left something you cant eat it but you can if you eat left over of an amritdhari. Or did I misinterpret it?

Also bibeki I understand, but I have met Amritdharis who arent bibeki but say they will never eat food or drink prepared by non amritdharis but they are happy enough to drink coke etc. and eat processed vegertarian food like bread, chesse etc. which are made by non sikhs?

The first sign of human attraction is jhoot. Animals all exchange fluids when they mate or to show affection.[\b] love begins with kissing.

Jhoot breaks our spirituality and causing moh and attachment with those we share jhoot with.

Eh?...Animals all exchange fluids when they mate or to show affection?

Exchange?...that denotes a two way process....but mating is one-way...during mating fluid goes from the male to the female....in animals (not humans) what fluid exchange goes the other way?

If such fluid exchange in mating is Joot then all humans are the results of Joot..(i.e. sex)...an act (according to you) that breaks our spirituality and causing moh and attachment.

So all Guru's, Saints, and Bhagat who had children, their spirituality was broken because of the fluid exchange during sex?

What a load of bollocks!

Also according to your logic, if fluid exchange is jhoot which breaks our spirituality, then when a mother breast feeds her child, that will break her spirituality has well.

Now come to think of it, what about cow's milk...will drinking that break our spirituality if we drink that animal fluid?

What about all the bacteria and other organisms in your gut that are exchanging fluids with you....are they breaking your spirituality and causing moh and attachment in you?

If Joot is so bad then the warrior Khalsa should be banned from swimming...we don't want fluid exchange do we?...it's Joot...it'll 'break our spirituality and causing moh and attachment'!!!

If the Khaksa army ever come across a river then they wouldn't be able to swim across...can't risk getting fluid exchange from this fishes that live in the water!!

Without the Guru's Grace, how can logic and contemplation be bestowed?

And without logic and contemplation, how can the darkness of ignorance be dispelled?

Huh?

I know married amrithdaree partners that have jooth.

I thought it's ok for amrithdaree couples to have each others jooth, as they are embarking on that spiritual path together.

its just hygiene, and its not just amrit-dharis that don;t eat jooth. also jooth doesn't just apply to food these days, also applies to partners!

In the Amrit ceremony, the participates drink from the same bowl, so what about hygiene then?...anyways that shows that jhoot doesn't apply to partners.

Amritdharis can eat and drink from the same bowl as other Amritdharis.

Once you realise that the real Jhoot to stay away from is the five vices you might then start progressing in your life.

Are you kidding me?

What a load of pants!

So what about in our past lives, we don't know about our past lives and how many partners we have had. If that was the case then everyone is considered jhoota lol

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
