i dont know where you live but here in cold England we just got a new 50" Sony KDFE50A12TNS

The picture quality is simply AMAZING and its HD ready!

Its well worth how much it costs even though its much cheaper then similarly specced rivals

When you're going for a TV that big, go for a DLP. They cost more, but the technology is much better than LCD when you're dealing with that size.

We have a Sony DLP. Its pretty nice. Pricegrabber.com is the site I used to look at LCDs when I got an LCD for my room. They compare all the electronics. Check it out.

if u have the space, dont buy plasmas, buy a top range normal tube tv!

if u have to buy a thin one, go for lcd then. make sure ure tv is HiDefinition compatible too

If you are in the UK, buy it from John Lewis as you get a 5 year warranty as standard (free of charge) plus they price match other shops. They do not price match internet stores but there are a few internet stores with proper stores with the same prices as they have online. You could save a bit of money and get a 5 year warranty.

go to sony centre they WILL match prices as they are desperate to sell stuff and they deliver and set everything up in ur own home

yeah, I believe you have to get it "refilled" with gas eveery 5 years or something..and thats costs big bucks
