Got this good video from facebook ..i thought i share:

Long hair and beard are true nishani of ancient santan dharma (umbrella of indic mystical orders) before some buddhist school of thoughts influence ancient india - bought idol worship and bought shaving in India - made everyone look like slaves..!!

However to give credit where its due, not all buddhist orders believed in shaving, i was at buddhist temple in mississuaga where we visited hertiage/ancient display hall, they have many keshdhari buddhist , also keshdhari buddhist sumarie pictures there.

Actually brahmans did this, old school Buddhists before they were kicked out by brahmans were all keshadhaari.

Most brahmans of old were shaved. Brahmanism and hindu thought is what influenced Buddhists to begin shaving and idol worship.

People of all faiths around the world had kesh.

Not sure veer. All the rishis were Brahmins and had both kesh and beard. Kesh were removed much later as a sign of slavery I think.

I see, that sounds logical as well, but I'm pretty sure buddhists of old all had their kesh. Just like the Samurai in old Japan and Native Americans of the Americas.

Guess would need historic sources to verify this.

Sri Krishan is called Keshav, he had long hair.

In ancient time when one was to be insulted his hair was cut, if I am not wrong Sri Krishan cut hair of a person in Mahabharat.

It was after Mahabharat people started cutting their hair.

I have read Mahatma Budh was meat-eater but most of the budhist denies it.

Krishna married Rukmini by abducting her from the Vidarbha kingdom, though Rukmi wanted to give her as bride to Chedi king Shishupala. He fought with Krishna, but was defeated. When Krishna was about to kill him, Rukmini fell at Krishna's feet and begged that spare her brother's life. Generous as always, Krishna agreed and let Rukmi go free, but not before having his head shaved as a shameful visible sign of a warrior's defeat.

Rukmi never returned to his capital Kundinapuri in Vidarbha. Instead he created another capital called Bhojakata to the west of Kundina and started ruling the country from there.

Rukmi later became friends with Krishna. However Rukmi was not accepted by Arjuna or Duryodhana as an ally in the Kurukshetra War, because of his boastfulness. Thus Rukmi's Vidarbha army stayed away from the Kurukshetra War, becoming a neutral army in the encounter between the Kauravas and the Pandavas.
