Recommended Posts

this is a comunual riot.

1 thing we learned from delhi riots was not only to wear 5ks, but to know sikhi within, as all who did, didnt run and cut their hair, rather they stood fast and took on the Goverment organised rioters. many civies and media persons bare witness to such bravery.

but apart from dat i agree with above. :TH:

Man,18, shot dead near riot scene

An 18-year-old man has died in hospital after he was shot close to the scene of weekend rioting in Birmingham.

Two men have been arrested over the incident on Sunday in the Newtown area but police do not yet know if it is linked to the weekend violence.

Saturday's rioting involved youths from the black and Asian communities and was said to have been sparked by a claim that a girl of 14 had been raped.

Police say "rumour, myth and speculation" had fuelled the violence.

Mosque 'attacked'

Detectives stressed that forensic experts had been to the location of the alleged attack on the girl in the Lozells area but no formal complaint had been received.

On Sunday night further disturbances took place in the Lozells area, where a heavy police presence was in place.

Gangs of youths had gathered in response to an alleged attack on a nearby mosque.

Police said they were dispersed by a series of operations between 2200 and 0100 BST and the heavy rain across the West Midlands also helped to break up the crowds of youths.

On Sunday night police were called to Melbourne Avenue, about a mile from Lozells, several hours after the latest disturbances, in response to reports that a man had been seen with a firearm in the area.

City with history of tension

The force said the Independent Police Complaints Commission had been informed purely because armed officers were in the area at the time.

The operation came several hours after several hundred youths were said to have marched "aggressively" down Lozells Road.

The violence on Saturday night culminated in the stabbing to death of a 23-year-old man.

A total of 35 people were taken to hospital with police reporting up to 80 separate criminal incidents. Five people were arrested.

Of those injured, nine remain in hospital, one with a fractured skull.

A number of petrol bombs were also thrown and at least 12 gunshots were reported.

Following yesterdays meeting at Gurudwara Yaad Baba Deep Singh Shaheed, with representatives of Wst Midlands Police, they stated that they we unable to guarantee any protection to Gurudwaras in the area.

They can investigate an alleged crime where the victim has yet to come forward but cannot provide additional patrols around Gurudwara.

It seems the racist west midlands police will only have themselves to blame if Sikhs take matters into their own hands defending the community.

Has anyone got hard evidence of the police not willing to protect the gurdwaras? On tape or press release or something?

Because that is shocking... how at this tension time they are unable to provide protection to places of worship.

We need modern shasters no doubt. I'm talking about guns because many of you might have seen black youths in gangs running around carrying guns we need to be prepared to protect the community with any force and means nesseracy.

Law and Order in UK is so pathetic. Don't they have S.W.A.T teams? Or Riot Police?

Main thing is that no innocents should be harmed, whether they be Hindu, Sikh, or Christian.

i totally agree. Thats why, controversial to some it may be, i admire the American policing system.

Ppl espicially of the UK please lets learn lessons and not forget. That the law of any country wat so eva will neva do thier 110% upmost to protect the Sikh community why did Guru ji give us shastar, and the vidiya to go with it. Wake up, no good having weapons unless u dont know how to use them aswell. I also to a benti to all bros in birmingham if u think that a gurudwara has a chance of being attacked please all hook up and make a plan, you need to very well organised and make sure the bros u got can handle themselves and others, use gyan karak (common sense along with tactics) cos with situation likes this u will be heavily out numbered. And dont make me laugh, the police will just say things like " we will to our upmost to protect Sikh Gurudwaras" Dont be fooled they never have and never will, so its down to us. And do u ever realise how in the media when they the trouble involves muslims and other ppl they always say "ASIANS" when muslims to one thing good its on the media 24/7 like after london bombings after the whole thing Sikhs only got like 2% of media coverage even though it affected us the most after the ppl who died. So to ur average person at home GUESS, what they going to link this with Sikhs i guarantee it. So ppl please stay alert.

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
