  2. In the past, when someone had to go for Tankhya for non-Bhujer Kurehits, they wouldn't have went specifically at Amrit Sanchars to get punishments and would get punishments from Sangat, (of which Punj Pyare would be selected). Non-Amritdharis still have never been giving punishments for Tankhya to Amritdharis, (which accounts for 80-90% of the sangat).

  3. True. But, someone who is in the above categories will not volunteer to be a member of the Panj Piyare. Generally, non-practicing Sikhs know they're doing wrong and do not generally object to those who are living in the Rehit. Also, generally, Rehitvan Sikhs don't care that non-practicing Sikhs drink alcohol, cut their hair or whatever. It's just that they would object if someone tried to change the fundamentals of Sikhism.

  4. When Muslims get educated they still pump out a minimum of 3 children per woman, I've seen this at work, the only exceptions seem to be Turks and Iranians. Look at the birth rates of Muslims in Kerela the state with the highest literacy rates. They will out breed the Hindus soon and become the majority.

  5. Tfr (Total Fertility Rate ) has to be above 2.1 which is the replacement rate. The Sikh population tfr in Indis if I am correct is about 1.6 I suspect it has partly to do with the education of Sikh women. Educated women marry later and have less children. Also I suspect family planning is probably playing a part as well with knowledge of contraception. Having less children Is seen as being modern and advanced (progressive ) I suspect also with scans to tell the sex of children, if there is a boy born, a couple will stop having any more children saying that their family is complete. That phrase is used quite a lot "family complete". But is a worldwide trend.

  6. Indeed. The next hub of massive population growth will be Africa and we will see insane emigration from Africa as well. There will be many Africans in European/American lands in the coming decades. As long as India will be a developing country, it will still have a growing population as the birth rate isn’t as dire as European countries. European countries are doomed. Does anyone have any idea as to why Sikhs have the lowest birth rate in India? Isn’t one of our main teachings to create a family? Just a couple decades ago, our grandparents were having 8+ children, smh. Sometimes I think modernisation is a big mistake.

  7. You could look up on Youtube how to make food. Or better, get Veg cookbook showing how to make what. Last year I moved out parents' house and started to make degh the Taksali Maryaad way. First time it was kacha (undercooked). Second time it had burning taste. Third time too much paani... took me weeks before getting it right but the key is, one recipe keep practicing it.

  8. The main thing is, the sangat there was expecting someone to step-up as they still shouted meaningless Jakare at the end. Which is an issue in of itself that people aren't willing to stand-up especially in Urban areas.

  12. I was reading the books by Raghbir Singh Bir. According to their views, we see and experience the world according to our five senses. If we had more senses, the world would appear differently. Some people claim that the world, as we see it, ceases to exist, if one focuses on the Sat Chitt Anand Ishwar Jyot inside us…

  13. SGGS teaches us the difference between right and wrong… SGGS also teaches us that we are Jyot Saroop and not physical body…. Without Gurbani, we go around in never ending circles of unhappiness… Waheguru…

  15. The sangat has to be worthy of the title, in my opinion. Having a gaggle of - hitherto undiscovered - adulterers, fraudsters, and practitioners of the dark arts (?) sitting in judgement of someone who's a comparative angel compared to the types of individuals I've mentioned, is laughably poor form. Nobody's going to voluntarily raise their hand and come clean about their own transgressions, but you better believe there's going to be some holier-than-thou finger wagging occurring when the chappal is on the other foot. In theory it's undoubtedly a fine practice, but knowing all we do about our people and human behaviour in general, how is it enforceable in a way that does justice to the obviously good and honourable religious precedent established by our spiritual and religious guides?

  17. Responsibility before the Sangat in the Sikh Rehit Maryada The Sikh Rehit Maryada available here outlines how Sikhs are responsible before the Sangat: If you're one of those who hates the SGPC, the same basic thing exists in Taksali or Nihang rehit. If you don't accept any of those, you're neither in the mainstream nor the alternative stream of Sikhism. You're just on your own little island doing whatever comes to mind. Which you can do. You can do whatever you want, but where do you get off pompously asking me where I got the idea that Sikhs are responsible to the Sangat?

  18. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Veerjeo, To do Sava Lakh chalisa, one needs to have about 8 hours a day fixed for jaaps if we want to do them with prem and bhagti bhavna. A total of 3125 Mool Mantar Sahib Jaaps a day which is 29 maalas (108 beads) a day. Please do ardas in the lotus feet of Maharaj before you start and full body+kes ishnaan before starting, have a clean white cloth underneath, sit at a fixed place everyday, purify the air by having nice dhoof etc., try to be in Lotus or Half Lotus position as much as you can so that birti can be maintained Try to focus on the third eye while doing jaaps if you are doing Jaaps for spiritual benefits. Practice Brahmcharaj when doing Chalisa. Mahapurashs also say that one should have water nearby too, for water absorbs all the good vibrations and becomes amrit after you are done for the day. This sewa is normally given by Mahapurashs, of course we can do it ourselves with bhagti bhavna too It is a very big task so keep praying for more surti and kirpa on physical body because mann will start playing tricks on you after a week or so ('headaches', 'body aches', etc). These are just mind's tricks to lure back into the world of maya, so ardas is most important May Waheguru Ji keep holding you hand in this task! Gurfateh jeo
