Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa. Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

READ THIS PEOPLE! I KNOW IT LOOKS LONG BUT BELIEVE ME, YOU'LL GET THE ANSWERS YOURE LOOKING FOR. YOU'LL ALSO BE SURPRISED AT SOME THINGS.

even after taking Amrit i used think abt all of this stuff before too..ya know..why Guru Ji had more than one wife, why were not allowed to eat meat, why we're not allowed to cut our hair, etc. ...well...i started getting answers and i didnt like them. examples: 'Sikhs shouldnt cut their hair cuz its their identity.' and 'Sikhs dont eat meat cuz there are so many other things we can eat.' and 'Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji had more than one wife cuz someone made a promise with their daughter that they would have her married to Guru Ji, so then Guru Ji had to marry that girl'....and there are so many other pathetic, stupid answers to these common asked questions abt our religion. since i wasnt getting the answers i wanted, i started reading books and stuff. i was really disappointed cuz i still found the pathetic answers in the books. then i finally was told by a Gursikh that i shouldnt read books and i shouldnt always believe what other Ppl say; and that instead of all of that i should read Gurbani and Dasam Granth (since most Ppl have more questions abt sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji). so when i started to read i started to get answers....and its true abt Sri Gobind Singh Ji having one wife! omg! drop that topic...its so old.... theres something we should all know by now, and that's: WE SHOULD STOP READING THE BOOKS (except for jeevanies i think) BECAUSE MOST OF THEM ARE WRITTEN BY THE HINDU GOVERNMENT WHO ARE TRYING THEIR VERY BEST TO CHANGE SIKHISM!!! why dont you Ppl understand?? its so sad cuz so many Ppl dont even know that most of the pictures of Guru Jis (especially Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his family) are drawn by hindus and make it look like Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji worshiped the Hindu religion. think abt Ppl!: why do you think most Ppl are questioning stuff abt our Guru Jiwho made the Khalsa??? I'll tell you why. its cuz the Hindu Ppl who hate to look at us know that we wont leave our religion so easily and so then they start to change it slowly and slowly just like the nazi Ppl lead by hitler took the religious books from the Jews and started to change the history of the Jews and started to add in a lot abt what the Nazis believed. another thing thats really important for you Ppl to know is that Indra Ghandi (who started the whole Operation Bluestar) was related to Gangu who was the man who stole the gold coins from Guru Gobind Singh Ji's mother. Gangu went to a police chief and told them that he had the younger Sahibzaday and their Maata Ji at his house. he went and told them cuz he knew that Maata Ji found out that he stole the sack of gold coins from them and also cuz he knew that he would get a lot of money from the police by telling them where the younger Sahibzaday were. we are so unaware of what is going on around us....the way that hitler helped start the war cuz of discriminating against the Jews, is the same way that the indian government is going to help start the Third World War by discriminating against the Sikhs. asking questions abt our religion and our Gurus is ok, but questioning our Guru Jis in a way that could mean youre saying that they (or one of them, or some of them) are wrong, is totally wrong. and one more thing: i dont see why Ppl say it was wrong for Guru Ji to marry more then once in the first place. think abt it! cuz even if He did marry more than once, it wouldve been for an EXTREMELY good reason; Guru Ji didnt do things just for the fun of it, so even if Guru Ji married more than once, we cant say He did a wrong thing;....and adding to that..for those of you who say he married more than once and say that He is a hypocrit by doing so, i would just like to tell you Ppl that it wasnt like Guru Ji was with both of his wives at once. you can only say that it was wrong if He was both of his wives at once. theres one thing i know for sure: if Guru Ji did marry more than once, He ended His previous relationship and then started His new one. most of the Ppl who say its right to eat meat and cut hair and say that Guru Ji commited adultery are the Ppl who want to do these kind of things themselves!! WE CANT BE AS HIGH AS GURU JI SO DONT TRY TO COMPARE A SIKH TO GURU JI. sometimes im so disgusted at some things Ppl say abt our religion. If ya dont wanna follow it, then dont!!...and for those of you who ask "Do we have to take Amrit?", the answer is "Yes.", and heres why: there is a shabad stating in it "Sabh Sikhan Ko Hukam Hai, Guru Maanyo Granth." which means whateva our Guru Jis told us to do, we must do it. even Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji obeyed the Panj Piyaarey when they told Guru Ji to leave (i think it was) Chaandani Chok when the moghals were getting closer to the Sikhs; and if Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji obeyed someone while being a Guru themself, why should we hesitate to obey what out Guru Jis told us to do??!! well! i really hope this answers most of your questions. if you read this entire message, thank-you for doing so and im sure you'll consider the fact that you shouldnt question our Guru Jis. God Bless You All.

Militant Singh, tusi sharm karo - why are you judging Guru Sahib by your standards???

There is no ruling on the number of wives, but the fact that we are monogamous people is another matter.

There is ample proof that Guru Sahib had more than one wife and that can be seen from the historical evidence that still exists today, namely their tombs, hukamnamas from the different Mata Jis etc.

Let's get over this and the meat issue, the SIKH Rehit Maryada is VERY clear on this, relying on English translation of shabds is not going to get you very far nor is the opinion of this Baba or that one.

Let's focus on the bigger picture and understand what exactly the person in question has troubling him and answer those issues and address them fully without getting into unecessary bickering between ourselves on small items.

man can one make a mountain from an ant hill!

lets answer the questions, and we can be at each others throats and debate later on.

seeing this is doing my head in, ill try and answer the questions....

1.) How you call the first word of Guru Granth Sahib?

some people just say it should be prounounced as "ikonkar" or "ikomkar", nahi, shudd paath tells us that it should be pronounced as

"ikooaaanngkaaar"

(like a drone kind of thing, apparently to symbolise the creation of the universe)

2.) What is Amrit?

this is derived from "mrit" meaning death, stick the "A" at the front and it means beyond death.

4.) Who told us that we have to do Akhand Path in some amount of time, and who said it should be Akhand?

apparently, i think one bibi (by the name of mai bhago) was about to be shaheed, as her last request she asked to read the whole of sggs, which took her more or less 48 hours (im sure this is how the sakhi goes)

so we have followed tradition and complete the akhand paath in 48 hours.

who said it should be akhand? well, thats a question i dont know, but stick the A before anything and it means beyond something.

5.) Why Guru Gobind Singh Ji Had 3 wives and told us to only have 1 wife?

actually thats a good question because im sure guru hargobind ji and guru arjun dev ji had more than one wife also.

apparently, guru sahib said he would never refuse someones request, so when two people at the same time asked for guru hargobind jis rishta, he said yes because he said he would never refuse a request from members of sangat.

the story goes like that, im not to sure on that.

6.) Why we still find The God, while we are saying that he everywhere?

thats a good question

gustaphi maaf

kk soo right now alll eveidence points to guru ji having more then 1 wife.....

sooo for a moment lets not argue that,

what will you do now, will you say "man how could guru ji do that, he aint my guru now"??

or

"yo man this is messed up stuff, prolly our whole religion is fake, lets be bhamins now"

or

" man i dont understand why he did it but hes my guru he cant be wrong about anything, soo hopefully one day ill have gurus darshan and he can explain it to me"

like really how many of us understand everything of dhan dhan sri guru granth sahib ji?, about the jeevans of our gurus, our famed bhagats, our heros withen our khalsa? if u fully understand all that then you must be a person whos already mukht.......

we dont know WHY... for soo many things and just because u dont stop making up conspiracy theroies to cover up you questioning your guru

Khasal Ji,

I can under stand what you guys are saying but there are so many questions about sikh gurus, Sikhism and sikhs those are un-answered or have many different kind of answers. Now i went to a gurmat camp and i got one more question in my mind:-

Its says the doing miracles is prohibited in Sikhism by Guru Nanak Dev Ji but:-

1. Making a mute speak by guru harkrishan ji

2. Guru Gobind singh ji revising the whole guru granth sahib while he never red it, im not sure about guru tegh bahadur ji

there are many other things like these aren't these miracles?

Please reply,

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa,

Waheguru Ji Ki fateh.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Sorry, I'm gonna go back to the Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Wives issue for a second. I'm gonna tell you guys the story I know and show you how people could have misinterpreted it and made it out to be that Guru Gobind Singh Ji had 3 wives. Guru Gobind Singh Ji was married to Mata Jito Ji. ("Wife #1") After they got married Guru Gobind Singh Ji's mother thought that Mata Jito Ji was so beautiful that she renamed her to Mata Sundri Ji. ("Wife #2") On Vaisakhi day in 1699 Guru Gobind Singh Ji announced that Mata Sahib Kaur would be the mother of the Khalsa. (Wife #3) So as you can see if the story I heard was true, Guru Gobind Singh Ji was married to Mata Jito/Sundri Ji.
