Picture gave me chills. I'm sure there is more history related to this.

Does anyone know more about this photograph and how these Sikhs ended up fighting for the Union? They were obviously British soldiers, but does anyone know where this photograph may have had been taken? I'm assuming it was in USA after the victory of the Northern states and Abraham Lincoln.

Just goes to show how important it is to be historically well read. This picture reminds me that we know so little and there is so much more to look at if we want to preserve our vast and rich history.

If we can properly assess and learn from our past, we can use it to empower ourselves for the future.

I've this picture before, from what I remember it is thought to be taken in 1917 to welcome American troops coming to England to fight in the first world war. The picture is of british veterans who fought on the Union side. I think it should be analysed by an expert on photoshop just incase someone isn't trying to hoodwink Sikhs.

The original must be out there as well, I think this was taken from an archive of some sort, not sure which one though.

This doesn't look like a photoshop at all.

Can you please clarify what you mean by "The picture is of British veterans who fought on the Union side". Does that mean all these individuals were British soldiers that were in the past employed in the USA to fight for the union under Lincoln's presidency?
