In this age of fast and electronic communications, I would like to know what links do the S.G.P.C. and the different Takhats in India and all the Gurdwaras in India as well as abroad have? What I would like to know is whether all of them as stated above have been hooked up in a common server so that whatever decisions or mattas or hukumnamas are issued by the S.G.P.C. or the Akal Takhat are sent across to all through the net or the computer technology. For this to take place , all of them have to have a computer set in their premises or Gurdwaras so that the same is communicated with the Sikh masses all over the world. Take for example the case of the impl…

Isn't that how a lot of our discussion starters go? Replace Nanaksaryeeaa with Taksaalee or AKJ if you want, but often we in the Panth bash other gursikhs. I myself had a real problem with Nanaksar. I remember going to a Nanaksar Thaath just to see what they did wrong and see if I could make fun of them. When I came back and started going on about how the put tiger hide under Satguru jee etc. the Singh I was talking too politely told me I should worry about myself, not others. Then I ordered some books on the founder of Nanaksar, Baba Nand Singh jee. There were 7 or 8 books and when I started reading them, I was amazed! Baba jee was an amazing gursikh who taught so…

The Sikh Tradition of Hola Mahalla Q. HOLI OR HOLA? A. Holi is a Hindu festival celebrating the victory of the Saint Prahlade over his evil aunt Holika who tried to burn him alive. However the reasoning behind this festival had long been forgotten, even during the time of the tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh Jee it had become a meaningless day of throwing colour on each other. Guru Gobind Singh Jee ordered that his Khalsa would not celebrate Holi and instead introduced the tradition of HOLA MAHALLA. Hola is the masculine form of the word Holi indicating the bravery of the Khalsa. The literal meaning of Hola Mahalla is military exercises or manoeuvres. Q. When was Hola Mah…

Imagine the frame of mind of a person who is hounded all his life, his father is murdered, his two sons die in the battle of Chamkaur, his other two sons are assassinated, his mother dies along with them, he cannot even rest for a while since he is a royal fugitive. In such a situation ordinary people can lose mental balance. But Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji sings in the praise of the Almighty. There is no example of a person in the entire history of mankind when such storical grace has been shown by anyone under such extreme personal pressures. He was also a householder, poet, scholar, thinker, reformer, prophet, lover of truth and purity, fearless as a lion, champion of …

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh! Nineteen years ago, a war was fought,The warriors who fought, gave up a lot.
