The Role Of The Dharamsala/gurudwara?

Recommended Posts

Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh,

Really love your posts neo veerji - thank you once again.

So essentially centres of learning...Gurmat maryada, dharm vidiya, brahmgyan, shaster vidiya, jang vidiya, raajneeti...

How many of us can honestly say our local Gurudwaras are like this?

Where/when did things go wrong?

I have no hopes for gurdwaras these days and have no desire to change old tribal ways of our leaders,..we must focus on task at hand, more focus on negative in gurdwaras will make us bitter and loose our focus, there is no point changing gurdwaras..start your own individual parchar with good/pure intentions with ardas infront of guru maharaj..and guru maharaj will make it flourish...every gurdwaras in west started off very small like place as small as tent..if you want good pratical example...seek inspiration from basic of sikh bhaaji which turned negative lack of parchar gurdwara into positive role by using internet as medium as parchar as far real life place goes...start from everywhere and anywhere. ..!!

Gurdwara sahib should have one simple goal and that is keep sangat together and attached with gurbani.

They are ok in putting sangat together by having various events such as nagar Kirtan but mostly they fail to help sangat in making link with gurbani/waheguru.

In my personal viewpoint I think gurdwara sahib should have qualities of both taksal (katha/saantjiyaa) and akj ( naam sinran/Kirtan).

    • This is where the vichola needs to get involved, and family!
    • Hi All, I havent been on this forum for a while but I thought id give it a try again as it helped me through some rough times earlier in my life. I wanted to seek for guidance on sikhi and marriage ... I noticed a post earlier on sanjog etc. and it got me thinking about my own life and marriage. For context, I have been married 3 years and things are not working out. When we met, I looked in to sanjog alot and it felt like it was written. However, as these years have gone by its become apparent that we no longer align with each other and our marriage is struggling. We dont seem to understand each other and things have fallen apart. We are at a stage now where separation/divorce is looking like the best option. Neither of us are happy and whilst we have tried to work things through in many different ways, after 3 years we have drifted away. What are the sikh views on this? is it written if we decide that we no longer serve each other? or is that a sin and should I continue to work at it? my issue at the moment is that it is draining me. I feel withdrawn from everything due to things going on between us including sikhi and going to the gurdwara.  Breaks my heart to even be writing this but I do think if we are both not happy and cant see a way of being happy then what is the point in continuing? Or should I be continuing and is it paap if we dont honour our laavan? if that is the case, what does sikhi say about marriage? how do I continue knowing everyday I feel the way I do?   Thanks

    • I'll use this place as my spiritual journal so if anyone wants to join then feel free to! I'm not sure if this could be classed as an experience but last week (or 2 weeks ago), I felt my saliva to be sweet however I lost it after a week. I don't really regret it though, if I lost it then it's Hukam Another point, I feel my concentration to be very good for a while, I can focus on the void for a longer period of time than I could before. I also feel a lot more Anand, it's all Guru di kirpa
