How to understand Gurbani

Waheguru Ji Ki Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I'm 13 years old and I'm have come on to the path of sikhi and I am working towards taking Amrit. I have been doing my Paath and I don't understand most of it. I've been researching and I haven't found a way to learn the meaning of Gurbani. The only way I have found is using a translation. If anyone knows how I can understand Gurbani please tell me.

I use a small kirpan when I shower in which I tuck it into my dastaar, I just wanted to know if this is right, also sometimes when I take my small kirpan out of my dastaar I forget to put on my everyday kirpan which I wear (I don't do it on purpose, I just forget) is alright for me to do japji sahib path to ask for, forgiveness and do benti that guru sahib ji stops me from this this again?

WJKK WJKF I lost my Nana Ji the other day. He faced alot of hardships and difficulties in his life one being which was losing a young son at 21 and and my nana and nani ji never 'recovered' from his death. Despite all they faced he was good person helped whenever they could with little what they had. I have a family member suffering from mental health problems for over 3 years. Started with anxiety and led to depression and now other health problems. Over 3 years of counselling and various doctors who can’t figure out any underlying cause or solution that works. Everything suggested provides no relief or temporary relief if any. Basically we are lost.

Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh I have been practicing sikhi for a while now, I do nitnim everyday and I do naam simran as well everyday. I am still living at home with my parents who do not approve of me taking amrit and I have chosen to respect them on this until I move out and find my own place. In the meantime however, I have been living the life of an amritdhari essentially and this includes wearing a kirpan and I feel as though if they don't wish me to actually take amrit I can at least do as much as I can to be prepared when I do finally take it. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well. -

Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
