Khushwant Singh wrote that Sikhs could've made Indra appologize, step down from PM position and a lot others but killing her, WAS NO BRAVERY. She was shot, an alone women was shot. If she decieved us then didn't we decive her also...

Did u see Sikhs asking waiting for Wazir Khan to step down from his position? Did u see Sikhs asking Massa Ranghar to apologize? These tyrants and all tyrants hell bent on destroying the Sikh panth were drunk with their power and were never going to sober up.

She was a woman? Yea so where are mothers, sisters and daughters who were raped inside Darbar Sahib during Blue Star, the Delhi pogroms, and the jails of Punjab, how come this Kushwant never speaks about those women who suffered in the thousands? Yet he speaks of one dirty old witch who signed her own death warrant when she messed with the Sikhs. She was made out to be a hero through out India after Blue Star, nothing was going to happen to her, the only choice Sikhs had was to kill her themselves.

We decieved her? What did we have to prove to her? It was India who made all those promises to the Sikhs, it was M. Gandhi who said the Sikhs should raise their swords if opressed. She decieved us as well as all of India by supporting and carrying out the attack on my home Sri Darbar Sahib, the Sikhs just rightfully responded as anyone else would

But he still writes truth, remember, i believe that sikhs live in past and they do. The times for when a head was was given for head, the time changed its not the head for head time. Its time to do things "humanly" as we're supposed to in this times. And kiling people, head for head is called GUNDAGARDI in these times. Its not that i'm saying sant ji were gunde, i'm saying what sikhs did after sant ji went to sach khand was wrong.. and i call that was gundagardi..

Indra appologize ??? Singh are you on something ? We are talking about the Prime Minister of that time who had the guts to not only attack sri harmandar saahib amritsar, but continuously other gurdwarai at the same time.. who knows what ELSE she had planned for after. Dont you think something was done from APRIL to OCTOBER ????? There was no appology, there was no regret, she just used the excuse to get to sant ji to attack our sikhi!!!!

I personally think that what she got, had it coming, what happened after was no insaaf either, but i totally believe that no person would get away wit killing soo many innocents during april 1984.

vaaheguroooo ..

BUT .. at the same time .. i agree somewhat what your saying .. not ALL .. and i repeat ALLL of sant jis followers were 'pure' and did the right thing! I have proof from my own family where my dads best friend would tell us stories of how he use to supply 'barood', or explosives or something to them, and he would tell us that some would do things for their own pleasure, things that are too disgusting to even list here, so i agree there, and please dont state they were RSS agents in disguise as sikhs cuz they werent!

vaaaheguroooo .. may all the shaheeds/innocents of 1984 rest in peace... pray.gif

I wasn't gonna post on this but this (your) comment really <Edited> me off!

Kushwant Singh is pro congress and by no means an authority on Sikhi.

From what I know of him, he has never had a solid stance, in fact he sways more than someone high on crack trying to find their way home (crap example i know :D ).

He is an antagonist who has no faith in the Guru, but thinks that his thwarted opinion is somehow correct.

Kushwant says alot of things, you really think Indira, someone who introduced emergency laws, had her friends hijack a plane, re-wrote the constitution-all just to stay in power would have stepped down if Sikhs politely asked her to. I don't think so.

Kushwant had no right to insult Sant Ji, while he was busy writing away whilst Sikhs were being discriminated against and attacked it was Sant Jarnail Singh who was fighting for the rights of Sikhs.

Kushwant returning his medal in 1984 following the attacks seems more like showmanship rather than anything else.

He is just another scholar wrapped up in hankar, only specialising in wordly knowledge.

Anyways, what you mean by 'these times.' Maybe if you step out of your glasshouse then you would realise that there are wars being fought throughout the world and Sikhs were subject to a genocide and ethnic cleansing in India. In 'these times' standing and speaking for truth (in reference to Sikhs in India) one risks being called anything from an extremist, fundamentalist, communalist to a terrorist.

Being a corrupt, lying, raping, thieving, murdering police official or politician is considered as 'normal' there.

As for the gundagardi, leave that to the criminals and gov,t agents in punjab.

Sikhi isn't outdated, Guru Gobind Singhs hukam of 'raising a sword as a last resort' stands the same today as it did 302 years ago. Its people like Kushwant Singh and those who support him who need to catch up with the times.

hey, look , sikhs r respectable people, sikhs r confectionae people, sikhs r forgiving people but indira gandhi has done such an act that sikhs cannot behave peacefully with her. i think he got exactly what he deserves. if u think sikhs r gundas, then what will u say to those hindus who killed thousands of sikhs and that police force that allowed hindus to do so. so, they r even more than gundaas. why don't this bloody fool "KHUSHWANT SINGH" writes about them then. :T: :e:

He did wrote about them, read his novels..

Kushwant Singh said somewhere in the 70s that Sikhi would be dead round this time. What kind of Sikh are you then if you dont have fate in Akaal Purkh?

Fate or Faith?

------------------------------------------------------

All i want to let you know is:-

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

and rest my signature quote somewhat is related also.. what a coincidence...

singh soorma give me your address so I can come to your house, blow it up, if anyone survives, tie them up and shoot them point blank in the head.

and afterwards, I'll just apologize to your surviving relatives.

deal?

use your brain man. a person can apologize for lying, for stealing a car, but can someone apologize for attacking 48 gurdwaras, killinf tens of thousands of sangat?

please go to Iraq and ask Saddam to apologize to the Kurds.

Seriously, I don't know how old you are, but if your younger than 16 then there is no point in arguing with you, but if your older, pick up a book, read the events of that time and then post. Don't waste people's time being a mouthpeice of India or the typical self-hating Inidan sikh house negro.

BTW: I believe in forgiveness. Indira was killed 4.5 months after bluestar. So your Indira had enough time to apologize.

peace.

    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
    • All of these are suppositions, bro. Linguists know that, generally, all the social classes of a physical area speak the same language, though some classes may use more advanced vocabulary. I'm talking about the syntax. That is, unless the King is an invader, which Porus was not. When you say Punjabi wasn't very evolved, what do you mean? The syntax must have been roughly the same. As for vocabulary, do you really think Punjabis at the time did nothing more than grunt to express their thoughts? That they had no shades of meaning? Such as hot/cold, red/yellow/blue, angry/sweet/loving/sad, etc? Why must we always have an inferiority complex?
    • I still think about that incident now and then, just haven't heard any developments regarding what happened, just like so many other things that have happened in Panjab!
    • There was a young Singh from abroad who went to Anandpur Sahib Hola and got into a fight with some Punjabis who were playing loud non-religious music. He had bana and a weapon or two. There were more of them than him.  He ended up losing his life. Don't be like that. Not worth it to fight manmukhs. @californiasardar1 ਮੂਰਖੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਲੁਝੀਐ ॥੧੯॥ Argue not with a fool. p473
