I've just been told there is going to be a tournament in Bakersfield on February 16th-17th.

I don't play I'm just spreading the word.

Baba Fateh Singh Football Club proudly announces that we have a great soccer team of our community in Fremont area which consists of experienced, disciplined and dedicated players. We are very proud of the name of our club, which is the name of the youngest Sahib-Zada of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. We practice every Saturday and Sunday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Elizabeth Park Soccer grounds on Stevenson Blvd. We have hired a soccer coach, who can train the young players.

Now we are looking for some more soccer players and coaches. All those who have experience in this field as a soccer player or as a coach are welcome. All young players above 17 years of age willing to learn and dedicated to be team players, can contact the following phone numbers.

That's a very good question, something that never crossed my mind. It doesn't say anything in the flyer but I've drove by when they've been practicing before and have only seen male's playing. I could ask if girls are welcome as well. Will ring tommorow.

Great news! We need to put sikh/punjabi youths into sports. Being fit (healthy) is part of our culture.

Personally speaking, I wished there was sikh men's soccer league here in Canada. :s

I'm pretty sure they have such leagues in BC, probably in Ontario as well but definetly in BC. The competition is much better in Canada, although a few times teams have come down and not been so succesfull but that might have something to do with the blazing summer heat that they aren't used to :s

Same goes for the Englandis. If apne took a team out there they would get blown out like 10-0 but if the UK Sikhs came here to play they wouldn't last 5 minutes in places like Fresno and Bakersfield. Just messing.
