  1. Also can you ask Baba Jee about Three kinds of Brahmgianis? Mastane,Divane, and Daane? As them when Sants reach a certain Avastha they don't have to follow rehat such as wearing Kakkars (kirpan) etc. Ask if this real, or just made up. Can a Gursikh ever remove his/her kirpan, no matter what their avastha is? I'll tell you what he's going to say about that. I've heard him talk about this. He'll say: Kes is Kakkar, but tying a Keski is very good.

  2. The big bad wolf, huffed and puffed and huffed and puffed, but the Hukam still remains to stay the same. Everyone is subject to Hukam. If we all read Sri Japji Sahib da paath with more care, in the first 3 pauris, we would be liberated. No one is beyond his Hukam. Rehat is Hukam. Everyone takes Amrit from the first Punj Pyare, whether that be today or in the 19 century because what those PUnj Pyare said will always hold true. Truth doesn't have an end or beginning, it is eternal and we Sikhs bow to this truth. Many wolves huff and puff all their life and they don't go anywhere, instead they get you stuck in the huffing and puffing. Stick to Hukam and these wolves can't blow your house (stick your mind and body in the mud of maya) down. 3. Khalsa Ji What you must realise is that the tandha paani referred to in Rehatnama is referring to the water from the nalka/ standpipe. Please note that the water from a nalka is lukewarm even in winter. The best thing to do is to shower with lukewarm water I.e. not freezing and not hot either.

  4. n30 singh, just suppose what are saying is true that these sants did wear jewellery, well did they ever talk about the fact they were wearing it, why etc? if these are simply the conlcusions you have drawn from just seeing them wearing jewellery, then they are simply that, your own conclusions. Unless you have any quotes from the sants you have mentioned we have no reason to believe that they agree with your reasoning, simply because some pictures show them wearing something. By the same token there are some sikhs who it would seem would call Guru Sahib kattar, superior fanatic for giving any hukam which does not fit in their hippy happy world! You see the problem with this approach is that it assumes that one actually knows something or has the ability to 'work towards passing the exams'. The fact is none of us know anything, we have no giaan and we have no way to even try to comprehend what Gurmat is. All we can do is in very childlike form attempt to follow everything our master tells us to do (even this we can't do). Anything else, any thoughts any reasoning any philosophical (fokat) analysis of our guru is as a matter of fact our ego. Lets have a look at a sakhi demonstrating the fruit of childlike innocence. Bear this in mind, no one ever has and ever will reach Vaheguru through any action of their own. Union will happen when Guru Sahib gets pleased with us. This can only be achieved through earnestly attempting to do everything he tells us to do. And when we do this there will be nothing left out as his hukam is perfect and all encompassing. Bhai Bela Ji was a Gursikh during the times of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He came to Guru Ji and asked if he could stay at Anandpur Sahib. Guru Ji consented so long as Bhai Bela agreed to partake in Seva. He was asked what form of Seva he wished to partake in, such as, langar seva, recite Bani or join the Guru’s army and fight in the battlefield. Bhai Bela replied that he could not cook, read Gurbani or knew how to use shashtars. Thus Guru Ji assigned Bhai Bela Ji the duty of looking after the horses and their stables. At the same time Bhai Bela Ji would be taught Gurbani by Guru Ji. Guru Ji started by teaching Bhai Bela Ji one line of the JapJi Sahib per day. Bhai Bela Ji would spend his whole day, whilst fulfilling his daily chores, repeating that same line. The following morning he would recite it back to Guru Ji to make sure that he had memorised it correctly, and thus he could progress and go on to learn the next line. One day, Bhai Bela Ji came to Guru Ji ready for his next lesson. However Guru Ji was busy and was preparing to go out. Just as Guru Ji was about to leave, Bhai Bela Ji got in the way saying, “Guru Ji, I am ready for my next lesson. I want to learn the next line of JapJi Sahib.” Guru Gobind Singh Ji replied, “Bhai Bela, na vakhat veecharai naa veyla” meaning, “Bhai Bela, you are not considering the circumstances I am in; I am busy and must go out.” Yet Bhai Bela Ji was so innocent and obedient, that he understood Guru Ji’s comment to be the next line of the JapJi Sahib and spent his whole day practising the phrase. When the other Sevadaars heard Bhai Bela Ji, they started laughing and began mocking him. But Bhai Bela Ji ignored them and continued reciting the phrase, eager to learn it well so that he could please Guru Ji the next morning by reciting it correctly. The following morning when Bhai Bela Ji went to meet Guru Ji, the rest of the Sevadaars had gathered there as well. They wanted to see Guru Ji get angry with Bhai Bela Ji for incorrectly reciting the JapJi Sahib. However, when Bhai Bela Ji recited the line “Bhai Bela, na vakhat veecharai naa veyla,” Guru Ji instead got up and embraced Bhai Bela Ji. Guru Ji said, “this is what a true Sikh is. He does not allow his own intelligence to get in the way of his Guru’s words. He believes his Guru’s Bachan to be 100% true and does not consider his own intellect to be above that of his Guru’s.” Too often we judge ourselves to be cleverer and more knowledgeable than our Guru. Bhai Bela Ji sacrificed himself entirely to the Guru’s words. He was so innocent, subservient and obedient that he placed his faith entirely in the Guru’s Bachan, forsaking his own mind and intellect. May Guru Ji bless us with such pyaar, sharda and faith to forever live according to His Hukam, which is conveyed to us through His Shabad. 6. I found the answers to the questions I posted so you don't need to ask Sant Hari Singh ji. From sant Isher Singh ji's audio and videos. Basically Ajaamal and Ganikha obtained sackhand/baikunt. Sant isher singh clarifyes this in the audio below. http://www.sikhroots.com/audio/Lectures/Sant%20Baba%20Isher%20singh%20Ji%20-%20Rara%20Sahib/Sant_Isher_Singh_Ji_-_Ganka_(Gaie_Baikunth_Bivaan_ChaSant_Isher_Singh_Ji.mp3 23 mins - sant ji talks about how the mahapuraks helped liberate ganika. Even though she japped raam she still got to sachkand. 67 - 75 mins - sant ji says baikunt in her case was sachkand. The video below 4 mins+ sant ji describes heaven/indarpuri as being temporary not peacful and a place where you get all your wants - the people who get here are ones that do simran but still have desires and are not detached. But baikunt as permanant peace ie. sachkand; only get this without desires. Also he confirms the meanings of baikunt in the audio I have stated above. So ajaamal ganika all got sachkand even though they japped raam/naraayan according to Sant Isher Singh Ji.

  7. This is an awesome question to ask, thanks for bring it up. But let's think about it ourselves! In Sri Sukhmani Sahib Da Paath, we are told Brahmgyani and Vaheguru are one and the same. So the question that arise, once someone says there are 3 kinds of Brahmgyanis. How many kinds of Vaheguru`s are there? Let's put it in a different way. There is Vaheguru, SatGuru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj, and 10 Gurus in human body. How many kinds of Gurus are there? A person might say there are three, but Gurmukhs laugh and say there is only One!!!! Also how many Hukam's are there? Again the answer here is only One. The Hindus proclaimed that there was the Creator, the Perserver, and the Destroyer. Again the answer to such a statement was that, there is only One. And about following Rehat. How many truth are there? Does Truth ever contradict itself. Some are stuck on chitr and Gupt, all they see is good and bad. Rehat is neither good or bad, it is above such low thinking and Rehat is the truth. When Satguru says Satnaam in Sri Mool Mantar Sahib, Rehat is the Sat, which came from Vaheguru. Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj tells us the Khalsa is his everything and strength. Khalsa built on Rehat.....so Satguru says Rehat is my strength. It again comes back to Sat (Truth) is my strength. You can't separate Truth from the One (Vaheguru). The truth and the one (Vaheguru) are the same. Truth is not a attribute of Sri Vaheguru Ji Maharaj in the Sargun form. Truth is one with Akal Purakh in the formless. There is only One.

  10. I just wanted to point my take on rehat, its on that thread- people can read it to seek clarification- http://www.sikhsanga...post__p__533992 I think at this point both sides have put their argument. It's bit redundant and counter productive for me to repeat (especially my first and last post prior to this one). If person reads this thread in totality and read the discussion in context, they will understand the point not necessarily agree or disagree but just simply understand, which bhai sahib harbhajan singh yogi and i managed (vahiguroo kirpa) tried to make. Also, surely the way points are made needs improvement..will keep striving for improvement so it does not come across as hurtful/koraie shabad and cause disunity within sikhs. During my research i.e- listening to gurbani/gurmat katha's of various diverse sikh sants of various different natures (daanie, divaine, mastane). I came to conclusion - sri guru nanak dev ji have a huge garden with different unique flowers, branches which co-exist, have co-existed, will co-exist despite of any attempts to destroy it( unity is in diversity), and they all have spread the fragrance of diversity all leading back to the root of Naam. Despite having difference of opinions and being unique and different flower in the garden/different school of thoughts, despite of which side of gurmat coin your surti resides. Despite of all that, we all must go back to naam simran. Naam is which bind us all together just like how mala beads are in binded in one thread. I think most of us can agree - times running out, each second which passes away without jap of vahiguroo is wasted and we are all guilty of it one way or another (off course including me). After all this human form life is only our chance to meet gobind- Gobind milan ki eh teri bariya || I will retire from this thread now. Hopefully, one day if maharaj does kirpa will retire from everything which is causing hindrance to naam simran.

  13. a wise gurmukh once said, to wash somthing, you dont go strait to cold shower. hot shower loosens the dirt from an object first. wash dishes to learn this simple truth.. the reason behind having a cold shower shud be researched.. y we are to have a cold shower. there are lots of benifits. main benifit, as always in sikhi, is naam simran. having a cold shower, (or even waterboarding yourself! ) gives you control over your body's involuntry mechanisms. whether that be anger, sexual things, or just sheer control over your mind. this is why cold shower is recomended in rehetnamas. i have hot shower! but not too hot.. and then i cool down with a cold shower. personally, i find, whatever the weather outside, thats the type of shower u shud have cuz if its too hot outside, n u have a cold shower, after the shower, you will feel hotter!so if u in india, have a hot shower etc.. it conditions the body.. and jut to say, having a reely hot shower (not burning urself obviously) is just like having a cold shower. as this hot shower reely does wake u up in the morning wen ur feeling lathargic. its al about conttroling your body. so decide yourself whatever type of shower leads you to do that fateh!

  15. I wouldnt go to that extreme, as I know a few Sikhs awho are new to this path, and their Panjabi is abysmal, but they are working on it. To me that is the key, we should be developing our Panjabi skills. All of us. Some of the younger Sikhs on Sikh Channel or Sikh TV make me cringe with their Panjabi speaking.

  19. So the legend of Sant Baba Mani Singh was true. This is just so overwhelming. I grew up hearing the story that great mahapurash was born and living in Birmingham. Now all the bits fit into place and everything makes sense. Many of my relatives were privalged to have the darshan of the older form of Sant Baba Mani Singh back in the 1950s/60s in Africa, they always told me that Sant Ji was a tyar bar tyar GurSikh from the time of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and Sant ji often told them about his recollections from Maharaj's army. Back in the 80's the story that Sant ji had been born again in the UK was discussed amongst the East African GurSikhs (mainly within the Nishkam Jatha) and I overheard the story a few times as a child. I suppose the sceptic side of me never expected it to be true, but now we find out that Sant Mani Singh was really there.
