if someone has tattoos but wants to become amritdhari does he/she have to get them removed before taking amrit or isit ok to take amrit and not get any done after being baptised as its against maryada. Thanks

its very expensive to remove them, so is it ok to have them and take amrit as long as you get no more done after joining the khalsa

i personally dont think u shud trip too hard about it, as long is u dont plan on getting any afterwards

check with the panj just to make sure, ur usually supposed to come to the amrit sanchar perfectly pure, so that may be an issue

One can not necessarily 'undo' piercings, and the expense that you would put towards such things can go to a better cause. Use common sense and your pure judgement to overcome this issue. If the tatoos are offensive consider it...

I've got two tattoos on my arm, i had them before i took amrit and personally it wasnt even an issue for me, i did not think to mention it to my panj, ur tattoos are part of your past, i always try to make sure mine are respectfully covered.

Dont worry, it was waheguru who made u have the tattoos in the first place and it waheguru who is now blessing you with amrit di daat, enjoy and dont let such trivial things stress you out..................
