Gurbani On The End Of The World

Recommended Posts

Can someone give some quotations from SGGS regarding the end of the world. Allmost each major religion has given explaination on the end of the world... But what are Guru Ji's/Sufi Saints/Hindu Saints views on this.

Gurbani tells us that nothing is permanent, especially earth, hell, heavens, paradise etc. The permanent realms, not sure about SARAM KHAND, but I know that KARAM KHAND AND SAACHKHAND ARE UNMOVING, FOREVER PERMANENT. God has created and destroyed many other universes, this is just another created one that will also be destroyed by God.

so that means a big tsunami is going to happen (in a couple of tousand years) and everything will be wiped out??

and what are the gurbanis views on the sun?? in some billion years it will become little and little and its fire will dissapear (i can't explain it), as some scientists have "predicted"

According to the Mayan prophecy it is to happen sooner than that and it is to happen with a flood. They say the year 2012, even the bible prophesizes the end of the world via water/flood.

Not sure how true, but we are seeing the effects of global warming, the ice is melting and the water level is rising.

Me and papi were having the same discussion and that tuk came up which mixed things up a bit.

Here's a video about the mayan prophecy (part1):

Why Would Guru Nanak Dev Ji waste his time on useless prophecies like "End of the World" ?

Look at the bigger picture - This Earth is SOO SOO tiny compared to Akaal's Creation..

Guru Nanak talks about thousands of skies and thousands of nether regions - who cares about this 1 insignificant Human-ruled World?

Now.. looking at this shabad:

Firstly, this shabad is actually talking about the state of Cleanliness - not the end of the world.

Secondly, if you care to study the whole Pauri you'll realise that the Pauri after this Salok is the "nichor" (basis) of the shabad - What does the pauri say?

Look at the 7th pauri, beginning halfway down page 1240

http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?Sour...amp;pageno=1240

The message is: Impurity doesnt come from anywhere..only from turning ur face away from Akaal. On the other hand, Purity is not obtained merely by washing with water - it is different for different people.

The main pattern of these pauris suggest a more broader theme to this whole section that by listening to Naam you get all the Bakshish you can possibly have.

:)
