Sorry for confusion singh but I m not blindly promoting PPP nor I am blindly endorsing PPP. I like the ideas and activism spirit they offer. I support their ideas and principles. As soon as they sway away from their ideas and principles. I will not support them anymore.

Look all i m saying, if people of punjab are only given three choice - Akaali Dal, Congress and PPP to pick from. Benefit of doubt should be given to PPP as they never been in the power, power is always between congress and akaali dal. Based on that fact and looking at their ideas and principles, PPP should be given chance.

I am not that gullible that i will get blindly influence by listening to few speeches from manpreet badal and i can understand people cynicism and skepticism against politicians of punjab regardless of the party. By keeping public opnion in mind that all are crooks, i gave an simple example below, just to reiterate-

Lets assume all three party are crooks will rob you, but just because they are all theives or crooks and will rob you, you don't go vote for theif who are quite expereinced, but you vote for less experienced thief to minimize impact until someone comes with ethics who can take care of punjab and its people.

Your post regarding sikhi not support socialism is bit contradictory as principle of vad chakna, kirat karo are main pillars of socialism. Yes, sikhi does not support point to point organized socialism but lean more towards democratic socialism.

Anyway thats a different topic all together, socialism is broader subject. Socialism in sikhism are from divine and promotes humanity and came first before any organized socialism on paper.

We need to understand duties of CM of punjab and understand duties of Sri Akaal Takth Sahib Jathedars. I believe we are confusing the two here in this thread.

We can all agree punjab is multicultural soceity. CM of punjab is not there to serve only sikh interest. As i mentioned earlier, as much we like sikh monarch times, the fact is times have gone. People of punjab live in democratic society.

All your points would have been valid, if this was election for jathedar of Sri Akaal takth sahib or even SGPC board members. But this election is about who will be CM of punjab? Representing its janta- sikh or not sikh alike.

There is no provisioning in Sri Akal Takht Sahib maryada which defines the role of CM of punjab. So you cannot expect CM of punjab to serve only sikh interest.

Cm of punjab supposed to address and fix broader issues i.e - economy, clean water, energy, agriculture, jobs, increasing GDP, foreign investment etc.

Also your post regarding him visiting dera sacha sauda to beg votes..thats normally politician do..thats their job, it be political suicide if does not.all dera followers vote would be gone..I would be outraged if our jathedar sahiban did or sgpc board members visited him but cm? no issue there..he is a politician, the fact akali dal, congress visited him..i don't see much issue. They will all do that for votes, they will make gadda as their father if it comes to their seat.

See this discussion is not about picking ppp over congress or akali dal because they are revolutionary and best party ever.., its about picking lesser crook than an experienced one to minimize impact on people of punjab.

Anyway at the end of day, sikhs wouldn't be even concerned about election of punjab if sgpc did their job properly with 200 crore annual revenue they make, helping sikhs in punjab. If sikhs in punjab get help from SGPC then all this election wouldn't matter at the first place...so lets even forget about this election, there is lot of house cleaning we as panth (unit) have to do.

We have sri akaal takth sahib to address and fix panthic issues. They do have power, with annual revenue budget of 200 crore, panthic issues can get solved if they want to without any help from CM.

There was a news in the newspaper of yesterday that bittu group i.e. panch pardhani and ek noor khalsa have declared their support for

Congress.

Bittu group is in alignment with Dal khalsa.You may be knowing credentials of dal khalsa.

They have aligned themselves with congress because they feel thats he bette evil and the best way to over come punjabs problems saying that he is a creation of congress itself is a much bigger insult and taking away a great deal of respect. Why if hes their creation has he been stuck inside a cell for so long? dont tell me his so called masters couldnt get hm out if he was one of their own ... personally i think hes doing what HE thinks is right for the panth and he has the right to do so but saying hes a creation of congress is a very big insult ... without the proof its like e saying badal is creation of the british gov or PPP is a creation of Badal etc

It doesnt matter which political party wins. There is an over-arching nationwide govenmental conspiracy against Sikhi by Brahmins. The attacks on Sikhism will continue as the punjab politicians are accountable to Delhi.

Wake up, you cannot expect politician to have morals, only thing they are- opportunist, dipsticks and ones who will do anything to appease their superiors. Despite of all that, some of the good things come out from there leadership not necessarily they want to do good things but they do it to stay in power. This is exactly the case in punjab election. PPP never came in power, if they win, they will try to do good things to (not because they want to or its right thing) but they would to stay in power, other parties like- akaali dal or congress don't give a damn about it anymore, they have already had their prime times.

Your reasoning in the post reminds of canadian sikh reaction of navdeep bains(liberal mp)- amritdhari singh went to india and pay its respects to monument of indira gandhi. He would be doomed if he did and doomed if he didn't as cannot put his own beliefs in front when he representating Canadian and multicultural society.

Sikh Monarch politics and dharam goes hand in hand but politics representing diverse group and dharam does not go hand in hand thats the reason state and religion should be separate, if a politician who is supposed to be representing diverse groups in his riding but instead serve his own community interest only, then he shouldn't be politician at the first place.

We sikhs should be more concerned about elections at SGPC or at Sri Akaal Takth Sahib. That is our Vatican. As i said previously, amount of revenue they make in a year that could address all the daring issue our panth faces.

Let the cm of punjab deal with broader issues i.e - economy, clean water, energy, agriculture, jobs, increasing GDP, foreign investment then forcing them to deal with internal issues in the panth.

Keep them separate, that's our best interest.
