  1. Thanks Ji, Been literally 5 years since I last gambled. I then wrote the above two months later. I was single, still with parents but that's changed. Can't afford to gamble and hope never to go back. TBH I stopped worrying about "What will happen when I die? How will the winnings affect me this / that life? For gambling?" I committed to it now going with the flow.
  2. Erm... Neither positive nor negative??? The results show yellow bar more than red so this result means nothing to me. If red was high yeah.
  3. Did Zeus exist? Was there really a City called Atlantis? If yes then did the events of these Gods and Titans take place same time during the rule of 33 crore Devi/ Devte? And Ramayan? SGGS mentions about the Devi / Devte so we know for a fact they exist. Dassam Granth touches on Historical wars and the Mahabharat era etc. But Greek Gods?
  4. Bhangra is the biggest part of Panjabi culture. I believe part of the connection MUST be to do with all Panjabi singers' video shoots, they are directed in Western Countries (well, mainly Canada). It's the exposure of media yet again. Watch ANY music video you will see Canada or sum other Western Country. The days of shooting in Panjab for video shoot are LONG gone. Parents will encourage their kids so they can be seen on TV/ become famous - all that psychological factor kicks in.
  5. Although pics can be thrown away normal any shabds must be burnt. This is a respectful way. However, do not go against your Sass neither! It won't be right. And explaining to elders can be difficult... I remember at my old job at a Desi factory. Old pic of Gurus fell on the floor once. An Aunty looked gloomy and told me t pick it up and put it back on the "shelf." She was in pain a Baba Ji's pic fell... Few weeks later... Pic fell on the floor again amidst the mess, I picked it up... Looked sneakily over my shoulder... Coast is clear. Looked over me right shoulder... No Bibia in sight! It was a paper cut out of Maharaj. I took the pic and, as ye old coast is clear, picked up the old dusty calendars from beneath the table and chucked it all in the bin. Now, let's look at the reason for throw aways... For quite some time an old Bibi was against throwing them in the bin. The "Boss" would suggest it but no! "Ehna d satkar kro pr sitio naa." I was fed up with this, aren't we here to work!? And this SAME Bibi is against matha teaking of pictures of Gurus! (HEY thas everyone's each n own sharda). I knew where my beliefs stood. Months later... "Hey! Where them pics go? Singh Ji, has it fallen on the floor again?" Fully knowing the pic is probably stuck at the bottom of something untoward, I looked at the bottom of table n said ", It's not here now." Nobody questioned the disappearance of the san 47 (year 1947's) calendars. I could finally breath again... And all the men too I bet.
  6. Am afraid it's not really straight forward. How many times we see others drink alcohol n we think "Am not like that." Or we see mona "I have uncut hair!" As for CV... You could write take pride in work but give examples! Have you done overtime? Do u quality check your own work, b4 forwarding it? Wha makes u think you have pride in yer work? And in Sikhi, it's also against to lie! Don't forget that. Also be sure you get a friend or family member to go through your CV! No matter how much u think u know/ doing well have A star grade in A level. Fresh pair of eyes always see's better.
  7. Wow! The end part made me go happy to sad "Until one day he decided to cut his beard." I thought, by pics, it must've been tied up.
  8. It is Vaheguru. Although SGGS mentions it like Vaheguru, Vaheguru, Vahguru jio HOWEVER! It is Va-he-gu-ru when meditating. Oh Guru, get me out of this darkness and into the light.
  9. Just a normal post... Am sure u can guess by title where it's heading! A BrahmGiani see's the future where he (or she) changes Akaal Purakh's hukam! (Oh no, the calamity). Now, if they go ahead with it and by all means they should they will fulfill the hukam where the hukam has been interfered with and changed... But thas the problem! Hukam has been interfered with and changed but as it was seen, it was done which is FOR the hukam. Now, if this BrahmGiani went ahead and changes the future as it should have been where Hukam is NOT changed then thas another problem! But hukam has not been changed was also not part of the deal so changing the hukam where Akaal Purakh's honour is preserved IS in actual fact, not preserving his hukam at all as, by all means, go ahead and do not change the hukam to keep the hukam... SIGH am tired. You guys can go ahead and finish off this post!
  10. No, you have confused Sant Takhur Singh with someone else completely.
  11. Good question. Now that we're talking about measurements, doing certain amount of Gurbani daily can bring merits. Infact we can be reunited with Akaal Purakh in a blink of an eye! But, it is PROVEN we can be enlightened in only 40 days. It requires certain amount of Baani to do in 40 days. Doing a certain Dassam Granth Baani daily, you can have all the forces on this planet stand for you in protection and honour in about 12 months. This is measurements of doing baania. I understand OP mentioned measuring SOMEONE rather than Baania itself but this is the power of quantity. You want it, you gotta do it FIRST and see for yourself. Of course, everything else depends on our kimtu prantu.
  12. Gurbani and learning Shastar Vidya is key. Learning about many weapons, correct way to use is also important. Tyaar bur tyaar.
  13. I do not celebrate new year on 1st Jan... I celebrate the one year gone up.
  14. I believe hours of Amritvela should overweigh his attachment to money "sin"? Am definitely not saying keeping doing sins then do hours of Paat / seva t be forgiven. Nothing wrong with advancing in achievements or wanting more. But yeah we should keep our actions in check when we don't get that more / unable to advance. The question is, what was on his mind whilst advancing? Was it greed? Was it just enjoyment? Was it cost of living STILL outweighed income???
  15. Could be exposure of media. Or even advance knitting machines thas able to produce tight clothing, only faster than before. This is main reason why Guru Amar Dass Ji said men should control their eyes... Even if it's right in front of us at work, walking the streets.
  16. Well, there you go then! He was high in Sikhi Jeevan hence he got kicked out.
  17. Nothing wrong there at all. We need hobbies. Just do not let it overtake your life. Too much of anything is bad for the health.
  18. If we look at Sikh Rehat 2 things should be noted. First, no alcohol allowed. Second, 4 kakkar are not allowed to leave the body, even for a second! Let's just say the Gurus decided and gave a figure. We're allowed to consume half a glass (e.g. 250ml) of beer once a week, containing no more than 5% in alc volume. And four kakkars, let's assume Dasah Patsha stated "Four can be parted from you at a distance of 1.5 meters." Now today, we can guess why the measurement are absolute zero. The rehat states ZERO TOLERANCE! The alcohol consumption would have been edited to "5 glass per seven days it's ok to get tipsy, Thas what Maharaj is saying" and departure from kakkar would have been "150 yards..." We Sikhs EASILY would have fooled and edited measurements!!! The Gurus knew this. Today our actions are evidence to my opinion. So the Guru has certainly not given us any unit of measurement as we're unworthy of it.
  19. I understand your concern, kada being displayed. Kada should have not been displayed at all. As for the music, a UK muslim bringing back traditional style instruments in punjabi music? Now thas a big wow! (Ok, maybe not lyrics but all lyrics do head towards lusting anyways) so I stopped listening to all songs long ago.
  20. I suppose you could download it for offline? YouTube MP3 converter, now thas what I use.
  21. Thank you for coming back! It's been a few months it's going extraordinarily well. So much kirpa happened lately. Waking up Amritvela with ease to do naam jap (with concentration of course), amazing raas, mind and body is in a relax state not a tensed state. Calm, cool and collected just the way the mind should be.
