vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Guru Nanak Academy The Gurmat Studies Foundation had a vision of such an institute in North America that would train children, youth, and adults about Sikhism. Through the Guru's blessings that vision has turned into reality with the Guru Nanak Academy. The academy is a place where children and youth learn the basics of Sikhism while training adults to become Sikh preachers. Our main goal is to educate society about the Sikh Faith and to build preachers for the future. The academy offers courses on Gurmukhi, Gurbani Santhiya, and Santhiya of Larrivar Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Saheb Ji. We have also started a seperate c…

Everybody is interested in a SikhSangat Conference. There are a few things we all know, like it should follow GURMAT and it should be international because the sangat is international. But the reason I have said "samelan" is because this is an idea they have in SouthEast Asia - Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore - of "Samelans" It's like a camp, samagam and conference in One. Samelan means "A meeting" or "A Get together." Now the sangat should decide where and when. once we make this decision then we can get the ball rolling !! woohoo i am soooooo excited :T:

1st June 1984 Piecing together the evidence of various eye-witness and also second-hand socurces, such as Kirpal Singh, President of the Khalsa Dewan, Amritsar and S.S. Bhagowalia, advocate at Gurdaspur and Vicepresident for the Association for Protection of Democratic Rights (Punjab), the following picture emerges as to what happened at Golden Temple from June 1, 1984. It is really amazing how, except for some minor details, the accounts of different persons interviewed separately tally so closely with regard to the date, the time and the description of incident June 1, 1984. The AISSF Member, Duggal, the girl student, Sevadar Prithipal Singh and Baldev Kaur al…

On 22 January, the Austrian jail authority, accompanied by sniffer dogs, raided the belongings of five Sikhs while they were away from their cells. They showed great disregard for the sacred gutka's (prayer books) and other religious literature. All their belongings were left in a real state of disarray. You may recall that Hardeep Singh, Tarsem Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Jaspal Singh and Surjit Singh all received 17 year prison sentences in 2009, for the murder of Ramanand in Vienna. Ramanand, a controversial figure, disrespected the Guru Granth Sahib and committed 'beadbi' of the saroop. Hardeep Singh has begun a hungerstrike by way of a protest at the harsh treatment th…

vahigurujikakhalsa vahigurujikifateh. Could someone please explain in what context the phrases 'red robes' and the colour 'red' is mentioned in this shabad. I dont understand (sorry dont know how to use gurbani font  ) SHALOK, THIRD MEHL: The red-robed bride is vicious; she forsakes God, and cultivates love for another man. She has neither modesty nor self-discipline; the self-willed manmukh constantly tells lies, and is ruined by the bad karma of evil deeds. She who has such pre-ordained destiny, obtains the True Guru has her Husband. She discards all her red dresses, and wears the ornaments of mercy and forgiveness around her neck. In this world and the ne…

A group of men believed to be carrying "bladed weapons" are occupying a temple in Leamington Spa, according to police. Warwickshire Police said about 20 or 30 men entered the Gurdwara Sahib, at about 06:45 BST on Sunday. Officers are inside the temple on Tachbrook Drive negotiating with the group. A force spokesman said it was being treated as "an aggravated trespass" from "the escalation of a local dispute" and was not a terror incident. A police cordon is currently in force around the temple while officers and religious leaders try to end the stand-off. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh Last night, 20-30 Singhs were protecting our Gurughar. A parade of black men came towards GNG Smethwick from Capehill/Asda/Job centre. They taunted the Singhs, and drove past towards the mandir. (The mandir has got smashed). 2 Car load of Black men tried to attack the Gurdwara, the Singhs defended gallantly, and smashed the black men. 4 Black men got battered by the Singhs, the other car load ran off. The Singhs called an ambulance for the injured black men. With kirpa of Guru Granth Sahib Jee, the gurdwara is not harmed. No Singhs were injured/damaged.
