dancing? har krishna singing? nah man this is not right, we need to go to next years one and stop the beadbi

What one must realise is that the local media article describes the nagar kirtan in a positive multi cultural manner, this is where Sikhs need to be clever when tackling the situation. The majority of the Coventry sangat do not see the dancing as a big issue or Harneck as a big threat. The ones that object to all of this are seen as the fanatical minority. So rather than thinking of a solution which will further enhance the fanatical troublemaking young khalistani stereotype, think about cleverer ways of eradicating the dancing and stopping Harneck and his followers from having any prominence in this nagar kirtan!!

from Sikhnet.com discussion forum:

I've been attending Nanaksar Gurudwara in UK for over 20 years.

One needed only to have seen the gathering at the "antiham sanskar" of Saint Baba Mihan Singh Ji to realise that he was someone truly special.

I would even go further to suggest that he was the last in the line

From which he descended. After his departure, simply a leader to keep the sangat together and to manage the international temples was required and this responsibility, saint Ji gave to Harnek Singh.

After his departure, I haven't really experienced the joys one would experience when in the presence of Baba Mihan Singh ji. The atmosphere in the Gurudwara has changed. Only tales of Baba Ji remain, of the times when he travelled in vehicles in UK and Canada which had no fuel, to the times he had relieved sangat from suffering. The time when Baba ji was getting ready to depart from this world but the sangat began path round the clock for him to stay. Baba ji returned after having been pronounced as deceased, saying that although the time had come, the sangat did not let him leave. Then after a very short period of time.... Some number of day's, I think, Baba ji departed requesting the sangat not to pray for his return.

Baba Harnek Singh was first seen in Ludhiana where many years ago

Baba Mihan Singh and sewadar were travelling through. He was tied to a cycle and was said to be mentally disturbed. He was taken to see Baba ji for darshan and when he saw Baba ji he immediately grabbed his feet. As the sewadar tried to remove his hold by pulling him away, they managed to pull Baba ji with him too such was his grip. The sewadar explained to Baba ji that this man was not all there, but Baba ji said that they would keep him in the Gurudwara and sort him out. This they managed to do and he became close to Baba ji and accompanied him all over the world as a sewak over the years gaining respect as a dedicated sewadar.

I cannot understand what has happened. I find it hard to comprehend

that the Gurudwara fund is near to 20 million dollars. I am shocked that a Gurudwara would allow such amounts of wealth to accumulate when there are endless areas of need that it could be spent on.

Then we hear about the leaders wasting and misusing this money.

Gambling with it, using it for personal use...............

I feel sorry for these people as god only knows what will come of those eat of the money donated by gursikhs as daan and "daswand". This is a poison that can only be digested by proper investment into needy and deserving causes. Even when in the times Guru Gobind Singh ji, people gave money as we do to the Gurudwara, funds began to accumulate, and Guru Ji threw it all into the Satloj river. When Mata ji asked why he wouldn’t give it to all the poor Sikhs who could really do with it, Guru ji replied that it was a “Zeher” with which he could not poison his Sikhs.

Sangat Ji, benti, please do not respond to the posts by 'memyselfani'. He/she is just looking for a reaction, its probably somebody just looking to stir up trouble and then run to the policew and cry about threats against nanaksar and agaisnt the sangat there etc. so if your going to respond to him, do it calmly.

Dont get trapped by his, 'get through us lot first' its a joke. IF this person really is from nanaksar they should be aware that the gurdwara had riot vans and police cars parked outside it following the nagar kirtan in fear of angry sangat. Scared .. yes they are scared, hence why they call the police. so please dont respond to his challenge, they have already shown how 'macho' they are!

I would even advise admin to just block this guy/girl as they as obviously just trying to get some of the users in trouble and the website into trouble also.

And with the hari krishna guys, lets not bash them too much, end of the day they practicing what they would normally do on most cold wet days! the fault lies with the organisers for getting into this whole mess. Its a shame that the local committee has no response to the dancing, except to say 'koi ni kush ni hunda'.

Canadians bro's, you say no dancing at your nagar kirtans, but these nanaksar guys seem to think they they are free to do what they like there, they seemed to suggest that the UK was backwards in not expressing our 'happiness' by dancing at the nagar kirtans! if fact the singh i spoke to said, that the canandian guy said to him, that unless u dance your not happy, and since you (the singh) doesnt dance he cant be a happy individual!! that happiness is expressed through dancing .... :D

    • the whole 'your husband/wife is chosen for you'/sanjog thing is real, it's just that a lot of people end up marrying the wrong person. they did not end up with the person that was meant for them. my friend, you should marry someone who you feel a connection with and love. there are millions of sikh girls, i'm sure you can find someone who aligns with your sensibilities and who you can truthfully say that you love. sikhi does not say anything against love marriages. you can also be in a loveless arranged marriage which is a safe option b/c both families are more inclined to keep the union intact. i was one of those people who was like meh, i guess i'll just get arranged to some sikh. well i finally started dating for the first time this year and i'm getting married to someone that i love and cannot even imagine leaving. i think it's better to have lost & lost than never loved at all. unfortunately, a lot of people confuse love w/ looks & lust. a lot of men go for the fittest girl they can find and think they won the jackpot or something. in reality, your partner should be like an extremely loved best friend. there's a reason why it's a fact that the most stable and long-lasting relationships started as friendships.  i also think a lot of women are petty and divorce over small reasons, but there's other terrible things like high cheating rates as well. that's why the divorce rate in the west is high. be careful out there.
    • andrew tate praises sikhi too & likes sikhs. his brother also donated to sikh families iirc. they just like any "alpha" religion and tbh islam is the most "alpha" in their eyes. islam is very good at promoting that image. but imo a real alpha man doesn't command respect by beating up his wive(s) or forcing them to wear a burqa. a real man will have his woman listen to him w/o raising a hand or his voice, and command respect by being respectful. he leads by example and integrity. that's true masculinity. you get the idea. + yes, it's definitely true that islam is growing rapidly and making massive inroads. strength in numbers + belief will do that. but rlly it's just because of the birth rate. a lot of them are muslim b/c it's their "identity" just like how a lot of young sikhs will say they're "culturally sikh" or whatever. there just aren't billions of sikhs who lambast their identity everywhere and have strict and linear rules like in islam. besides, the reality is that islam and its followers are some of the most morally bankrupt. you can see all the weird trans rules in iran, bacche baazi in afghanistan, visiting brothels, watching p*rn, p*dophilia what goes on behind the scenes in countries like uae & qatar, etc, and come to your conclusions. you can google all the stats yourself and see which countries do the most of these ^.
    • stop associating with hinduism, that's the absolutely worst thing you can do as a sikh. not sure if you noticed but the entire world looks down upon and spits at india & hindus, literally no one respects them and considers them weak and cowardly. literally 1+ billion of them but not perceived as a strong religion commandeering respect.
    • you wrote a whole lot but told us nothing. what exactly did you do wrong to make you feel this way?
