True!  Considering the lies that politicians are always telling, actors make the perfect politicians, all they got to do is act and lie to convince the masses.

Another reason I guess is because these actors are like demi gods in India! People worship them    they have popularity so people will vote for them.

Dharmendra's brother Veerender had no problem doing Punjabi films shows the character or lack of in Dharamendra

people vote for the characters that these people have played on screen thinking that's what these prostitutes are really like . That's why people voted for Anupam Kher not rrealising what kind of poisonous hinduvta scum he really  is because he plays lovely friendly caring characters on screen and conversely its the reason why no villians get a political career

Well he dumped his first wife (sikh)  to marry hema malini a hindu. That in itself says a lot about his character and hema malinis character. 

Hes drunk most the time anyway 

Both his daughters with hema malini are hindu   no surprise there.

The reason being the people behind the curtain need a public face, it doesn't matter who or what party gets voted in, they are nothing but public faces to the real people in charge.

People of india are simple hearted, their naive in a way, and these slimey politicians take advantage of that. Most the people in that country are poor.  Its sad really.

That explains why people like hema malini whose made a living out of entertaing the nation with her booty shaking is now a member of parliament.
