take your kara off for them too. who cares if you get suspended again. this is guru sahibs dastar....dont allow anyone to do beadbi of it.

maalton, you make it out to be so easy to just take your kakar off and hit somebody. Just like its Gurujis distar, its also his kara too. By hitting someone with it is disrespecting the Guruji. As a Sikh, we are only allowed to defend ourselves within the same power, so unless he or she hits you with a blunt metal object, i suggest you keep your kara on your wrist.

I dont mean to be disrespectful, but Sikhs of today are physically weak compared to what they should be, and there is no denying this. There is a alot of talk about what people are going to do in the battle for Khalistan and in the jungs, but there is little done when it comes to these smaller matters.

An simple suggestion is to become stronger as an indivual so you are easily able to defend yourself without reliance on anyone else. That is the easiest way out of it.

You can argue that its a Sikhs right to practice his religion freely, and it should be that way. But remember that we are still living in their country, like it or not. As much as we dont want to admit it, that is the reality of things. We have made alot of progess and theres alot left to be made. However, lets not turn the whole movement backwards and ruin what the sikhs before us worked so hard for. If the same kakars we fought s

o hard to wear in the schools, are used as weopans, do you think we will be given any more freedoms? One bad apple can and will spoil the whole bunch.

The point of this discussion should be to help this guy out, not to get him in further trouble.
