We wonderful documentary...Tommy is a d!ck for rejecting Mo's credit and refusing to meet him..

I also like how Muslims treated Tommy and invited him over to the dinner...Thats the true spirit of Islam...

Tommy is a stupid a$$ for refusing to eat "halal" ..lol..Who would like to turn down an offer for such yummy food?

Soon, EDL will fade away too..Inshallah.

Specially that "Sikhs for EDL" is freaking annoying...British Muslims are on the verge of pacifing their most vocal street opponents The EDL through education, hospitality, and good treatment. A wonderful speciman on how to go about things...

I have too commend the efforts put in by the community when invited for food. Just a veg option woould have meant he had no grounds of refusing.

Sikhs do not eat halal either for the same reason, yet we can all share and learn from each other by accomodating each others beliefs. I wont stop a muslim eating halal as long as hes happy with what i munch.

the problem is not that some random group appeared out of nowhere. Theres more politics behind the scenes bro. There were genuine issues inside the Mirpuri Bangla community which blew out and tommy used those issues to blame muslims and the religion in general.

We do not hear of ofBritish Muslim Turks Muslim Cypriots Muslim lebanese British Arabs british Persians or British Indian Muslims having issues where the Edl (however wrong they were) protesting in Mirpuri and bangla Strongholds ie Brummi Tower Hamlets etc

Moving fwd Proffesional Pakistani lads Bangladeshi Mps need to engage mainstream politicians, and expose how communities became divided post 1980s. There was a blatent Race divide white black asian etc. Address that, stop communities caving inside themselves.

Encourage diversity and integration without diluting who you are.

live n let live. Edl may be racist, but they came about after years of problems. And if we sit and pretend there were none who we kidding??

Neo this is typical of you. The community which has-;

1. Terrorists killing other members of their own community because they don't believe in the same line of caliphs

2. Blowing up each others religious places which go by the same title ie mosque

3. Grooming children from other communities

4. Live off the welfare of the country they live in and yet hate the same country

That community does not admit that they have a problem but people like you are so quick to bring the Sikh community into disrepute.

There can be no problem of terrorism in our community. Just post on Shabad from Guru Granth Sahib that says it's ok to kill someone because you do not agree with them.

Relax Bikkie,

I wasn't talking about this from cultural or religious idealogical perspective but rather from much more common angle/issues put together which is shared by all cultures, religion and groups (even buddhist see myamar/sri lanka where there is buddhist extermism which is oxymoron itself and i m sure some of buddhist naive leaders are still living in a denial to acknowledge that) all this based on combined factors such as - ignorance, lack of knowledge, de-franchised, malign, segregation, ghettoism, right wing thought, self righteousness mixed with ego pride, right wing interperations, extreme nationalist agenda (without any spiritual framework as our community abroad already dumped anand pur resolution framework) and all this on top without proportional growth in tradition of bhram-vidya saint-scholarly/sipahi aspect (fully controlled by sant-scholary aspect) of Sikhi.

Do you want me to try a draw a future picture for you? or you can pen it yourself?

Stop living in a bubble/idealist world, wake up and smell the coffee and try to see things from unbias eagle eyes which gives full 360 view of this world.

I guess the rice were vege? :/

The problem is, whenever Muslims, specially Pakistanis, will invite someone for dinner/lunch etc, the feast will include alot of chicken, meat etc..since most of Pakistani-Punjabi dishes have meat in them (e.g Karahi, Biryani, Qorma etc)...

PS, I don't think there's any different in halal or non-halal meat..meat is meat..Muslims don't eat non-halal because of religious reasons..for EDLers, there is no religious obligation saying that they can't eat halal meat...

It is very fake to show "compassion for animals" by not eating halal meat..I mean, you are still killing and eating animals..what does it matter if they were cut by humans or by machine?

Sikhs don't eat halal because it's an insult to humanity, that's the same reason why Tommy refused. If there is no difference in halal and non-halal why would you believe in the religious reasons? That's just silly.

I always love it when people post some shady Indonesian or Malay pseudo scientist post the "health benefits" of halal lol. They realize the religious reasons make the practice unethical so they jump science.

koinaah add some saag alu methi panir apeh ghal set banjundih. My friend is a Lebanese Muslim and comes in to work with about 4 portions veg n rice and tiny bit of meat.

Tommy kicked up a fuss about halaal earlier in prison.

Im veg out of a lifestyle choice and feel boosted for it..The injunction in our faith says halaal. i dislike the taste of meat..mazzah veg nah menu ohndah.

I guess you will have to pose your halal question to Tommy R possibly on Facebook.. Try karla!

Your own intrepreted admittance that you are "killing" animals for ingestion you would then not eat halaal meat or non halaal on the very principle of "killing"! Your same point applies to you as much as it does to those edls etc etc. (But does it?)

Most meat eating folk i know ENglish or Indian have cut down and pushed in more veg fruit n water intake and are starting to have issues over animals being slaughtered, treated badly or stunned.

this programme aired yesterday and was a very interesting watch

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03ghfyp

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEYKgKOv7-c&feature=player_detailpage

It's good that Tommy Robinson has distanced himself from racist elements and EDL and is understanding that there are still good people out there. It is important to engage with people regardless of how extreme we perceive them to be, as it is only through dialogue and sitting together that conflicts can be resolved.

it's interesting to note that majid anwar of Quilliam foundation was a convicted extremist in al-mahajiroun and now campaigns against extremism, so if he can reform then maybe tommy can too.

would like to hear the sangats views on this programme.

Absolutely Singh Ji!

Maajid Nawaazs time in prison made him reflect on his activities. The support he had from the previous group HT was no longer there for him. Its great Maajid at least trying to defuse issues clinically/being honest about Sharia while finding counter methods to express his voice and refusing to be silenced.

Its good Tommy is finally making an effort towards the Integration he spoke of in earlier years. On that rocky path he knew he had to get away from the right wing.

Dear Neo

I hope i am wrong but reality i am seeing from realistic point of view is that - give it 100 years we may have similar issues - our population would be increasing and thats not the issue its obviously an good thing. However, if sikh population keep increasing without proportional growth in tradition of bhram-vidya saint-scholarly/sipahi aspect (fully controlled by sant-scholary aspect) of Sikhi we may have similar problems -

What you guys think?

in the Uk i strongly doubt Sikhs will have similar issues. There are pockets of Sikhs in the Uk where you do not get brahm gian, populations still grow. Most fauji straight from the pind do basics and just want to crack on make a life.. Outlook is diff, mums n dads do the opposite in the uk and keep their kids watered down with religion deliberately.

There is a gap in Identity. We do not have Nationalism. Indo Punjabis have a different diet, way of life, outlook, we do not suffer the cultural problems Mirpuris face.

Poor Bangladeshis have been caught into this trap for an entirely diff reason. Tower Hamlets was a battleground between the Far Right WIng NAzis and Left 25 years ago. The Race attacks there was extremely horrid. I recall a Bangla boy Mukhtar in 1993ish had the scalp kicked off his head by brutal racist gangs.. The Racial Tension there remained high and ended up with a white flight out. There are gripes on either side. The ENglish were claiming the councils were knocking their Council Estates down and rehousing them out, the Banglas were claiming the Authorities did little to stop race attacks. Lead to Vigilantes on both sides. That dies down, but gangs grew menacingly in number, then you kept hearing 30 asian lads ump 1 white guy.

The media will blank out the blatent race divides and say this is religion.

Lot more to it dude. Neo go out further into the Mids North Mirpuri communities have their own issues, like we have ours. But there wont be common patterns.

Neo Theres a place called Leytonstone Leyton Walthamstow in E London.

Back in 1994 there were parts that were exclusively ENglish Irish then Paks in Walthamstow and Indian Muslims majority in Leytonstone

theere was unease segregation most of the time but once Investigators found a particular family a Single Asian Mum with 7 kids was raped 8 times by her vicious Racist neighbour, who would then spit on her and call her a dirty p4.... their phone lines were cut, windows smashed by yobs. the kids were very young and terrified.

As soon as the locals found out they were up in arms. If that was not bad enough Neo

In neighbouring Walthamstow there were constant kick offs Paks v blacks...Folk then were like medieval animals. Bars swords knives knuckle dusters flying everywhere. No1 gave a shyte mate!

Race was a blatent factor. Put that together with high unemployment, Colonial attitudes towards brown skin what are you going to get?

Some interested parties stoking tensions further. Thats where the radicalism crap evolved into HT Khalifa krew.

So its not always about one community one religion or one group.

The Media and Politicians should honestly debate what Multiculturalism means to them? Did they misinterpret it to mean Uniculturalism?

Each area had its own prob.

Now me n matey Singh went to Leeds Interfaith Samagam in Roundhay We get lost we had to stop outside a Pub in daylight on ring rd to ask directions. Chitteh saw Thari Pagh n got worked up. Now what do 83 000 sacrificd heads mean? in 60 odd years wehavent gotit much easier mate. Radicalism and Racism go hand in hand in western countries in certain points. At others some communities have progress to make.

You are right, the amount of meat that Pakistanis eat is very unhealthy and much more than nutritionists recommend for the protein benefits. That's why Pakistanis tend to be on sickness benefits more than any other community. Add this to the interbreeding and you have a double whammy which will ensure that the NHS of the future will always have a very high proportion of Pakistani patients using the service.

lol, more bs.

Americans, on average, have the highest consumption of meat per capita all over the world..I don't see them as unhealthy beings compared to others. Pakistanis, even in UK, would eat wayyyy less meat than many other communities. Goreys have meat in everything..They don't have tasty vegetable recipes with different spices like our people have.

Also, marrying with one's cousin isn't called "inbreeding" ...Einstein was an "inbred" so were many others. Marrying first cousin raises the dangers of genetic deformation by just 2 percent....but I am of the opinion that one should avoid marrying cousins and marry far...

If you have any research paper which deals with cousin-marriage and its effects etc, then share. Remember, I said "research paper"..not some random "doctor" saying "majority of Pakistanis marry their cousins" blah blah..Give me a published research paper

With regard to halal, the Muslims call their meat slaughtered according to sharia as Halal-lawful and Sikhs call it Kutha which comes from the word Kohna which means tortured meat. Halal slaughter causes the most distress and pain to the animal being slaughtered.

It doesn't. There is no evidence to support that. Just like there are experts supporting your point, some researchers I can find which will say that Halal is actually more humane. This topic is useless to discuss. It is quite stupid to say "Oh, I love animals thats why I don't eat halal...but I'll kill and eat animals anyways..but hey, remember, I love them" ..What a joke! lol..Either don't eat animals or stop showing fake concern for animals.

Another reason could be that the places where halal is available such as the fake southern fried type chicken outletz tend to have the lowest hygiene standards.

Halal meat is way more hygenic than normal meat...since it requires an international 'certification' of "halal"..which has very strict hygenic rules...This is the reason many big companies tend to buy from Halal meat houses...

For example, few years back, one of the biggest Turkey providers on Thanksgivings, Butterball, had Halal Turkeys on the offer. Some idiots like geller cried about it..and see what sane American Media, who investigated the issue, had to say
