Who murdered prince Nau Nihal Singh?

Recommended Posts

I once read how Prince Nau Nihal Singh was crowned Maharaja of Punjab after the death of his father Kharak Singh, but after a few hours of being crowned a stone/bricks fell in his head and after a few hours he was dead.

Even then there were speculations of it being a planned murder. I think it's pretty obvious that it was murder. Soon after his mother chand kaur took over and became empress. He was 19 years old and had a son, not sure what happened to his son ...

I don't anyone ever got to the bottom of this incident though I think there was an "investigation"    I think if it was a murder then the obvious choices are either the British or the dogra brothers.

Sher Singh, his uncle? Sounds like a fishy character to me, maybe it was plotted by him because soon after he did become Maharaja. I think Sher Singh did end up getting a bit too friendly with the British.

After Ranjit Singh i don't think the raj was stable, too much drama, plot twists, betrayals, mysteries.

I don't know who it was but all I can say is don't bother asking the Metropolitan Police to solve it. My bike was reported  stolen to them in 1997 and they still haven't found the thief...or the bike.

yeh i mean they were the most trusted WAZIRs of the darbar and Dogras were also helped by Sher Singh, Half Brother of Kharak Singh whom Dogras used as a puppet because he wasn't as smart. Back to the topic, " But some calls death of Nau Nihal Singh a Miracle Because The Chajja where he was supposed to be sitting was far away from the cremation thingy ( Cremation of his Father KHARAK SINGH ) , and suddenly it caught fire and a boulder fell on his head, he was immediately taken to his room and nobody was allowed to visit him. Eye witnesses says that he had minor injuries when he was taken to his room, But when his mother was allowed in the room, he was Dead."- Dont even remember the book name  XD.

People called it a miracle because Nau Nihal Singh was asking Chand Kaur ( His Mother ) to set herself on fire, and some people thought that its RABB DA BHANA WART REHA HAI... But it wasn't because it was all DHian singh Dogra and Sher Singh's BHAANA.

But Nau Nihal Singh and Brahmins and Dogras were  asking Chand Kaur to immolate herself the moment he set kharak Singh's Body on fire, Which she was refusing to Accept. I Think the planning was to kill Both Royal Mother-Son the same day but Chand kaur refused to self-immolate. So only Nau Nihal Singh Died that day, after whom Chand Kaur sat on the throne, but not for a long time because Dhian Singh Dogra Changed her Servants and the servants killed her by smashing her head on the wood.

The Dogras Then throned Sher singh the King, who would later be killed By sandhawalias at point blank range. and after that Only Jind Kaur and Duleep Singh were left from the Royal Family. Rest is history.

Side Note:- Chand Kaur never liked Nau Nihal Singh and she used to call him CHUHR SINGH ( sweeper ).

Giani sher singh ambala wale says sher singh was educated in a english  missionary college and thus was culturally familiar and took a liking to them

Hence his tied up beard, and the infantry uniforms, and he apparently had shirt, tie, pants when he came back from college and was beat up by the nihangs angry at his firangi bana

I think he had potential to be a decent ruler tbh. The empire was in a bad state and he seemed to be bringing it back on track again. He only ruled for around a year and a half before he was assassinated. Had he not been assassinated I think he would have been quite a decent ruler. I think he tied his beard because of the Rajput influence. He was close to the Dogras who were Rajputs and they used to tie their beards.

Kharak Singh was rubbish.

Yeah Nau Nihal Singh would have been great, he was like his grandfather, which is the reason why he was murdered.

He was murdered by the dogras. That day is quite well documented. When the stone fell on him he got up and was absolutely fine. He then was escorted to his room by servants and the Dogras. Later on in the day he was found dead with blood all over him and the servants which escorted him to his room were found dead.

Other than the Dogras and the servants who were murdered, no one knew what happened in his room.

Some British were there and they wrote that after the stone hit his head he was escorted to his room by some servants and the Dogras. Dogras then didn't let anyone in the room because Nau Nihal Singh had to "rest" after the stone hit him. Some time later he was declared dead.

Other than the British, other people present at the time wrote the same thing.

I hope he wasnt exactly like his grandfather lol

His wedding was likely one of the most extravagant weddings in history

And indirect cause of sardar hari singh Nalwa death as he had to send a large contingent for protocol at the princes wedding in 1837 which left them quite weak in the jamrud northwest front

Do you know why chand kaur didnt like her son?

And wasnt Kharak singh a opium addict etc so nihal singh should be appreciated by chand kaur

I've never heard of Chand Kaur not liking her son ...   He was quite popular among the Sikhs. He donated a lot at Tarn Taran Sahib darbar sahib. He got the gate built and a burj built at corner of the sarowar, he was going to get more work done but died.

Yeah Kharak Singh was crap, he was heavily addicted. Some accounts say that he was poisoned and murdered and that his own son played a role in poisoning him. Though Kharak Singh was still officially the Maharaja, he was actually dethroned and kept in a room with one of his loyal courtiers (forgot his name)  This courtier was murdered by one of the Dogras. Kharakh Singh was then slowly poisoned to get him out of the way. While all this was all happening Nau Nihal Singh was basically running everything, little did he know that his own murder was being plotted as well!

When Hari Singh Nalwa and Maharaja Ranjit Singh took over Kashmir from the Afghans, Kharak Singh also took part as well, So he started of good, but he later became addicted to opium.

Its all very interesting though isn't it lol     every empire/dynasty had a lot of drama and traitors.

yeah about naunihal singh being called chuhr singh by his mother, it might be out of adoration lol that some scholar misinterpret as contempt

dug up some history, and maharaja ranjit singh's nanaji's nanaji was apparently named chuhr singh

he was a bhullar jat of mandi, who married off his daughter agan to sardar sukh chain (son of tilokha, grandson of chaudry phul, therefore a cousin of baba ala singh phulkian)

that couple had three sons, all which had their geneologies and sardaris, of which raja gajpat singh became ruler of jind and married off his daughter raaj kaur to sardar charhat singh's son sardar maha singh, and she bore maha singh a son who we all know

so chuhr singh might not even be a bad rep, maybe he started sweeping the floor as a child or something lol and he started getting called chuhr singh

I am sure she held her son dear since her husband kharak singh was so wack of a addict to opium

Despite the teenager not coming from a Muslim background, professionals meant to protect her then allowed the parents of her 'husband' to foster her after she became pregnant, it revealed. One of her social workers allegedly even attended the wedding ceremony. The terrified girl – referred to as 'Anna' – was left in a state of 'domestic slavery', too scared to leave the controlling relationship for fear she would be the victim of an honour killing, she told the report's authors. Details emerged yesterday in an independent report into the treatment of five abuse victims in the West Yorkshire city over the past two decades, which found that 'children suffered abuse no child should have to experience'.  Alarmingly, it concluded that some youngsters in Bradford 'remain unprotected' from sex exploitation.   +2   Social workers in Bradford turned a blind eye when a 15-year-old grooming victim took part in an Islamic marriage to one of her abusers, the damning report revealed yesterday (stock image) The report – described by the body which commissioned it as making 'difficult and, at times, distressing reading' – began two years ago after nine men of Pakistani heritage were jailed for more than 57 years over the sexual exploitation of girls who had been in Bradford Council's care. Anna was placed in residential care as a teenager in 2002 but went missing more than 70 times, according to the report. She disclosed details of sexual abuse – including rapes – to a confidential support service for girls involved in prostitution, but nothing was passed on to police or social workers. The report said it appeared there had been 'collusion' with this by her social worker 'who allegedly attended the ceremony and assessed that her marriage was likely to reduce the risks incurred when Anna was missing'. Staggeringly, despite becoming pregnant, after a review Anna was formally placed with her abuser's parents as a foster child, with the family even paid a fostering allowance.   +2   The report began two years ago after nine men were jailed for more than 57 years over the sexual exploitation of girls who had been in Bradford Council's care. Pictured: Basharat Khaliq, Saeed Akhtar, Naveed Akhtar, Parvaze Ahmed, Zeeshan Ali, Fahim Iqbal, Izar Hussain, Mohammed Usman and Kieran Harris who were all jailed at Bradford Crown Court in 2019 Anna told the report's author: 'At 14 years old I was engaged to be married, taking on the role of an Islamic wife fulfilling the needs of my husband and the extended family somewhat like a maid. 'We had no similarities in race, religion or culture and I continued to be subject to domestic violence and was subject to a coercive, controlling sexual relationship with a known perpetrator. I was frightened to leave, in fear of an honour-based killing.' The report concluded: 'It is hard to understand how this decision can have been made and it resulted in Anna being entirely reliant on her abuser and his family.' Instead of protecting her from harm, the placement left her 'at greater risk and made her entirely dependent on them', it added. While there, she was subjected to 'domestic slavery' and 'sexually abused and exploited by dozens of adult males', it went on. The Bradford Partnership – which includes Bradford Council children's services and Bradford Police – has since apologised to young abuse victims who had been failed. It said a large number of defendants have been found guilty and given substantial prison sentences. The joint statement said: 'We believe that practice across all agencies is improving... but there is much more to do.'
    • I don't think narcissism is on their increase per se  I think that narcissism was always there in people and all that has happened is the narcissism is now out in the open. It has been amplified.  Similar to how people who become rich become arrogant and obnoxious. Money did not change them, it just exposed them to show they really are.  We had social controls in society that shunned narcissist aspects so that it got buried. With social controls now being untangled it is no longer taboo and with social media (instagram and tiktok ) it has upscaled attention seeking and the narcissism. But with a overload of narcissism and attention seeking in society, I think what could happen is: 1. We could see narcissist insensitivity in that we will see people less bothered with the attention seeking 2. A backlash and swing in the pendulum
    • there has been vaaran /caste since early days of manusmitri and every Brahmin has used it to make themselves useful to invaders as they sold their skills as master manipulators of society else how could handfuls of people control multi millions ?They did it during the islamic invaders reign and then switched when the angrez/portuguese arrived . Guru Sahiban removed the leprosy of vaaran from our consciouness but with the interference of Angrez and their flying monkeys the brahmins they inserted dubious texts into our literature which allowed the poisonous mentality back
