I see some old people have patka. It does not look good for old people. Mostly people from Delhi or Bombay side have patkas. I think they should have turban or damala. For kids patka looks cute. What do you think the max age should be for people to stop wearing patka and start wearing turban?

May 17, 1746 Date of Chotta Ghallughara Imagine Without Food, Ammunition, Supplies, in the Jungles for Months being Chased By Mughal Army. Below is an Article on Chotta Ghallughara by Gurmat Study Team Early in 1746, when Sardar Jassa Singh Ahluvalia pushed northwards and entered the Eminabad territory in Gujranwala district, they were attacked by the local jagirdar, Jaspat Rai, the diwan of Yahiya Khan, the governor of Lahore. what i wanted to know is can we trully ever control these things i mean we can pysically refrain from something like relationships i suppose all we need is willpowerer BUT what about other things i mean through the media we are constantly being bombarded with the 5 thiefs e.g. i remember when i was young they had adverts for dove soap and only had the litmus test NOW they have naked women showerin in the advert. computer games are gettin more ''realistice'' i.e. dirtier, man i miss the super nintendo days it was so innocent back then not that i dont love my Playstation 2 now lol. i just want to know how others cope with the constant onslaught of these things i suppose tu…

My brother was listening to this song recently and the lyrics kinda just struck me.... this guy is OBVIOUSLY talking about a girl, Okay, I'm aware of that. However, it felt like he could be talking about Maya and what a hold it has over us...some of the lyrics really hit me... Closer closer closer closer Turn the lights off in this place And she shines just like a star And I swear I know her face I just don't know who you are Turn the music up in here I still hear her loud and clear Like she's right there in my ear Telling me that she wants to own me To control me Come closer Come closer And I just can't pull myself away Under Her Spell I can'…

maya is all around us in all sorts of sinful actions. it has come to me the thought that are we actually livinging in hell? think about this, i know its not probably true, but as sikhs if we have come from another live form because we have not reunited with god, where would that put us now? we are trying to break free from all the maya in this world, not any other world, but the world we live in today to reunite with god. further, where has all this maya come from? with the christians there is a devil and god, sins are seen as the devils work, but with sikhs, how did maya come to our world and what was its cause?

The current situation of the world is very dark. Reading gurbani one realises just how bad the current climate is. Wherever you look you see people totally engrossed under this illusion of maya. The 5 thieves (panj chor) have total control of the world. Nearly every advertisement on billboards or tv has some sort of kaam(sexual) image. Why do you need a half naked women to sell a car?! When one walks down the street he hears the filthiest language being used, it seems as if people can't say one sentence without swearing. Kaam and krodh(anger) are prelevant everywhere nonone can deny this. If we can't even break the bonds of kaam and krodh what chance do we have…
