  2. It appears no one properly read the mahapurkh story in this thread. For normal people, the concept of jhoot exists. Now many people won' t get this but daas will still write henceforth. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE HIGHER AATMAK AVASTHAAS, THE VISION CHANGES LITERALLY AND THEY MAY NOT SEE JOOTH BUT WILL SEE GURUJI IN ALL AND THEREFORE MAY CONSUME 'JHOOTH' AS PARSHAD. when one sees parkash everywhere, then what is jhooth?

  4. This sakhi is not related to ordinary humans. This relates to a sikh who has elevated his consciousness to a higher level. There is a difference between ordinary souls like us and elevated souls like of Bhai Jodh ji. What your mundane mind thinks is left over is not left over.Bhai Jodh ji was a sikh of higher avastha and he knew things in much better perspectives than ordinary minds. The fact that Bhai Jodh ji's name is recorded in Bhai Gurdas ji dee vaar, there is no doubt that he was a sikh of higher avastha who had earned blessings of Guru Sahib. I find no reason to cast doubt on this sakhi. Sakhis are an integral part of sikhi.

  9. http://gurmatbibek.com/forum/read.php?3,30144 According to Sikhan di Bhagat Mala and Sooraj Prakash, Bhai Jodh Jee Rasoiya was a Hazoori Sikh of Sri Guru Angad Dev Sahib Jee/Sri Guru Amar Daas Sahib Jee. Bhai Jodh Jee was formally a Brahmin by caste before becoming a Sikh of Guru Sahib. He used to do seva in langar and prepare the food for Guru Sahib and the Sikh Sangat without any pride over doing so. Sikh Sangat used to bring monetary offerings and give them to Bhai Jodh Jee, he would faithfully submit everything at the feet of Guru Sahib and use the money only for preparing langar. Bhai Jodh Jee used to think however much seva I get a chance to do the better off I will be. All the food that he prepared in langar was distributed during the day, he would keep nothing for the next day if anything was left over he would take it and feed it to the animals outside. If there were not any animals around to eat the spare langar he would throw it in the river. If there was even any water left in the gaagar (vessel/pot) he would also spill that and not keep it for the next day; what to speak of food. In this fashion, Bhai Jodh Jee faithfully obeyed the hukam of Guru Sahib and with great love and wisdom performed the seva of Guru ka Langar. Bhai Jodh Jee would eat whatever food was left over from langar, in this way Bhai Jodh Jee passed his days in seva. He would serve all Sikhs as Sangat of Guru Sahib with great devotion. If a visiting Sikh ever came he would always get langar ready and serve it to him or her without delay. Bhai Jodh Jee was never lazy and would always dispel the hunger of all who visited Guru Sahib’s langar. As well as cooking the food, he also used to clean the used dishes of the sangat. Seeing this seva of Bhai Jodh Jee’s Sri Gurdev Jee was very happy and did the kirpa of Sat-Naam Daan-Gyaan on him. Bhai Jodh Jee’s pains of janam-maran were dispelled and he obtained a great state of Anand.

Personal attacks upon people for expressing a thought that may be wrong, not explained correctly or simply misunderstood appear to be common reposte among a select few. I have recognised this UGLY trend and now no longer respond to these fools. A word of advice to those of who we speak: Better to remain silent and be considered a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Have they not seen people taking charan amrit at Harmandir sahib har ki pauri. They will mock that also. History is part and parcel of sikhi.Tomorrow they will ask their parents how are you sure that thier grandfather was in fact their grandfather.

  16. It's likely pigs have human traits due to the period of time they have been domesticated for farming purposes and how eloquent of a dish pork is in comparison to other animals. If you compare pigs kept in the east they have adapted to have different traits. Besides that hybrid animals can't reproduce such as mules there are alot of complications in that and even if his theory is correct it doesn't take the much effort just to observe in a lab dish when both species are mixed to see the outcome. It would be interesting if it's possible to reproduce animals which are closer to use and easier to study upon without protesters interfering as much, the research could help produce a cure for every known illness if for example stem cell research was conducted more openly. The lack of hair in humans is already theorized to do with humans which may have lived in watery conditions helping them move about in water more easily.

  17. If you read Ashtpadhi 21, Sri Sukhmani Sahib, that explains why Waheguru creates the us, and why he plays the game. He creates demons, and deities. As kids, when we wanted to play a game of cards, play chess etc, we had to find an opponent, otherwise the game couldn't be played. Why do people enjoy going into a maize? Why do people enjoy playing games? It's the same with Waheguru... It is a cruel world, in terms of pain and suffering, but there exists remedy too; Waheguru expects us to follow Gurbani. Guru Nanak Ji came to earth in the purest form. I.e. aap Naryan kala Dhaar...to show us the way to salvation. He creates 4 yugs, turn by turn, and then wraps everything up, until he wants to do it all over again. The world is a cruel place; perhaps that's why 10th Patshahi in Jaap Sahib describes Waheguru as kroor Karmeh. I.e. doer of cruel things, but Maharaj does namo to that aspect of Waheguru too... Waheguru....

  23. I'm confused, someone said people have no free will. Do we have free will? Or does God do everything? So do we make a decision to Jap Naam, or does waheguru make certain people jap naam? If wahguru does make everything happen then why do we get good or bad karam? We did not choose to do something, waheguru made us do it. So why are we rewarded or punished for that deed? Or did that guy get it completely wrong?

It would have better as i mentioned if this was held at US embassy/UN in India for maximum impact. There are different levels of art of wars applied at different different circumstances and levels may be its not a right time but then again who i am to know bhai sahib ji faith..if faith is 100 percent on guru sahib it will have maximum impact via its own unique beauty and form. Who said Marjiva sikhs have normal life style..Their unique anukhi acharaj gurmukh life styles defies logics of kalyugi jev like us..!

  31. Do what majority of the Jews do, they don't celebrate Christmas either and neither is the childhood of their children ruined by not celebrating Christmas. until this modern westernized Sikh generation, all the previous Sikh generations for the last few centuries grew up without Christmas, and they were better Sikhs than us. Celebrating other religious holidays will only turn kids into a Hardeghi Chamach when they grow up. We can always get a family get togather by visiting each other, going to Gurdwaras but celebrating Christmas, Mawlid, Eid, Janamastmi etc is not necessary nor required for a Sikh family.

Saram Khand: the realm of spiritual endeavour (pauri 36),4. Karam Khand: the realm of grace, (pauri 37) and5. Sach Khand: the realm of Truth (pauri 37).http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Five_Khands This is before sehaj and jog happen to give mukhti when total unity occurs of soul atma and super soul par-atma

  34. Oh jonny.,.....? Gyan is ultimate knowledge. One can only apply what he has learned and read. Therefore simply reciting Shabads and Gurbani without applying them to your very being and projecting them in your outwardly gestures is but a hollow gesture. This is but the plurality of Sikhi, our Guru is completed with Bhagats aswel, of all our Bhagats how many of us can say we know someone of that jhaat?? We read Gurbani yet isolate ourselves from our wider community. This is just one example, but it exists and thats an argument for another thread. Times that example by twenty little minute gestures a day, even a single prejudicial thought in a long hard week. What i'm failing miserably at, is to explain that i think your mistaking Mukhti with Gyan. You see, Gurbani will give the understander Mukhti by laying open the path to the world but that is a mental journey, your actual human body must relate that to the actions of the real/physical world. Most of us with me at the front of the queue, believe that we already do this, but actually don't. This process is not limited to time so charsi lakh jhoon should be ample, but your whole life getting Gurbani and ultimately Naam to be, not only our every thought but literally every breath and action......that is when all your pains are gone and life is tranquil and serene......heaven on earth until its time to leave......hence its only with Ghristi Jivan that Gurbani and Naam the true nector will be awarded you. Again with the personal insults, this is only the thoughts of one student and as its been mentioned a couple of times bhul chuk maaf kardeyo

  35. a little over a hundred years ago, there were many Sikhs who were celebrating Hindu and Islamic holidays and practices. When Singhs would remind such Sikhs that this is not how a Sikh should behave but such Sikhs would make clever arguements and all sorts of Bahanas as to why they should celebrate religious festivals of other religions. Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha observed these Sikhs and referred to them as Hardeghi Chamach and wrote the following poem: Devi ko bhagat kabhee meera ko upaasha hai, Daas Sultan ko au kabhee Laal-Beghi hai|| (Depending on the circle and situation, sometimes he becomes a worshipper of Devi and at other times of Meera. Sometimes they serve Sultan (a sect of Islam) and at other times they become Laal-Beghi (another sect of Islam)) Mann meh hai aur ar mukh maahe dooji baat, Param Pakhandi, nakh Sikh Lau farebee hai|| (He has one thing in mind and something else on his tongue. He is a Param Pakhandi i.e. a great hyprocrite and a deceiver) Swarath ko maan hai, mukh parmaarath tain, Nimboo ko nichod agai karat rakebi hai || (From inside they have worldly reasons and aspirations but from tongue they speak of holyness and religion. They crush others as a lemon is crushed) Singh roop dhaari anai matt ko parchaari bhaari, Panth ko nikaaray jo chamach Hardeghi hai || (Such pakhandi adopts the appearance of a Singh but always sticks up or stands up and preaches other faiths. Such person who undermines Panth is a Hardeghi Chamach) Taken from :http://www.tapoban.org/forum/read.php?1,6055

  37. Guru Nanak Ji came to earth as the pure embodiment of Waheguru, I.e. not under any influence of maya. We came to earth, as embodiment of Waheguru, but under the influence of maya. As jeevs, Waheguru is under the influence of maya in that role, but at the same time, he remains detached: Electricity is powering my computer, the computer is not electricity, the computer is electricity roop. If I smash my computer, that will not affect the national grid electricity supply. Waheguru adopts the two roops, I.e. Sargun and nirgun. On a sunny day we place 100 buckets of water in the garden, the suns rays reflect in each bucket, that does not mean that there are 100 individual suns, there is only one sun, but 100 reflections. If we destroy one bucket, have we destroyed the sun? If we destroy all buckets, the sun still remains intact. Waheguru is within us, and separate at the same time. If you look in the mirror, you will see your face. If you look into 100 angled mirrors, you will see 100 of you, but in reality, you are one, not 100. Waheguru has the ability to ek and anek, at the same time. Just as the sun remains detached from the buckets of water, but gives its rays to the water, just as the 100 mirrors cause the illusion of you being 100; in the same way Wahegurus pritibimbh is within us, in reflection form, but separate, at the same time too... Waheguru...
