  2. Do an Ardas to Waheguru to help you through this. Have your doctors suggested counselling? If not, tell your doctor how it's affecting you and ask for help with that side too.

  4. Best to fly to Amritsar. The anti Amritsar lobby in Delhi and Chandigarh won't allow it though.

  5. From my experience, some of these are as lost, or moreso, than the types they consider to be beneath them. It's just that on the surface they seem like the idealised representation of what a Sikh should be. Again, it's this propensity to view Sikhi as some kind of social club; it's not! All the heavy lifting has to be done on an individual basis. Yes, draw inspiration from others, but once you start using it as a crutch, you'll get nowhere. It's just substituting one kind of social setting for another; albeit one that, at first glance, appears less destructive, but scratch the surface and you'll realise that just because these religious individuals aren't consumed by the need to consume alcohol and other intoxicants, that doesn't mean they aren't riddled with arguably more destructive vices that the naked eye can detect.

  6. I'm not from this background and I've grown up around drinkers and later drug-takers, so don't think you are the only one. You sound like you're getting the violin out mate. How old are you now? When are you going to start to make a distinction between who and what is good for you and who and what aren't? Don't get upset if some momma's boys 'Gursikhs' gave you the cold shoulder in the past. I wouldn't want to mix with such people anyway. Just get some decent hobbies going on and stop being a sheep brother. Find better things to do with your spare time.

  8. You've fallen off the wagon. Look at why you have fallen off the wagon, correct those mistakes. Don't blame Sikhi for this, take accountability for your action. Sikhi gives you the clarity to see the action you have taken and then gives you a solution. It gives you the bir rass and the chardikala to overcome this obstacle. If you hanging around your cousins is causing you taking up drinking again. Simple avoid your cousins. Pick up yourself up, dust yourself off and get yourself back on the wagon. This time you will be better than the last time.

  9. Until you seriously start naam simran....you will keep slipping. Your blog should now focus on what steps you are deciding to take into sikhi. No one directly told you to stop blogging. Its time to put into action all the advise people have given you. Everyone on here is all for your support. The source of all your failures is your amazing ability to place a stumbling block before you yourself fall over it and then blame the block. That is called mun mat... not gur mat. Get rid of that and you have amazing potential. If you put all that effort into naam simran you may be the person advising us lost souls and not vice versa.

  11. Dear guest, take this your present condition of being alone as a blessing in disguise. Whole world is trying to get out from maya and find a place of solace to try to meditate at His Lotus Feet, and you while being amidst the world, you have the perfect envoirements to do His bhakti. You are realizing the truth of our state in this world, that we have come alone and we shall go alone. We belong to none, and nobody is ours. Almost the whole world is entangled strongly with maya , thus struggling to detach from it. And you with His grace, are almost ready... Now tell the mind to shut up, enough of its nonsense, then firmly and faithfully dedicate yourself in His bhajan bandagee without wavering. The Bani says: Prabh ka Simran sabh tay oocha. So do His Simran regularly without fail, and gather this spiritual wealth of His Naam Simran, as much as you can, as it is the only wealth you can carry with you, and it is the only visa accepted in His Darbar, and it is the source of true happiness or bliss, cause no matter whatever else you may do, or are told to do. Because you are then not following any man made laws, but His Hukum, as per Bani, and the Bani of our Guru Sahibans is unique and the highest. So cheer up, and be thankful barambaar to Sachay Patshah Wahiguru Akal Purukh. The Bani says: Sukhmani, sukh Amrit Prabh Naam. His Naam, is the panacea for all our ills, and the unending fountain of permanent true happiness, throughout all yugas. Sat Sree Akal.

  12. The only thing "funny" about it is the fact that we Punjabis are living under the rule of a foreign nation (India) who only assumed power over Punjab because of the lies, untruths and damnright fraudulent promises they made to the Sikhs in 1947. The only thing "funny" is that these poeple that were once sovereign and the regional power have been reduced to a slave like existence by their occupiers (India) whereby the one and only chance for their daughter or son to get a job is by claiming 'protective backward class' status......the one and only chance their son and daughter can get that place in the good schools and colleges is by claiming protective backward class' status.....the one and only chance their son or daughter can get in the police force is by claiming 'protected backwrd class' status......the one and only chance their son or daughter can get a civil service job is to claim 'protected backward class' status. When a status quo such as this exists we find out the true intellectual quality of the observers. Those lacking brain cells see it as an excuse to beat those that wish their children to have jobs rather than an idle life. The intellectually mature meanwhile, recognise that it is imperative that Punjab is freed from that obscene, immoral, unethical, barbaric foreign rule of India.

  13. Dear harsimran jee, such a touching relate of yours, while reading it, it is like actually seeing it. First of all, congrats for being so brave and mature. Then, I do understand your father´s condition, if it is not too much, i would say your father needs a bit of love, to gain self confdence again. Give him a hug several times a day, make him feel, he is being loved...then you shall may see quite a bit of positive transformation in him. Love works wonders. Some times, some elders are children, and some times, some youngsters are mature...nobody is perfect. Man sometimes have to face, negative atmosphere at work, the bosses usually think, that by employing the employee, he /she has got a slave servant as well, not so much in the west, but quite predominant in our "hindustani" culture. They will pay a dollar for example, but will drink more than a litre of his/her blood....so disgusting, so irritating. Such a mean and a dirty mentality. Destiny has put a bit of weight on your shoulders at such a young age, but nevertheless, pray Wahiguru, to give you strength and courage,so that you may fulfill your duties decently towards both of your parents. Mothers are of course important, but fathers are also. I know a close friend, whose father passed away about 20 years ago, but yet, he misses him a lot...and he says that, he may turn 100 years some day, but even then, he will miss the warmth and the protective hand of his father over his head. Harsimran jee, that Wahiguru which you mention is in your father, is very much in each one of us also in the same measure. So if He can listen other´s ardas, why not yours? Of course we shall do ardas also, but, let us not forget, He does not keep Himself hidden, nor deaf for some ....He loves each one of us, much more we can ever imagine, it is our receptivity which counts in feeling His presence in us Just give Him a call full of love, He will surely listen to you and assist you. He is our only Rakhanhaar, our Palanhaar, our Sajjan, our Preetam.... And to call Him, it is no other thing, than doing His Simran. The Bani says: Vin boleeya sabh kich jaanda, kis aagay keejay ardas. May Wahiguru bless you and your family. Sat Sree Akal.
