  1. Sant Baba Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa would not talk when he was in the earlier stages of doing Bhagti. Sant ji would sit in his room for countless hours doing Bhagti. When he came out of his room, he would speak nothing of the world and eat little. Then go back and keep doing Bhagti. This is an important stage in your jeevan and the best thing to do is keep quiet (as your atma is telling you), have full faith in Satguru (you won't drift away from family), and keep doing Bhagti. Many people don't even get to this stage or many take western advice at this stage and lose many blessing they would have got. Then it's back to square one for them. Like Satguru says, if you want to play this game of love with me, then don't pay attention to public opinion (includes family) and give me your head. Satguru is guiding you closer to him. Many can't go for a second without talking because their mind is always racing....they have no peace in them. Some can't sit for a second with their eyes closed because they think this world is reality. A Gursikh can sit for hours quiet with their eyes closed because they know on all four sides they are protected by Sri Vaheguru Ji Maharaj and Maharaj is inside them.

  3. Panthic issues have come to the forefront following the decision to hang our great Gursikh brother bhai sahib bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana ji. Now is the time to also take action against the promotion of Sumedh Saini (alleged to have killed and tortured innocent Sikhs) to the Director General of Police in Punjab by our so called "panthic sarkar"- Akali Dal Badal. We must not let this disgraceful decision by Parkash Singh Badal go unnoticed. We need to put the Jathedars and panthic leaders on the spot and ask them to take strong action against this decision. I have a feeling that the promotion of the notorious Sumedh Saini will go unnoticed which will be terrible for the Sikh Panth. Who knows what he could do in the future following his past actions. There should be mass protests, especially in Punjab, to put pressure on Badal sarkar to reverse their decision. What kind of action needs to be taken? - (I think during speeches/protests for bhai Balwant Singh ji Rajoana we should also highlight the fact an enemy of the Sikh Panth is sitting at the top of the Punjab police and we will simply not accept this. For sure, bhai Balwant Singh ji Rajoana would have objected to the decision.) Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  4. That line you are quoting from GGS states that we are reborn because of our past karma. God is giving us another chance to get it right. It doesn't say that he is punishing some by making them born poor.

  5. My experience is the exact opposite. Apart from the holy shrines, the place is running on borrowed time. Society is depraved and corrupt from top to bottom. There's pockets of good here and there but not enough to instill confidence for any kind of change for the future. The materialism is off the scale, the potential for paap is around every corner. You go visit somebody's house and you're not sure what you'll bring back with you... :nono: But like I said, for me, the Gurudwaras are the only reason worth visiting Panjab; not just to stare at buildings but there really is a completely wonderful feeling of spirituality that I find to be worth suffering the negative experiences. EDIT: After reading the first paragraph in isolation it sounds like I could be describing any city on earth. :lol2:

  8. There not sikh weddings, there punjabi weddings. In sikh weddings the emphasis is on the anand karaj, with guru ji in mind, not what the films gona look like lol.

  10. When it comes to sikhi and kurbani then it doesn't matter what society do they belong to. Shaheeds came from all type of background. We should respect what they did for us and not get involved into such silly talks with no end.

  11. KaviSingh, how do you know? Kindly post any references that prove ONLY men did kirtan in those times. Do you think that during Guru Amardas Ji's time the Sikh Bibis who held a Peeree did parchar but for some reason they were not allowed to do Kirtan? Why is there such an allergic reaction to Bibis? We need to learn to be Sikhs of Guru Sahib and not blind followers of Sanatanism. We Sikhs keep making up rules as we go along, and then state that it is puratan maryada from Guru Ji's time. Take a look at the picture below from the 1970's. It has Bibi's sitting with the Singhs doing Kirtan at Sri Dabara Sahib. During that time one of the Bibi did do Kirtan, she was an American Sikh Bibi. Nowadays they will not even let a Bibi sit in that area. So much for equality or "Puratan Maryada". (Above) Sikh Bibis sit along with men reciting Kirtan at Sri Dabar Sahib during the 1970s. This is no longer allowed. (Below) Sikh Bibis recite Kirtan outside Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

  15. Well i dont think its a shy problem maybe she feels awkward around you, maybe you have given her some impression that she finds hard to deal with. If you have been talking to her for the last 9 months then generally speaking you must know a lot about each other by now to avoid being shy or being pushed away from you. Every girl is different at the stage of marriage its hard for a girl to fit in life after marriage. You have to make sure she feels welcome, marriage isnt always about touching you know maybe instead talk to her about having children in the near future that might help. It might just be a confidence issue being centre of attention being around people can be an anxity for certain girls. I think communication is key you need to talk to her about issues she feels uncomfortable with. You have noticed that she is shy then help her overcome this problem together dont ignore it.

  17. Singh# I disagree. Udham Singh was a Sikh freedom fighter, he wasn't to know what treacherous behaviour was to take place in the future. He avenged Jallianwala Bagh and showed the goray that they couldn't just do that and get away scot free. Look at how today, so many people bowl around who have butchured Sikhs. If there were more Sikhs like Udham Singh this sh1te wouldn't happen. Bhagat Singh was not a Sikh feedom fighter by most accounts (except Bhai Randhir Singh's). He was a Marxist from a Sikh background.
