personally I don't think there is anything wrong in it. Nowadays it can be difficult for Sikhs to get introduced to other Sikhs with a view to marriage. Many Sikhs live in or work in a career where there is very little opportunity to meet other Sikhs. From what I have heard of previous speed meeting events it's not a dodgy dating service.
