Recently, the Bloc Quebecois- a Canadian Federal Political Party called for the Government of Canada to disallow members of parliament and the general public alike from wearing a KIRPAN into the Parliament. Canadian parliament already has members of Parliament who wear the KIRPAN on an everyday basis in the parliament. They have been doing so for years. This uncalled for call comes as a shock to the Sikh Nation and other members of the Canadian and Global public alike. WE THE MEMBERS OF THIS GROUP STRONGLY OPPOSE THIS CALL THAT DISPLAYS INTOLERANCE AND IGNORANCE. PLEASE JOIN US BY JOINING THIS GROUP TO SHOW SOLIDARITY. Sat Sri Akal all, I went to India around Diwali 08. I was shocked to find out that the custom across Punjab now is to book a Caterer (Halvai) to cook Langar. In fact I was appalled and quite upset, it goes totally against the concept of Seva and Langar in my opinion. I been told that if the serving utensil touches the Sangats plate then that is "Jooth", there the utensils were being used by anyone to serve food themselves and placed back. One off the catering staff even dropped it on the fl…

Self Percept (Atam Updesh) Why are you so engrossed in worries? Why are you afraid of some one? Who may kill you? The soul is immortal; it neither dies nor takes birth. The present is here and now, the past is irrecoverable and the future will be good. Don't fret over the past and don't be worried about the future. The present is going on. Why do you cry? What did you lose? When you were born, what did you bring along, which has been lost? What did you produce which has been perished? It is here that you gained and it is here that you lose. The man comes to; and goes from world, empty handed. What you own today was not yours yesterday and will not be yours tomorro…

Khalsa ji, those of you that live in the UK might have watched or noticed the charity t.v event “sports relief” last Friday. Basically donating money to unfortunate people in the 3rd world countries.
