So we can't judge the group as a whole. And besides that, I think the panth as an entire group has fallen away from the Guru's teachings, we can see this from looking at the state of Sikhi in punjab. What right do they have to punish anyone?

Baba Biram Das Udasi is one of the mahan sants of Sikhi,

he was a maste fakir who was related to Guru Gobind Singh,

and he got his inner darshan.

Udasis are not 'sad', they are sadhus who renounce the world and spread

respect for Guru Granth Sahib amongst Hindus at the kumbh mela and at Hardwar,

they also do seva of giving Aryuvedic remedies to the poor,

Dasmesh Pita greatly respected the true Udasi holy men and they fought alongside him

and even accompanied him to Hazur Sahib, he gave Anandpur to an Udasi Sant when he left,

their dress allows them to freely mingle amongst Hindus

and especially yogis etc, they hold many debates on Vedant and such with them to

show the supremacy of Guru Nanak's way and in so doing bring many into Sikhi,

they are really Sikh ascetics and were sanctioned by Guru Nanak Sahib to carry out this parchar,

I will not write a lengthy reply to this thread as it is obvious people do not knwo abou the Udasis but have a bitter view or ignorance about them.

The Udasis were the original Sikh missionaries and sread the message of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji far and wide. Udasi Gurdwaras still exist today in Afganistan, Tibet Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and anywhere else that the corrupt SGPC cant get their hands on.

The Samparda was led with the approval of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. I know many in here doubt that but can i ask one thing. Could any being on the earth do anything against the wishes of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji? They could turn the kaba, stop a hurling rock melt the hearts of enemies, stop protestors in baghdad, convert poeple like kauda raksh and sajjan thag into saints but somehow could not make their son follow their wishes!!!!!!

Guru Ram Das Ji, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Guru Hargobind Ji and Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji paid their respects to Baba Sri Chand Ji and served him with veration and respect. Yet we speak about Baba Sri Chand Ji as if he was an apostate!!!!

Guru Hargobind Ji also gave their eldest son Baba Gurdatta Ji to the Udasi movement. They later had 4 disciples who set up the four main sites of Udasi missionary work and parchar.

The Udasis of today however have changed. Wth the creation of the SGPC they took all the Gurdwaras under their command even if it resorted to force. The only way some of the Udasis could keep hold of their deras and sampardaic history was to take on a hindu slanted approach to show they were not the sikhs the SGPC thought they could share a brotherhood with thus they did not lose their gurdwaras.

Many Udasis such as Mahant Narain Das and Narain Preetam Das of Sangalwara did much seva for the panth including the underground water system to the Ramdas Sarover to keep it as flowing water preventing it becoming stagnant. To this day Udasis such as Mahant Shantinand continue to spread the message of Sikhi.

Baba Laxman Das ji was not an Udasi but the Bedis of today proudly descend from him,

his lineage went on until the great Baba Sahib Singh Bedi and further until holy Baba Madhusudhan Singh ji

in the present day Baba Sarbjot Singh ji is the head of the Bedi Family at Una Sahib and has successfully ventured into the political spectrum, while there is also a little-known spiritual lineage called the Sahib Singh Bedi Sampardai which came from Baba Madhusudhan Singh ji through Baba Natha Singh ji of Ropar and continues today under Baba Karam Singh ji (Banur Sahib), the Sampardai is also more historically called the Laxman Das Sampardai, I have even read some old Asiatic Journals from the 1800's that mention this Sampardai as existing in Una Sahib and being descended from Sri Guru Nanak Sahib.

ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪੁਤਰਾਂ (ਬਾਬਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਤੇ ਲਖਮੀਦਾਸ) ਨੂੰ ਪਿਤਾ-ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਆਕੀ, ਖੋਟੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ, ਗੁਰਬਚਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਭਗੌੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਧਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਛੱਟ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂਦਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਗੁਰਿਆਈ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਪੁਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਭਾਈ ਲਹਿਣਾ ਜੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ) ਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਹੋਈ। ਉਸ ਗੁਰਵਾਕ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਤੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸਟੀਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਹਨ:ਸਚੁ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ, ਕਿਉ ਏਦੂ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਹਟੀਐ॥ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੀ ਕਉਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਲਿਓ, ਕਰਿ ਪੀਰਹੁ ਕੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮੁਰਟੀਐ॥ ਦਿਲਿ ਖੋਟੈ ਆਕੀ ਫਿਰਨਿ੍ਹ੍ਹ, ਬੰਨਿ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਭਾਰੁ ਉਚਾਇਨਿ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਛਟੀਐ॥ {ਪੰਨਾ ੯੬੭}

ਅਰਥ : — ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਕੀਤਾ, ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੰਨਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਂਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਚਨ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਲ ਪਿੱਠ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੀ ਮੋੜਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਜੋ ਖੋਟੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਕੀ ਹੋਏ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਧੰਧਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਛੱਟ ਦਾ ਭਾਰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਢਲੇ ਵਿਆਖਿਆਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਕ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਉਪਰੋਕਤ ਗੁਰਵਾਕ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਇਉਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ:

ਫਿਰਿ ਬਾਬਾ ਆਇਆ ਕਰਤਾਰਪੁਰਿ, ਭੇਖੁ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਸਗਲ ਉਤਾਰਾ॥ ਪਹਿਰਿ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਕਪੜੇ, ਮੰਜੀ ਬੈਠਿ ਕੀਆ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ॥ ਉਲਟੀ ਗੰਗ ਵਹਾਈਓਨਿ, ਗੁਰ ਅੰਗਦੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਉਪਰਿ ਧਾਰਾ॥ ਪੁਤਰੀ ਕਉਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਲਿਆ, ਮਨਿ ਖੋਟੇ ਆਕੀ ਨਸਿਆਰਾ॥ ੩੮॥ ੧॥

ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਈ ਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਇਸ ਪਉੜੀ ਦੇ ਅਰਥ ਇਉਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ:

ਫੇਰ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ) ਨੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਪੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਪਾਏ ਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਭੇਖ (ਸਰੀਰੋਂ) ਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਕਪੜੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਲੀਤੇ, ਮੰਜੀ (ਗੱਦੀ) ਉਪਰ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ (ਬਿਰਾਜਨਾ) ਕੀਤਾ। ਭਾਵ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਗੰਗਾ ਉਲਟੀ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਅੰਗਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਪੁਰ (ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਕੇ) ਧਾਰਿਆ (ਭਾਵ ਥਾਪਿਆ)। (ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ) ਪੁਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆਂ, ਖੋਟੇ ਮਨ, ਆਕੀ ਤੇ ਨਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ।

ਲੇਖਕ ਜੀ! ਕੀ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਪਰੋਕਤ ਗੁਰਵਾਕ ਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਖੇਚਲ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪੁਤਰਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਗਿਆਨੀ ਤੇ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਸਪੁਤਰ ਦੀ ਪਦਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ? ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਤਾਂ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਦੀ ਬਿੰਦੀ-ਸੰਤਾਨ ਬਾਬਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਤੇ ਲਖਮੀ ਦਾਸ ਲਈ ਕੇਵਲ ‘ਪੁੱਤਰ’ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ, ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਪਰਮ-ਸੇਵਕ ਭਾਈ ਲਹਿਣਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ‘ਸਪੁੱਤਰ’ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ, ਬਾਬੇ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਚਿਤ ੨੪ਵੀਂ ਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ੬ਵੀਂ ਤੇ ੭ਵੀਂ ਪਉੜੀ ਦੇ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੱਤ-ਰੂਪ ਬਚਨ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ: “ਬਾਬਾਣੈ ਘਰਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਲਹਿਣਾ” ਅਤੇ “ਪੁਤੁ ਸਪੁਤੁ ਬਾਬਾਣੇ ਲਹਣਾ”।

ਇਸ ਪੱਖੋਂ ਤੁਸੀ ਵੀ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਮਤ ਹੋਵੋਗੇ ਕਿ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਤੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀਕੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਛਲੀ ਸਦੀ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੀਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਭਾਈ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਭਾ ਦੀ ਲਿਖਤ ਮਹਾਨਕੋਸ਼ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਬਾਬਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਦਾ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ੧੫ ਅਸੂ ਸੰਮਤ ੧੬੬੯ (ਸੰਨ ੧੬੧੨) ਨੂੰ ਚੰਬੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਵੀ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਕੱਤਕ ਸੁਦੀ ੧੫ ਸੰਮਤ ੧੬੭੦ (ਸੰਨ ੧੬੧੩) ਨੂੰ ਪਿੰਡ ਡਰੌਲੀ ਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਫ਼ੀਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਇਆ। ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ, ਬਾਬਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਠੀਕ ੧੩ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਹੋਇਆ।ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਸੁਆਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਬਾਬਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਹੋਂਦ ਹੀ ਨਹੀ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਥਾਪਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸੱਚ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ? ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਗਿਣੀ-ਮਿਥੀ ਸਾਜਿਸ਼ ਤਹਿਤ ਬਿਪਰਵਾਦੀ ਰੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਸੂਰ੍ਯ (ਸੂਰਜ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼) ਗ੍ਰੰਥ `ਤੇ ਅਧਾਰਤ ਉਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਹ ਮਨੋਕਲਪਿਤ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਚਿਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਚਲਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਥਾਂ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਸੰਪਰਦਾ ਦਾ ਮੁਖੀ ਨੀਯਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਵਲੋਂ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਘੋੜਾ ਤੇ ਪੰਜ ਸੌ ਰੁਪੈ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਵੀ ਉਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਿੱਧ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਸੰਪਰਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ, ਭੇਟਾ ਜਾਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵਾ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਪੂਜਨੀਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਅਰਪਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀਕੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਹੋਵੇ। ਦੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਤੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਕਈ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਸਾਜਿਸ਼ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਦਿਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ “ਬਾਬਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਨੇ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਮੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਗੇ ਤੋਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਉਤਰਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ”। ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀਕੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਹਿਮਾਲੀਆ ਪਹਾੜ ਜਿੱਡਾ ਝੂਠ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ, ਕਮਾਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਗੱਪ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਝੂਠ ਦੇ ਇਤਨੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਟੱਪ ਗਏ ਹੋ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ, ਤਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਦਾ ਹਵਾਲਾ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਤੱਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਰਾ ਇਹ ਕੂੜ ਵੀ ਲਿਖ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ, ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਇੱਕ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਹਿਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਸੀ
