Why India is not safe for solo women Georgia Arlott recounts her gap year travels around India, during which sexual harrassment was a constant problem. By Georgia Arlott 10:18AM GMT 07 Jan 2013 It was in the second month of my gap year in India that I learned to get aggressive. It certainly didnt come naturally. Like most happy teenagers, my three friends and I left our all-girls school full of optimism and eager to please. But from the very first day in the vivid, colourful and thrilling country of India, wandering hands were a constant problem for all of us. Giddily piling into rickshaws, I was the first to discover that sitting in the front seat means that …

Why India Rejects the International Criminal Court A Study of India’s Post-Colonial Foreign Policy Identity This paper treats the rejection of the International Criminal Court (ICC) by the Republic of India. For long the academic community has neglected to put effort into scrutinizing the position of the Indian Union on the subject of an international criminal court, even though her stance on the subject is of special importance to the international community as one sixth of the world’s population was refused access to one of the principal human rights protection schemes of our post-modern time. However, despite the fact that the Indian population numbers over one bill…

Some Sikhs always ask why the Indian Government is so cruel to Sikhs and has tried to carry out ethnic cleansing. Why is it doing this to the Sikhs? Well, in answer to the above question, I think the below gives the reason why. The reason for the cruelty on the Sikhs has been clearly given in so many books by intellects, both Sikhs and non-Sikhs, for over a hundred years now. However, most Sikhs have not picked up on this. Below is one incident of this simple truth being given to us by a top non-Sikh official of India back in 1911. McAuliffe also stated the same after carry out some totally independent and unbiased research himself. Many others have picked up o…

The following article made me laugh.... In Rajasthan, they age too fast or too slow or just don’t… Jupinderjit Singh Tribune News Service Jaipur, November 17 For many candidates in Rajasthan, elections are a big joke. A good number of them from the BJP and the Congress have furnished age details that seriously differ from what they mentioned in the last election five years ago. Some have added nine to ten years to their age, others have become younger. Take Khushveer Singh of the Congress, contesting from Neem Ka Thana. He was 42 in 2003. This time, he has mentioned January 15, 1960, as his date of birth, which means he should have been 48 then to be 51 now. Only …

So Today is independence day and i am in NY there is a parade every year. And i was watching the parade. Well what i noticed was there was only some sikhs and only about 2 vehicles that showed gurus and our sikhi heroes like bhagat singh. While there were many hindus and others. I mean Sikhs gave uncountable sacrifices for the independence that india has now. It feels like hindus dont accept us or something. DO you think this is right? I mean if it wasnt for Sikhs India wouldn't have had this freedom. What do you think?

These forums are so dead. Most threads barely get any replies, and there are only a few posts each day. What have the mods accomplished by banning one of the most frequent posters?

Why is Sikh Channel not supporting the protest outside the Indian High Commission in London on 20 March in support of Balwant Singh? There has been no advertising, nothing on the scroll or any meaningful coverage on the various shows on the Sikh Channel. There have however been some who support Badal that have used Sikh Channel to condemn the protest ! Will the Sikh Channel come along tomorrow to cover the protest?

Noticed today that every forum section is the same whether logged in or not, exactly how it should be and how you would expect it to be. However, the Sikh Politics section and its sub forums are hidden unless you log in. Can I ask what the reasoning if any is behind this?
