Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Bhai Harbhajan Singh was a great soul. As some of the members said his greatest contribution was to bring thousands of non-Punjabis into Sikhi. This was the first time since the times of the Gurus that large numbers of non-Punjabis took to Sikhi and their presence has brought a new dimension of universality to Sikhi. Bhai Harbhajan Singh carried the message of Sikhi to the USA and his loss is a loss to the entire Sikh world. I congratulate this forum for creating such an eyecatching and graceful banner in honour of Bhai Sahib. If only we Sikhs could be unted at all times and not just at times such as these.

waheguru ji ka khalsa

Waheguru ji ki fateh

Read your condolences. It is ok to do that.

But what good he did for Sikhi? You probably don't really know his reality.

Bhai Harbhajan Singh was a great soul

Great souls don;t drive in Bentleys and Mercedes and live in Multi million dollar palaces.

It is amazing that how much of Sikh nation is unaware about the anti practices he did and rather than condemning this, everybody unknowingly in singing praises of him. We talk about "Sant Babas" in Punjab here here we have one "baba" who has delusioned much of the Sikhs.

To my surprise no body responded to my post. Yogi was one of those rich people who didn;t voice when sikhs were being killed in India. Also look at his blasphemy and this is just a drop in ocean of what he did.

On Full Page Advertisement by Mr. Yogi

January 27, 1989

Dear Editor,

Many uncomfortable thoughts developed in my mind after reading the full page advertisement by Mr. Yogi.

The first thing which struck my mind was the unique combination of Khalsa, Yogi and a Christian in one personality. It is, to me, an impossibility. One cannot be a believer of Lord Jesus, Guru Gobind Singh and Yoga at the same time.

The philosophy of Yogis was rejected by the Gurus and Bhagats. One can find numerous Shabads in the Guru Granth Sahib to that effect. Japji, required to be read daily by a Sikh, emphatically advises a yogi to give up yoga rituals and instead adopt Gurmat (Pauris 28 – 31).

A genuine yogi is he who loves all people as his equals (and not he who practices yoga). Ayer Panth is the highest sect of yogis. A yogi cannot be a Sikh, as a Jew cannot be a Christian, one cannot be both at the same time.

Secondly, we are told in the advertisement that 1989 will be a year of “God in blessing.” According to Sikh faith, God is always blessful and merciful. It is we who lose his blessings by turning our faces away from him. To believe that God was not merciful in 1988 (or earlier), but will be in 1989 is anti-Sikh

thought. Those who worship days, dates, or years, believing them to be good or bad, are fools.

Mr. Yogi is trying to tell us that God observes Christian calendar to bless his people because no other calendar makes figure 9 this year. Only a Christian having faith in Christ as the only begotten son of God can believe that. Further his belief that 9 represents God is against the Sikh faith. Guru Nanak Dev used the figure one (as in Ek Oangkar), to represent God. If we agree with Mr. Yogi, 1980, which is also divisible by 9, should have been good for us. During this year, the Sikh Government in Punjab was dismissed by the Delhi Raj and murders of Sikhs were started by the army and police. The destruction of the Golden Temple and massacre of Sikhs was planned by the Government in this year.

There is another important date which draws attention of the reader to that advertisement. Mr. Yogi wants us to join him on June 18, when about half of the year would already be gone. To me the catch is in the first two words, “Join me…” Mr. Yogi wants Sikhs to join him, i.e. become his disciples rather than those of the Guru. The question arises, ‘why should we join Mr. Yogi?’ May we ask him why not all of us should join the Guru, Guru Granth Sahib and Guru Khalsa Panth (instead of Mr. Yogi) and why not start today (instead of 6 months later). How long would people continue fooling Sikhs by such gimmicks? I think as long as we would let them do that.

Lastly, “Singh Sahib” are the honorable words to be used only for the heads of the Takhats and the Harimandar Sahib. Even the president of Shromani committee is not entitled to this honor. There is no Takhat as ‘Sikh Dharma Western Hemisphere’ recognized by the Khalsa Panth. We wonder at the use of this honor by Mr. Yogi himself. Anyway, may it be known that such honors as Bhai Sahib, Padam Shri, etc., are not supposed to be added to one’s name in letters or other correspondence. ¨

Prophesy and Predictions

April 23, 1993

Dear Editor,

Early in 1989, Yogi Bhajan publicized in your column that the year would be good for the Sikh nation because the total of the digits is divisible by 9. Opposite has happened. The Sikh nation had rather to make more sacrifices since then. I wrote in your column that his prophesy was a bluff and it turned out to be that.

The other day I read “Sikhism and Tactic Yoga” by Dr. Trilochan Singh. He writes:

The path of Tantra (taught by Yogi Bhajan) is the antithesis of the path of Sikhism. (page 3)

However Yogi calls his disciples the true Khalsa, and claims to have done something what Guru Gobind Singh did not do, as he describes below:

In my personal experience as gross human body, it is the first time in the world the real perfect shape of the Khalsa came into existence. It did not happen in the time of Guru Gobind Singh. (page 85)

And also:

Guru Gobind Singh forgot somewhere to write that the Khalsa shall do Pooram Praan Tapaa. (page 86)

No wonder that 80 of the 84 disciples whom he took to India for the first time left him to be what they were. Recently, if one follows Khalsa family Visions, there seems a great awakening among the “American” Sikhs.

The Vision is published by the “people of consciousness” c/o Japji Singh Khalsa 1390 Waller St., San Francisco, CA 94117. However, its 9th issue was confiscated at winter solstice (Dec. 1991). I pray, “Let the American Sikhs know the path of Sikhism by getting out of Tantic Yoga.” ¨
