  1. Where were all the other Sikh organisations/Gurdwara committees? No where, worse than useless, they all knew. In fact, some were involved in the cover up. It took a bibi from Canada to bring this stuff to light. Gurdev Nihang Nidar Singh Ji was one of the only people who stood squarely behind the victim in full support. And bhenji, I hope you're not implying that we should doubt the credibility of the accusations simply because Nidar Singh Ji is supporting and helping the victim (a task which no other Sikh organisation did)? I'm not sure how much experience you've had with abuse of any kind, but that's not how it works, especially when it comes to grooming etc. The psychological abuse in some of these cases is tremendous!

  2. He's a predator and an abuser. The case of him breaking the jaw of my friend as part of the "punj pyare " is well known. I also know the bhenji who's husband helped one of Sukhas sexual abuse victims. Benti to Sukhas defenders/fanboys: if you still wish to associate with Sukha, fine, go for it. But for the love of God I beg of you, keep your kids away from him. Your children should not need to suffer because of your blind ignorance ????????.

  3. When the wasps came looking for my family members, it was local protestant informants that brought them. My Great Great Grandmother didn't know her son was upstairs in a crawl space, after having been out all night fighting. The soldiers came with the informant and demanded to know where he was and she said "He's probably out freezing in the bog poor fool". The soldiers started to search the hut, but the local said "This woman has never told a lie in her life" and so they departed without finding her son.

  5. Some did, bro, as crazy as it sounds. There were high-ranking Jews in the Nazi establishment. Same as when some Indians collaborated with the Brits during Empire. It's a common thing, working with a larger, more powerful entity against your own kind.

  6. The world is a shitty place because of people like these who will sell their souls for maya. Our gurus were right when they talked about conquering your mind to escape the grasps of maya.

  8. This topic made me reflect over many decades, and thinking about it, the abuse of males hasn't been uncommon to varying degrees. Growing up like I did, I was always a bit on the wary side for some reason (call it being streetwise and not trusting - probably am even more so now), but on thinking about it, there's been a lot of attempts at grooming males that I'm aware of. For feral kids like I was, it was just another one of those dangers you had to duck and dive around. With Guru ji's kirpaa I was spared the kind of stuff we are reading about or maneuvered around it. But yes, I think it's infinitely more common than it seems on the surface. I had a lecturer on a psychology course I did many many years ago (Scottish fellow named Stuart Millar) who was/is a renown expert on this stuff, as well as child development. He told me a lot of stuff that I found hard to believe back then about how prevalent it is. I now know what he was saying was bang on point, it's just society (and me) wasn't ready to hear it back then. This is a sickening subject that fills one with revulsion. If I ever pluck up the stomach, maybe I'll share my perspective and experiences on this. For now I'll just say that boys needs bros. We talk a lot about female peer bonding, but not about male. A vulnerable male(whether through personality, family issues or straight innocence), who is looking for this sense of brotherhood/friendship, is ripe for abuse, and as we all know (or should by now!) predators naturally hone in to this. At least we are at a place where we can discuss it now, and have forums/technology that can reach masses. It's another battle to fight.

  9. Do you guys believe that some people actually die and then come back to life because it wasn't their time yet? My mom told me that her grandfather who was a very religious man had died . The body was wrapped in a cloth and was in their home the entire night as it was supposed to be cremated early morning. When it was morning and the body was supposed to be taken for cremation, he suddenly woke up and all the people who were sitting near his body( like friends and neighbors) got so shocked and ran away on seeing him awake. My mom's grandfather said that some singhs with white beards had come to take him somewhere and on the way they even gave him parshaad. But when they reached there they were informed that it was the wrong person and that it was the death time of another man with the same name as my moms grandfather and that they brought him back as it wasn't his time yet. Do you guys believe this could be true? I have heard people saying that when you are a deeply religious sikh who has done good in life that shaheed singhs come to take your soul when its the time of your death which is similar to my mom's grandfather's story. But then i've heard some Christians who had NDEs say they saw god and he looked like a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes lol. So what is true? Even if these people are dreaming then how come the dream is always related to death? How come they never have dreams related to other scenarios?

  12. How many gurdwaras are there in the UK? 10 miles is legit nothing. That's like 16km. My closest gurdwara is almost 10 miles away from my house and before lockdown we used to go twice a week. Some of my family and mates live 20 miles from the closest gurdwara, and they go once or twice a week as well.

  13. That won't solve the problem in the West. Why? Because when NRI Sikhs get into prominent and influential positions where they can make a noticeable impact that will benefit their own people, they're overcome with a torrential feeling of sarbat da bhalla (either derived from a religious or a secular sense). The urge to show the world our impeccable egalitarian values means we end up forgetting - at precisely the worst moment for us - why we fought so hard to reach there in the first place. We also seem to believe these opportunities are infinite and will consistently circle around to us whenever we require them because apparently you get what you desire in this world. Naive is a kind word. Stupidity is another.

  14. Yup we have too many snakes in our panth. These people look evil just by looking at them. Idk if its being judgemental but i feel like every person has an aura around them that lets our instincts know whether they are good or bad.

  17. It's like 15th century Punjab all over again. Approach the district Mughal officer for permission to construct a kaffir house of prayer. ? Most of you think this is going to be indefinitely sustainable going forwards into the future. It won't.

  18. Yes, the shame and guilt for male victims is more pronounced, because of what you've said above; the idea that a male (even a male child!) should've "fought off" the sicko, and because he couldn't overpower him, the male is gay or he wanted it, or something equally as nonsensical. Just my theory, but there's probably an internationally huge mass of young male victims of abuse who keep it all to themselves out of sharam, which is arguably a contributor to the high male suicide rates and the rest of it.

  19. Yes, but in certain areas. I grew up in a small E. London town with a relatively small Sikh population which still had it's own Gurdwara from the 80s. It was a short walking distance from my mom's house. What I find sad right now, is that I'm living in a brownish area, which has a significant Sikh population and there is no Gurdwara in walking distance, although I noticed a new maseet is being built as I write this. Also Gurdwaray should be built in areas where there is enough sangat to protect them too. We should avoid building them in places where they can be targeted and the population isn't strong enough to look after them.

  20. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58814061 Mesut Ozil launches development centre for South Asians Last updated on6 October 20216 October 2021.From the sectionFootball Ozil helped Germany win the 2014 World Cup Mesut Ozil has joined forces with the Football Association and Football for Peace to launch a development centre for South Asians in England. The University of Bradford will host the centre, which will "run football and life skill sessions" at League Two side Bradford's training ground. "I want to promote them, give them an opportunity to be successful both on and off the pitch," said Ozil. "I am from an ethnic diverse background and understand the challenges." Former Real Madrid and Arsenal playmaker Ozil, who is of Turkish origin, was born in Gelsenkirchen in Germany. He went on to play 92 times for Germany and helped them win the 2014 World Cup. Ozil is currently at Turkish side Fenerbahce after leaving Arsenal on a free transfer in January. "I have always been surprised why the South Asian community are only allowed to be fans of the game," he said. "Why are we not seeing more players or managers breaking into professional football? "I hope the Football for Peace Mesut Ozil Centre will become the platform they need." Figures last year showed British Asians make up about 7% of the UK population but only 0.25% of professional footballers. Former British South Asian player Kashif Siddiqi is the co-founder of Football for Peace and the centre in Bradford is to be the "first as part of a nationwide initiative". The aim is to promote "opportunities for members of ethnically diverse communities to be able to fulfil their aspirations by providing pathways into elite football and education", with a number of Premier League and English Football League clubs having signed up to the initiative.

  21. I tell you what. I think it is sometimes easier for an older bloke to get a broad than a younger one. Providing he hasn't slobbed out. By that time, the older birds have had some self-conceit knocked out of them, and get desperate. Also, the girls family usually suddenly do a volte face too, and all their fussiness disappears when they face the stark reality of their princess (who is now getting on) not finding a geezer. Then some start opening up a bit, not being so rigid on caste or race even. Allowing criminal records and that. It's hilarious when you think about it! lol Waheguru's creation makes me laugh sometimes. lol

  23. I'm not sure more are needed really. I don't know many which are 'busy'; many are not filled well most of the time. Being cynical/sceptical other than being able to run Gurdwaras to break even, I wouldn't be surprised that the motivation to build new Gurdwaras are sometimes to do with individuals wanting to have power or profit. And I agree that if the Gurdware are not 'busy' they can be targeted easily. Any Sikhs who are into 'training' and/or have a good physical presence could be hired as security guards - I'm sure plenty could be doing this as 'moonlighting' if not full time. I think also that an intercom system should be more commonly used to restrict entrance and screen the sangat. So many times I have seen in Gurdwaras in E London/SE London/Kent a 'who is this /wanted' poster with some troublemaker who has been nicking shoes or causing other trouble .

  24. I'm in great shape by the way. No sign of any pot belly. Training consistently, and not being physically lazy will do that to you. You should try it - instead of spending all that time looking at other people's wives......
