Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

What can we learn from the Pope's life? These are simple quotes he used to say, which are very much in line with Gurmat:

God loves you all

"Value the aged, respect the sick and love the poor."

Also, the way he was Japping Naam and praying to the end is amazing:

As the end approached, history's best travelled and third longest serving pontiff had urged his followers not to cry for him by dictating a message to his secretary.

"I am happy and you should be happy too," he said. "Do not weep. Let us pray together with joy."

His last moments were described early today by Father Jarek Cielecki, director of Vatican Service News, a Catholic TV channel. "The Holy Father died looking towards the window as he prayed, and that shows that in some way he was conscious," Cielecki said.

"A short while before dying, the Pope raised his right hand in a clear, although simply hinted at, gesture of blessing, as if he became aware of the crowd of faithful present in St Peter's Square, who in those moments were following the reciting of the Rosary," he added.

"Just after the prayer ended, the Pope made a huge effort and pronounced the word 'Amen'. A moment later, he died."

Gurbani says:

a(n)th kaal naaraaein simarai aisee chi(n)thaa mehi jae marai ||

At the very last moment, one who thinks of the Lord, and dies in such thoughts,

badhath thilochan thae nar mukathaa peetha(n)bar vaa kae ridhai basai ||5||2||

says Trilochan, that man shall be liberated; the Lord shall abide in his heart. ||5||2||

It is a sad day for the world, but A happy day for the Pope

He left us, but will be going to the creator of us.

Like many he was a chosen one

to spread the word of Waheguru Ji

and he succeeded with many.

God rest his soul

If I told you all that your Guruji’s were leading you to hell would you respect me as a person of waheguru? Read my post above, despite the candy coated P.R., the message is crystal clear. Please provide me with some insight if you have it.

This perhaps nice old man by the name of Karol Wojtyla may very well have done some nice things. But his main aim and message was to enlighten you that by following the message of your gurus you would end up in hell! And you salute him?

Numbers of followers or media frenzy does not justify a message or person. That was the problem with a country that supported Hitler, a country that implicitly supported the massacre of Sikhs, and a country that supports Bush.

Karol Wojtyla played a very influential international role. He is not “Pope” to you. He was not a rock star product. He was not Prince or Madonna. To you he is a person by the name of Karol Wojtyla who had a hate for your Guru’s which he expressed through the veil of love for you! Wake Up!! If a thousand people around you say that the thread is sacred, you are the one who needs to have the calm courage to refuse to accept it.

"Let mercy be the cotton, contentment the thread, Continence the knot and truth the twist. O priest! If you have such a thread, Do give it to me. It'll not wear out, nor get soiled, nor burnt, nor lost. Says Nanak, blessed are those who go about wearing such a thread" (Rag Asa)

now wait just a second there budda singh. We aren't worshipping him as if he was our own guru. He was clearly a good man with a love of god. He was following his religion. like 99% of all religions say that every other one is wrong, except ours. In sikhi it says that you should follow your religion to the best of your ability, so he was doing just that. Are you going to site here and chastize a man that's done a hell of alot more for humanity as a whole than you have?

25 MILLION SIKHS CELEBRATE THE MEMORY OF THE POPE WHO RALLIED TO THEIR SUPPORT AS A CHAMPION OF INTERFAITH AND HUMAN RIGHTS

2nd April 2005,London : 25 million Sikhs around the world remember the intrepid Pope John Paul II for his support for human rights when their religious freedom was attacked last year and twenty years earlier.

‘Last year Pope John Paul II threw his weight behind Sikhs to oppose the French government’s ban on religious signs, including the Sikh Turban, at schools, saying ''the government cannot be an arbiter in any religious matter.'', said Sameep Singh, inter-faith Director of UNITED SIKHS, a global human development organisation that works for the betterment of Sikhs globally.

''In other words, Governments should respect dignity of the human person and of his inalienable rights among which his right to adhere, practice and propagate his religion is fundamental. No Government should interfere with the inner core of any religion,'' the Pope had said in a message.

The Pope’s message came after the Sikh community sought his intervention to oppose the French ban on the Sikh turban, an expression of the Sikh identity and faith. UNITED SIKHS led a petition campaign seeking the intervention of world leaders to persuade the French government to abandon its plan to pass the ban-law.

Pope John Paul II said in a message, ''In recent times, we have witnessed in some European countries an attitude that could endanger the effective respect for religious freedom. Everyone may agree to respect the religious sentiment of individuals but the same can not be said of the religious factor, that is the social dimension of religions. It is nothing other than respect for all beliefs on the part of the State that assures the free exercise of ritual, spiritual and cultural and charitable activities by communities of believers.''

The Pope said a healthy dialogue between the Church and the State would encourage harmony in society.

“The Pope’s contribution to interfaith dialogue made him a veritable saint-soldier whose influence on spiritual and temporal matters was phenomenal,” said Sameep Singh.

Twenty years earlier, when the Sikhs’ holiest shrine in Amritsar, popularly known as the Golden Temple, was attacked by the Indian armed forces, the Pope did not mince his words in support for the human rights of thousands of innocent worshippers who had been killed during the attack.

“In these days, the news has followed the ever more serious events in the state of Punjab. I do not want to go into the delicate and complex motives behind these disturbances in a great nation. But the sad fact is that the place where so many people met a tragic death is a temple where men gather in prayer.

”I address an immediate sentiment of human pity for all the victims with a call that a way to resolve the current strife can be found in a mutual understanding..." Pope John Paul II said.

buddah singh,

b4 catholics believed that only chritianity could lead a soul to salvation...

but in tha 60's it was the pope who called on the Vatican II council and sent a "hukamnama" that alll religions are of God, and all are to be respected

the catholic church is famous for this...sooo id find out more about ur sources b4 i dare say u do nindya of a saint like man.....

maybe im pushing it...

but in sukhmani sahib we read all this stuff bout the nindya of sants? soo that includes bhagats like kabir ji, and hindus like ravi das ji......soo why not a pope who never tried to convert ppl of other religions and supported other faiths

and politcally helped them tooo??? and man who lived in celebicy (not easy thing to do) you can say he must have had control over his Kaam and prolly the other illnesses of the mind as well, soo who knows he might have just been a saint and in that case id watch wat i say about him....
