Jagdi Jyot - one light in all the Gurus

One day, after completing his Nitnem, Baba Harnam Singh Ji (Rampur Khera) went to pray and pay his respects to Guru Ji, when a question arose in his mind,

“How is it that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji embodies the spirit of the ten Guru’s?”

With this thought in mind Baba Ji bowed to Guru Ji, paid obeisance, got

up and pronounced Gur-Fateh. As he did so, he looked up to Sri Guru

Granth Sahib Ji and saw the intensely radiant forms of the ten Guru’s

arising out of the palanquin. The room was filled with radiant,

incandescent light. His eyes were finding it difficult to bear the intense

brightness of the light. A few seconds later, the radiant forms of the

Guru’s appeared to transform into one bright, radiant, glowing light and

one by one merged into the body of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Then the

forms of the Guru’s would reappear one by one out of the body of the

true Guru. This transformation of the ten Guru’s from and into the body

of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji happened three times. Now all that Baba Ji

could perceive was this glowing radiant light around Sri Guru Granth

Sahib Ji that was spreading into the rest of the room. Baba Ji thanked

the Almighty and felt that this miracle was performed by God to answer

his question. In Baba Ji’s mind there was deep contentment and faith

that...

God the embodiment of light has caused

Himself to be called Guru Nanak

From him Angad dev became the Guru

Whom he forthwith united with the Lord

Showering his benediction

Angad dev established Amar Das as the true Guru

Amar Dass has blessed Guru Ram Das Ji with the ambrosial

umbrella

Says Mathura, seeing the vision of Guru Ram Das

Nectar sweet became the speech of Arjun Dev

With these eyes, see the embodiment

Of the approved disciple Arjun dev, the fifth Guru.

jot roop har aap guroo naanak kahaa-ya-o.

taa tay angad bha-ya-o tat si-o tat milaa-ya-o.

angad kirpaa Dhaar amar satgur thir kee-a-o.

amardaas amrat chhatar gur raameh dee-a-o.

gur raamdaas darsan paras kahi mathuraa amrit ba-yan.

moorat panch parmaan purakh gur arjun pikhahu na-yan.

(Swaiyas 5th Guru, Ang 1408)

The divine light, which manifested within the body of Guru Nanak

Dev Ji then passed through each of the ten Guru’s. The same divine

light passed into and is now seated in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. It is only

our vision that is distorted and clouded, unable to see this reality. This is

the reason we meditate on naam, so that the grime of sin is washed

from our eyes and the illusion of doubt is banished from within us. May

the Almighty remove this doubt that makes us perceive the Gurus and

Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as separate entities, when, in fact, they are one

and the same divine light. May we too, recognise this divine light as the

living embodiment of the Almighty Lord. May we get guidance from

the living Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The tenth master Guru Gobind

Singh Ji tells us...

All know the Lord in his different forms

The rare one recognizes him as one

The one who knows this is the blessed one.

Bhinn bhinn roop subhhoo kur jaanaa

Eyk roop kinhoo pehchaanaa

(Bachittar Natak 10th Guru Dasam Granth)

Baba Ji spent a considerable time enjoying the divine miracle that

had just occurred. He then read a hukamnama from Sri Guru Granth

Sahib Ji. After bowing and paying his respects to the true Guru, he

returned to his room to immerse himself in meditation of naam,

overflowing with bliss at witnessing the miracle.

Mahapurakh Sant Baba Harnam Singh Ji Khalsa Rampur Khera Sahib Wale - The Legacy which started 110 years ago

SBHS_Ji-149x250.jpg

Sant Baba Harnam Singh Ji was born in the village Dhugga Kalan, Tehsil Dasuya, District Hoshiarpur in July 1897. Their father was S. Achhar Singh Ji and their mother was Bibi Narain Kaur Ji. Baba Ji had four brothers and two sisters. Baba Ji learned Gurmukhi from their village Granthi. They were only teenager when they lost both parents. They began to help their brothers in the field of cultivation but internally he remained deeply spiritual as they knew that the real goal of human life was to unite with the Almighty.

Baba Ji’s met with an Udasi Sadhu by the name of Santokh Das (whom they served for 11 years). Meeting with Sikh Saints proved fruitless as everyone they met merely wanted to recruit them as their chela. Baba Ji then went into a state of Bairaag and after three days, did ardas and heard a message asking them to take Amrit. Baba Ji did this when they were 21.

In 1947 after the partition, Baba Ji’s family shifted from Sargodha to Dhoul Pur (Rajasthan). One day when Baba Ji was deeply engrossed in meditation they received a message asking him to preach the principles of Sikhism and go to a deserted and barren place at a distance of 4 to 5 miles in the eastern direction of their and to village and make the place a centre.

Baba ji went to this place which was then known as Ram Pur (Theh) where they did a great deal of deep meditation. Numerous Naam seekers and spiritual inquisitives began coming to Baba Ji who used to give them guidance. Weekly Naam Abhiaas Kamaaee Smagam began and thousands of men and women came in contact with Baba Ji to benefit from their darshan and gain spiritually.

Great Mahapurakhs like Sant Baba Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale 13th Mukhi Damdami Taksal and current Jathedar Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindrawale met and were deeply impressed by Baba Ji.

It was baba Ji's desire to see the entire “Khalsa Panth” in Chardi Kala and he meditated purely for this cause from Vaisakhi 1976 to Vaisakhi 1979 and did Ardaas. This was the time when emergency had been declared in India. Even in this crucial time Baba Ji joined hands with Sant Baba Kartar Singh Ji and other Sikh leaders to awaken the sangat by arranging religious processions, meetings and discussions. One such procession was started from Gurdwara Ram Pur Khera to commemorate 300 years of martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.

Baba Ji arranged for roads, bridges and buildings to be constructed. Khalsa Schools and colleges were given immense financial help, the poor students were given higher education to get good jobs. Free eye camps, free medical facilities were given to the needy. Even now with the co-operation of saadh sangat this practice is continued by Baba Ji’s successor Baba Sewa Singh Ji in which permanent allopathic and homeopathic clinics, centre for eye treatment having modern facilities, old age care home, keertan vidayala, training institute for Sikh preachers have been setup and providing free service.

Baba Ji dedicated their life to Guru Sahib and the Khalsa Panth. Even in the last days of their life they did not hesitate joining the Dharam Yudh Mocha in 1982. Though Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale tried to persuade Baba Ji not to go to the jail due to their old age and unsound health, they along with thousands of their followers went to the jail and helped the morcha financially.

While in jail Baba Ji baptised many Sikhs. Ultimately, due to the harsh jail conditions, Baba Ji’s physical condition worsened and although he was given expert medical treatment, and under the Hukam of Akaal Purakh, breathed their last on 4th January 1983 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. They were honoured as a “Shaheed” at their Dusehra (Antim Ardaass).

    • the whole 'your husband/wife is chosen for you'/sanjog thing is real, it's just that a lot of people end up marrying the wrong person. they did not end up with the person that was meant for them. my friend, you should marry someone who you feel a connection with and love. there are millions of sikh girls, i'm sure you can find someone who aligns with your sensibilities and who you can truthfully say that you love. sikhi does not say anything against love marriages. you can also be in a loveless arranged marriage which is a safe option b/c both families are more inclined to keep the union intact. i was one of those people who was like meh, i guess i'll just get arranged to some sikh. well i finally started dating for the first time this year and i'm getting married to someone that i love and cannot even imagine leaving. i think it's better to have lost & lost than never loved at all. unfortunately, a lot of people confuse love w/ looks & lust. a lot of men go for the fittest girl they can find and think they won the jackpot or something. in reality, your partner should be like an extremely loved best friend. there's a reason why it's a fact that the most stable and long-lasting relationships started as friendships.  i also think a lot of women are petty and divorce over small reasons, but there's other terrible things like high cheating rates as well. that's why the divorce rate in the west is high. be careful out there.
    • andrew tate praises sikhi too & likes sikhs. his brother also donated to sikh families iirc. they just like any "alpha" religion and tbh islam is the most "alpha" in their eyes. islam is very good at promoting that image. but imo a real alpha man doesn't command respect by beating up his wive(s) or forcing them to wear a burqa. a real man will have his woman listen to him w/o raising a hand or his voice, and command respect by being respectful. he leads by example and integrity. that's true masculinity. you get the idea. + yes, it's definitely true that islam is growing rapidly and making massive inroads. strength in numbers + belief will do that. but rlly it's just because of the birth rate. a lot of them are muslim b/c it's their "identity" just like how a lot of young sikhs will say they're "culturally sikh" or whatever. there just aren't billions of sikhs who lambast their identity everywhere and have strict and linear rules like in islam. besides, the reality is that islam and its followers are some of the most morally bankrupt. you can see all the weird trans rules in iran, bacche baazi in afghanistan, visiting brothels, watching p*rn, p*dophilia what goes on behind the scenes in countries like uae & qatar, etc, and come to your conclusions. you can google all the stats yourself and see which countries do the most of these ^.
    • stop associating with hinduism, that's the absolutely worst thing you can do as a sikh. not sure if you noticed but the entire world looks down upon and spits at india & hindus, literally no one respects them and considers them weak and cowardly. literally 1+ billion of them but not perceived as a strong religion commandeering respect.
    • you wrote a whole lot but told us nothing. what exactly did you do wrong to make you feel this way?
