ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ, ਕੋਰੀ, ਗਾਗਰਿ ਆਨੈ, ਲੀਪਤ ਜੀਉ ਗਇਓ

ਨਿਤ= daily ਉਠਿ =Rise

ਕੋਰੀ= Hindu Julaha(Hindu Weaver) The meaning is from Mahan Kosh by Sardar Kahn Singh Nabha

ਗਾਗਰਿ =pot of water, ਆਨੈ=brings

ਲੀਪਤ= Cleans the floor. actually it is called "Gauti Marna in punjabi" sort of doing white-wash or applying a thin layer of cow dung to the ground.

ਜੀਉ = life ਗਇਓ= Wasting.

Kabeer ji rises daily early in the morning and brings pot of water because that time there were wells(source of water),which were shared source of water for a locality so one has to bring water from that source, cleans the floor and wasting his time in these things.

In hindi its Called Atishyokti Alankar means you poses a very big picture of small thing, here in this shabad it is used in negative sense. This is my view :biggrin2:

The things Kabeer Sahib ji is doing, bringing water and cleaning floor are work to be done by his mother and he is sort of helping his mother by doing those things, yet his mother is angry and calling him HINDU, Why?
