I feel that the PPP should win as we all know how the Akalis and Congress have failed the people of Punjab. Up until now the voting in Punjab favours the two parties but now there is an opportunity for people to test the waters with Manpreet Badal. Let's face it what has anybody got to lose?

The unfortunate thing is that I really would like a pro Khalistan Party to win but this will not happen as nobody in Punjab wants to entertain the thought. Maan is a good clean person but an awful politician with no direction. He should have approached Daljit Singh Bittu group and Manpreet Badal and the three should have formed a coalition based on Anna Hazares anti corruption policies to win over the public.

The likelihood of PPP alone winning the election is slim but it will inflict damage to Badal Akali Dal but in the process will also inflict damage to Congress votes too. What would have been a victory for Congress in this election may play into the hands of Badal now with a third party.

My only hope is the PPP wins enough seats so that Congress or the Akali Dal will have to form a coalition with the PPP. Similar to the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats in the UK where the least popular party became the most important player in parliament.

Daljit singh bittu group is creation of congress. PPP is going to face the biggest debacle.I was in Punjab till yesterday and commies are a spent force.

Look anandpur sahib resolution clearly mentions socialism ideology as way to go. If you have issue with that, take it up with people who made anandpur sahib resolution and people who supported it and laid their lives for it. Capitalism is definitely is not a sikh way of life, thats for sure.

I never said that sikhism should follow capitalism.Why do you think that sikhism should follow flawed systems of the world whether

capitalism or defunkt socialism..Had these systems been perfect there would not been rampant misery in this world.Socialist countries

have become begging nations of the world. Capitalism does not care for less fortunate ones.

Sikhism has its own original way where stress is on leading a life vibrating with naam, work hard and share your earnings with less

fortunate ones.

In PPP you will find anti religion elements ruling land of our Gurus. Of course they will not win anything.

PPP are the party that will most damage Sikhism, they are too closely alinged to the Commies and willl focus on issues at the cost of Sikhi or any other religion.

Congress - could never support a party, on principle, that has within its membership, those people that were involved in the massacre of innocent Sikhs in Noc 1984 (none have been expelled), even though they may have sound policies.

Akali Dal Amritsar - In principle should get the vote based on panthic and Khalistan issues, however Mann Sahib is not a good politican. This party should continue and try to get all Khalistanis on board. It is Mann Sahib's ego that is in the way. The SNP in Scotland had no or little support at the start, they continued on their path, changed some policies but stuck to the principle of an Independant Scotland and are know the majority and in power in Scotland.

Of all the evils, the lesser evil is SAD Badal, so it gets might my support.

Look at the statements of congress. Amarinder says that sehajdharis should be given voting rights in SGPC.

he made a statement few days back that keeping hair was a tradition of 15th century. Now sehajdhari party

is supporting comgress. Who are sehajdharis? They are the ones who are not from sikh parents. Congress

will also damage sikhism as tey did eralier by creating nirankaris etc.

The thingis the Akali's were around in 84 as well and they did not do anything then or up to know to help the Sikhs out. So are they any better than the congress, I really doubt it, same games just people with big beards and sikhi talk language.

PPP - Pakhand party of punjab, let's be serious, it's only a game by manpreet because he isn;t getting what he wants, as another poster noted he did break the amrit vows so why trust him - aren't these the basic rules of sikhi.

No party in punjab is any good, there are all the same old thinking which is make a fool of people and once elected blame the other party's and fill up ones and ones supprters bank/properties/favours.

Once the people wake up, then a difference will be made. We all know how bad everybody is yet they still vote them in and support them. Are people stupid or what?

Some of my in laws are from the akali party and are amridhari and freely give out drugs and alcohol during elections, and believe me everybody does it without shame..............lets me practical about the reality of this.

So many years have gone by and there still isn't proper water and seweg and garbage disposal and electricity , etc, etc and the list goes on. Nobody is working for punjab - all of this could have been fixed like the western world many decades ago, but nobody cares.......lets be serious guys...........however wins its the same old <banned word filter activated>

Also look at <banned word filter activated> Canadian ex MP Ruby Dhalla camaigning for Gill (Akali Dal) in India. A no-good, 2 faced, useless MP that was disgraced here in Canada goes to India and becomes a celeberty......what do you expect from such parties?
