im having trouble choosing a career in life and my parents keep hounding me to do something fast but nothing really interests me ! Ive graduated and everythin from highschool 2 years ago but i just feel lost also i believe waheguru will help me find my path... but i think just waiting for sumthin to happen aint gunna help me! plz help out a brother thats feelin abit lost!

Hi,

So you left school after your GCSE's (Assuming your based in the UK)?

Do you have any hobbies? What types of things do you enjoy doing?

Do you socialise well with strangers?

Would you not consider doing A'Levels or something equivalent (Again, assuming youre based in the UK)?

take a look at what skills you are good at

look at what skills you like using

the intersection of the two provides a whole range of career opportunities to explore, the idea being that you will enjoy your job more and do better at it if you are using your strengths.

also, look back in life at when you are at your most content/ happiest. the skills used in those moments could give hints into what type of career might be best for you.

once you come up with some ideas it owould be helpful to schedule informational interviews with people in those fields, maybe even job shadow them for a day or two when you start getting serious about it.
