VJKK VJKF Sat Sangat Ji, I have a question I would like to ask about shaster in a dumalla. It is a quick question and I hope some singhs or kaurs out their can shed shed some light on it. I have heard old stories about nihangs in battle where they would take the weapons out of their dumalle and use them in battle. I can see how one would take off a chakram but how about a kirpaan. Is their a certain way you must tie the kirpaan into the dastaar? I have this question because I have tried experimenting tieng a kirpaan into my dumalla but whenever I try and take it out it always messes up the lar or it takes too long to get out. Now, in the battlefield, say you dropped…

How to sharpen your kirpan: {Watch in 720p/1080p) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ॥ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹਿ I've seen a lot of Sikhs wearing dull kirpans, some even have their kirpana welded to the miyan which defeats the purpose of wearing a kirpan. I made a short tutorial for the Sangat so everyone can easily sharpen their kirpana that are ready to use if you ever need to protect yourself in self defense or protect others from harms way. Here is a link to the sharpener I bought, it is perfect for the basic taksali kirpans, but I do not recommend using this for more expensive …

Wear the Sikh pagdi, 21st century style A computer programme helps youngsters choose turban styles and colours that suit their face structure CHANDIGARH: Youth anywhere will always want to do things their way, and so why not hair styles? So the attempt by a senior member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandak Committee can best be described as an attempt to tie up one of the more serious problems that Sikhism confronts as its youth increasingly shear off their hair because they don’t want the time-consuming hassles of tying a turban. Now, Jaswinder Singh feels that by combining modern computer software with a religious tradition, he can get more youth to jump onto the “…

Sat Sri Akal, Sadh Sangat jee, I have a question that I wanted an answer to.. I am a Hindu from Punjab. So please pardon my ignorance. I just wanted to know if Wearing a Kalgi is prohibted to all. I know that in Hindu weddings the Kalgi is worn. But in Sikh weddings it is not. Because there is no one as great as Kalgidhar Dasmesh Pita Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Does this apply just to the weddings or in general aswell.

WEARING THE KALGI (PLUME) ON WEDDINGS by Daas Wearing a Kalgi (a plume) on one’s turban signifies that the person is a royal person, a king and a person with great responsibility and respect. Unfortunately in recent years people have been following the practice of putting a Kalgi on the groom’s turban on the wedding day, which is ceremoniously removed in the Diwaan Hall in the Gurdwara Sahib by the groom’s sisters. Is wearing a Kalgi in accordance to Gurmat, the Guru’s way? Could you wear a Kalgi on your turban and walk inside the Golden Temple and not be stopped by fellow Sikhs or sewadaars? Is wearing a Kalgi in the house of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, our King who w…

fateh i was woundering about my kirpan i would leik towear it to school but i knwo that their will be a dispute on wheter i am entitled to wear it or not! i was woundering if i tell the head teacher first so hes aware and other teachers can be aware so i do not get into any other trouble! but as my paaji said if i do tell the school they might not allow me to as there was also an incident with a 15 yr old boy getting stabbed. And if i inform the teachers and they say no n i continue to wear it i will be punished more. OK. I wear a pug and sometimes my ears feel alittle sore but nothing major. Over the past 2 years, after 4 or 5 hours of wearing a pug my ears start to feel very painful (usually the right ear), the pain gets worse when i push against the part of my pug that is covering my ears. Also, the area 2 inches above my ear starts to feel painful - as if something or someone is apply intense pressure against a small area of my skull and my eyes start to feel tired and sore. The pain goes away as soon as I take my pug of - although the whole area is still sore and it hurts when i touch it. Sometimes at work it gets so bad that i go into the changing rooms and redo my pug and that u…
