3 points I would like to make

  1. The same police never so much as slapped angry hindu mobs on the wrist when they were burning sikhs alive [84] or muslims [2002]
  2. Police could have used Tear gas / rubber bullets or fired gun shots in the air to disperse the singhs.
  3. India spends millions on state of the art weapons, can't it spend like one million dolloars to train its riot police ?

The real reason is Badal/BJP/Shiv Saina wanted to send a message all across punjab (and maybe all over India) - that if you gather and raise voice, you will be brutally and ruthlessly crushed.

India's emergence as an economic power and a contender on the world stage is a very, very big and worrying problem for Sikhs.

Kalyugi -- I trade international markets - so i kind of know how strong india really is at present -- your statement is a common belief given out to us in the media. The reality is different - india and all asian econmies willbe crashing soon my friend without a doubt. They are trying to create their own world bank - they haven't a hope in hell. They will come crawling to the west in the future. Alpha male is America and always wil be - these piss poor asian countries have a mindset of a child as Once Sant maskeen jee said - they will stay where they are in that process. What we need to do is become financily so strong so we can buy PUNJAB. - but that is light years away.

and to give u a taster - marriot hotel opened up in chandigarh two years ago - and now it is closing - no more customers - will be monument for us to see when we visit.

Sorry to say this .. but you are as racist as those shiv sainiks.

It is this very view that exists amongst certain section of Sikh community that is leading to their present turmoil. For example, this very attitude that a certain section spouts that the real players are the gorey, and rest are bystanders is the byproduct of the century odd of gora racism that the colonials had to endure.

In the fight to find justice for the sikhs, sincerely hope that you do not resort to such false crutches and straws of hope, such as gora ummrikka is the real alpha dogs and rest are zerrows.

Hopefully so, brother. I get my information from the likes of The Guardian and the Times, and we're constantly told about the rise of the Chinese and Indian economies and how the West will coming begging to them in the future. I'm not a financial expert by any means so I'll obviously cede to your interpretation of the facts.

From a personal, Sikh perspective I see how brazen India have been in dealing with Sikhs and I get worried about how worse it'll get when they actually have some bustle behind the hustle! An India not afraid of international recrimination is an India to be feared. When India is working with the West for the benefit of Western purposes (trade contracts, etc) they will be beyond reproach.

    • This is where the vichola needs to get involved, and family!
    • Hi All, I havent been on this forum for a while but I thought id give it a try again as it helped me through some rough times earlier in my life. I wanted to seek for guidance on sikhi and marriage ... I noticed a post earlier on sanjog etc. and it got me thinking about my own life and marriage. For context, I have been married 3 years and things are not working out. When we met, I looked in to sanjog alot and it felt like it was written. However, as these years have gone by its become apparent that we no longer align with each other and our marriage is struggling. We dont seem to understand each other and things have fallen apart. We are at a stage now where separation/divorce is looking like the best option. Neither of us are happy and whilst we have tried to work things through in many different ways, after 3 years we have drifted away. What are the sikh views on this? is it written if we decide that we no longer serve each other? or is that a sin and should I continue to work at it? my issue at the moment is that it is draining me. I feel withdrawn from everything due to things going on between us including sikhi and going to the gurdwara.  Breaks my heart to even be writing this but I do think if we are both not happy and cant see a way of being happy then what is the point in continuing? Or should I be continuing and is it paap if we dont honour our laavan? if that is the case, what does sikhi say about marriage? how do I continue knowing everyday I feel the way I do?   Thanks

    • I'll use this place as my spiritual journal so if anyone wants to join then feel free to! I'm not sure if this could be classed as an experience but last week (or 2 weeks ago), I felt my saliva to be sweet however I lost it after a week. I don't really regret it though, if I lost it then it's Hukam Another point, I feel my concentration to be very good for a while, I can focus on the void for a longer period of time than I could before. I also feel a lot more Anand, it's all Guru di kirpa
