They were often stuck between two evils the Police and the Militants and often harassed and victimised by both sides the corrupt officials and fanatic militants. The whole of that area of Hoshiarpur is soaked in centuries of cultural mix, of faith, religion and are a very tolerant and peaceful people.

i thought santa singh (budha dal) used the goverments corrupt maya to rebulid akal takht sahib and then the panth took it down and rebuilt with the maya from the khalsa panth. If santa singh is so great y did he get kicked out the panth 4???, the jathedar has still not resolved issues within the nihang dal, (do not want to go into certain issues we wud be here for years talking about it)

Ajit Phoola has not been addressed for actions by santa singh and the nihangs

neither has so called nihangs who commit crimes of sorts.
