It doesnt have to be a Chaur Sahib - it can be a Pakhi ... thats your sharda and understanding that Guru Ji isnt a book :lol: and now for the Fire Arti thing, im pretty sure holding a plate of fire infront of Guru Ji isnt doing them any seva or anything - unless its meant to be some sort of amusement or somethin apart from that Id state that as a Ritual and it cannot be compared to doing Chaur Sahib.. no offence to no1.

this is just classic, in western gurdwaras there are no flies, and guru ji feeling hot, what is that? is this is not symbolism or ritualism? if you think guru ji feels hot then on the same token one can argue guru ji may feel cold in winter with chaur sahib generating air? guru is shabad , doesnt feel cold or hot, its above from cold or hot. Chaur sahib is symbol which represents treatement to king to kings and so as arti of maharaj. arti is not performed 24/7 but its performed upon parkash and sukhasan.

If you truly beleive you are coming to maharajs darbar and beleive maharaj as king of kings then whats wrong with expressing it out to maharaj in form of arti or chaur sahib? People who calling this idol worship (baut pooja) need to understand maharaj's darbar concept little better. No one is arguing by doing arti you can get vedah mukhti, this hypocrisy used by pandits was off course mentioned in the gurbani and tottaly refuted. However, gurbani never have blame the ritual like chaur sahib or arti-arta for this but blame lack of understanding (agyanta)/mindset of people. Without question naam simran/prema bhagti is highest form of devotion, with that kept in mind you will never idiolize other forms of devotion such as matha taik(dundaat bandhana), chaur sahib, arti-arta. There is not even one single singh in hazoor sahib who idolizes the arti-arta, they do out of respect of maharaj, they are not baut poojak they are nirgun shabad upasak, when you talk to them then you will find out, being tottagyani on the net really doesnt get you anywhere.

Matha taikna(dundaat bandhana), phul varkha, shastar pooja, chaur sahib, arti-arta. These are other forms of devotion one expresses acccording to one sharda only in maharaj's darbar when they do namaskar to maharaj in form of respect, this is not done to get mukhti or get ridhiya sidhiya or just being hindu for fun and all the other ridicolous claims you guys come up with.

Also just an general question, if you guys think arti of guru maharaj is bahamanvaad then what you say to shastar pooja done by nihangs? hehe let me guess- sarbloh vad? surely bahamans doesnt have shastar pooja or do shastar poja- namaskar bhaguti ko..! hehe

If you really wanna keep Aad Guru Granth Sahib away from flies and the bad air, then laminate the angs of Guru Granth Sahib and put it in a air tight box, where the granthi can put his hand into the box with surgical gloves and turn read through like they did in Crystal Maze lol.
