Muslim Council of Britain calls for evidence of 'forced conversion' allegations

Press Release:

"After persistent reports of forced conversions of British Hindu and Sikh girls to Islam, the Muslim Council of Britain calls upon all concerned to publicise their evidence and hand it to the police authorities immediately."

The Muslim Council of Britain has called for the British Hindu and Sikh councils to substantiate claims of alleged forced conversions of Hindu and Sikh girls to Islam. Executive members of the foremost Muslim organisation in the UK have asked their counterparts in the Hindu and Sikh councils to publicise their findings and immediately hand over all evidence to the police authorities.

'These allegations are not new. What is deeply worrying however is the continuing absence of any actual substantive evidence to corroborate them. We believe it is high time that the plaintiffs supply their evidence to the police and relevant authorities,' said Secretary-General of the MCBDr Muhammad Abdul Bari.

'If these reports prove to be true the MCB would unreservedly condemn the practice of forced conversion as it goes against a fundamental tenet of our religion - there is no compulsion in matters of faith.'

Dr Abdul Bari said, '‘The MCB is fully prepared to co-operate with its Hindu and Sikh counterparts and the police to get to the root of these allegations and to ensure that the religious rights, freedom and dignity of all are respected. In the absence of any hard evidence of forced conversions though, many British Muslims will suspect that this is an underhand attempt to smear them. People from all faiths and none should have the right to convert to other faiths if they so wish.'

A serpent doesn’t leave any footsteps all one knows is that they have been bitten when its too late. Forced conversions is the wrong terminology they are far too smart to do that. Grooming would be a better word as well as blackmailing.

Muslim League Attack on Sikhs and Hindus in the Punjab 1947

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Muslim League Attack on Sikhs and Hindus in the Punjab 1947 is a book by Sikh author Gurbachan Singh Talib. It was first published in 1950 by the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) and has been reprinted several times.

The book consists of harrowing stories of the Partition of India between the new nations of India and Pakistan. The Partition led to one of the greatest population movements in the 20th century, as Muslims in what would become India, and Hindus and Sikhs in what would become Pakistan, fled across the new borders.

This book details the sufferings of the Hindus and Sikhs who fled their homes in the western Punjab, the North-West Frontier Province, Sind and parts of Kashmir. An appendix contains numerous press and eyewitness accounts of atrocities committed against the refugees during the Partition.

The book takes a position against Pakistan and the Muslim League, which it accuses of planning the massacres. The author mentions, and argues against, accusations that Sikhs were conspiring to ethnically cleanse Muslims from Eastern Punjab.

[edit] Critical reception

It has been reprinted several times and cited in various academic compilations of literature concerning the Partition of India.

Ishtiaq Ahmed, of the Department of Political Sciences at Stockholm University, has examined the book and reports that many of the incidents related in the text can be independently verified.

In one such incident, Muslim "goondas" (thugs) in Lahore received packets containing "churis" (bangles) and "mehndi" (henna) from some Muslims of Lahore. Ahmed describes this as a "bizzare antic meant to shame them for their unmanliness and cowardice at not finishing off Hindus and Sikhs", thereby inciting them into violence against Hindus and Sikhs.[1] This incident has been verified by the British political officer at the scene, a Mr. Eustace.

However, Ahmed also writes that the book does not mention the counter-attacks on Muslims by Hindus and Sikhs. He notes that "The Sikh reprisals against Muslims in East Punjab are explained [in the book] merely as a reaction".[1]

they want evidence...LOL what's the population of Pakistan? there's all the evidence they need right there.....tens of millions of forced converts over centuries....
You are right Singh. Just yesterday my Pakistani colleague was telling me how all south Indian Muslims look the same as south Indian Hindus. I said "In the north, we have Hindus who look like Pakistanis!", and went on to say 90 % of Indian Muslims are converts. How? Thats something they know and we know, yet we never mention it, and they never admit it. LOL! What a joke!

I think the Muslim Council of Britain are asking for more specific evidence of "forced conversations" in Britain. If organisations like Sikh Awareness Society or any other Sikh body have the proven case studies and statistic then they really need to release a press statement to that effect and provide the actual information to the Muslim Council. Otherwise the concerned Sikh bodies and Sikhs in general will be accused of creating misinformation and false propaganda.

That statement from the secretary of the mcb seems far too posh, he can hardly put a sentence together in english :)

Think he's living in cuckoo land.

Also the evidence collated has been given to scotland yard, far as i know.

But the full scale is not known because of embarrassment, unwillingness to come forward and there no monitoring by the authorities on the victims persons religion and covert religious agendas by others when these things happen.

But personally thinking, it don't really happen on a huge scale, just some cases here and there.
