  1. Sikhism does not preach conversions but deras do. For them it is, "more the merrier."

  2. I've said it time and again, our problems are our own making because we really are extremely poorly educated compared to the Hindus and Muslims. And I'm deliberately mentioining Muslims there because as any doctor or hospital worker in the UK knows our hospitals are choc a block full of hijab wearing muslim girls who have become doctors. The Pakistanis really do value the sciences alot. We though, have a very serious problem on our hands and though its showing now its gonna become even more clearer within the next 15-20 yers because so many Sikh youngsters are getting into Sikhi because of popular parcharaks but those popular parcharaks actually blatantly tell the youngsters that the only importnt thing is to learn to do path etc. They actively tell the youngsters that education is just an afterthought that doesn't really matter that much in the bigger scheme of things. We've seriously got big problems coming our way. And its all relevant to the issue about Malhi and Southall Singh Sabha Gurdwara because the problem there stems directly from a lack of education....lack of political know-how etc. I'll tell you what I mean: Any of you who live in west London will know how the Southall Singh Sabha elections operate in the exact same way the elections in Punjab operate, i.e through mob rule, intimidation and corruption. Total mayhem at election time. Our dads and uncles are forced, intimidated, co-erced and driven to the elections. It is total madness. Lack of education by the young because the young could, if they knew how, understand that the Gurdwara is a registered charity and such voting tactics need to be reported to the charity commission for investigation and ultimate sanction. So yes, our leaders, such as Malhi are exrement. But thats only because we're exrement too. A people get the leaders they deserve.

  3. Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindran Wale Mahapurkh used to say that when someone is thirsty and they don't have access to clean water, they drink dirty water to survive. In that same way, those people who do not have access to the true Giaan of Sikhi, will start looking elsewhere, i.e. deras

  4. In a democracy the rot starts at the bottom. Leaders are only a reflection of the people who elected them. Look in India how everyone gives and takes rishwat(bribe) or how you may get a job based on who you know(sifaarish). When sgpc elections happen why are those politicians elections who gave out the most sharaab? Because they know the jantaa is corrupt to the core. People are so far away from Sikhi. The only solution to our problems is Sikhi. The Sarbat Khalsa should have made parchar top priority. Sikhs are a stronger nation if they are strong in the observance of Gurus rehits

  5. Yes , but who put Malhi into the position he is in ? The sangat of Southall and members of Singh Sabha Gurdwara. The fault is within our own sangats, why do they elect such people into positions of power where they think they then represent the Sikh community. The same can be said of Badal in Punjab. Who voted for him and put him into power ? The people of Punjab. Until people stop selling out their votes cheaply for bottles of whiskey etc this won't change.

  7. I rarely swear nowadays, but that article in the first post had me effing and blinding. What absolute tosh! He thinks he can "erase things from the Net" just like that? Stupid, arrogant Indian. Blame his Hindu paymasters in Delhi (and we must), but WE must shoulder some of the responsibility for unleashing this monster on Punjab and Sikhs. Men like this are rarely held accountable for their evils whilst they toxify this world with their presence, but it's little consolation that this lower class of life-form will have to answer for his misdemeanours when he's departed from this world. Although one wonders why God allows such characters to rise to prominence in the first place. BTW, what's with the "pedo" label? Is he one? If not, why's he being labelled as one? Doesn't make sense. It's like calling a white guy a "p*ki" there's no logic behind it. Stick to the facts, otherwise it gets confusing.

  8. Brother Kishyahu, there is no mystery in the Name Wahiguru, it is all maginficence, it is all wonder, it is beyond any words, beyond imagination..... In short, it is the Creator Himself. It is verily true, what you have written above in these lines . "WAHEGURU is the door to Salvation or Gati of Human Soul. WAHEGURU is source to reveal/teach mysteries in scripture. WAHEGURU is the healer of body and mind. WAHEGURU is Echd or Ek onkar. WAHEGURU is eternal truth and Amrit. Without WAHEGURU there is no AMRITBANI." But let us not be confused, Waheguru Himself is not a word in any language, is a Conscious Power of Supreme Heights. You see there where He is, He has no shape, size, color ...... Well then, we may ask if He is, and has no colour, size, form... what is it that He is. The Bani says, He is Shabad, He is Naam, it also says : Jug Charey Naam ootam, Shabad veechar. Means, throughout the 4 ages, or we can say, at all times,He is, in His Naam or Shabad swaroop. Guru Jee also gives us hints about Him at several places in the Bani. They refer to Him, as the source of Light, when in Aartee, we recite: Sabh meh Jot, Jot hae see. This means, He is present in all as souls, with His particle of life giving light, as He himself is the True eternal Light. Then Third Patshahee reveals us in His Bani Anand Sahib, another quality of this Consciouss pervading energy, when He says: Nam jinke man vaseeya, vajeh Shabad ganere. Means, when the Gurmanter has been firmly established in our minds firmly, we listen that Amrit Bani within, as unstruck divine melody within us. First Patshahee tells us in Jap Ji Sahib, that when our minds listen that divine melody within, we break and get freed forever from the chains, which bind us in this mayavee creation, and are the cause of our pain and sorrow, in the form of sins and karmas. I have gone through several religions by studying them, but Sikhee or Gurmat by far is the best... not because of any outer reasons, but becuase, if practiced faithfully as per Bani literally, without any manmat additions or substractions, it is a direct path to Wahiguru. Sat Sree Akal.

  12. Hi Christian convents were originally places to dump women when parents wanted their daughters controlled and not become a burden see 'Gailieo's Daughter' , true a percentage of women dedicated themselves as you described by it was mostly treated as a place to keep your womenfolk 'on the straight and narrow' while you were absent from their lives . Monasteries, convents and ashrams are a kind of self-imposed distancing from the world , which if you think about is kind of selfish because you have found a good path but you don't want to share it or increase the compassion and positivity in the world by interacting with the wider community? Like most things worthwhile it does takes effort and dedication but please don't imprison yourself , turn it outwards join a sewa group like SWAT or Nishkam Sewa or Midland Langar , find out if there is a women's group doing paat and kirtan at the Gurdwara , if there isn't maybe start one with others (sorry I am assuming you are female because of the questions) , even online chat group working through basics of sikhi katha/bani videos would be a way of being less isolated . I grew up in a neighbourhood where we were the only sikh family for years so I understand what you are feeling , and yes I had that whole 'nun' thing too , it's funny but I found out that a lot of different faith girls go through that desire . I think it is the soul just wanting to get solid naam abhihaas (practice) down while you are young and unattached . I tell my kids the same, start while you are young because you haven't done anything bad in your lives yet so you can cut down a lot of the old stuff(karmic) in this time. these guys in white clothes , it might all be show just cos someone looks holy they might not be really , you don't need to risk your precious time on a baba when you have the true word and guaranteed path of Guru ji to guide you always. If you feel like learning or discussing stuff there are a lot of English articles and translations out there in internetland . I'd be happy to keep you company .
