lowest of the low singhni
vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh If you really feel the need to drink then go ahead, but don't expect any of us here to give you the thumbs up. Your diagnosis must have been a huge shock, but ideally it should encourage you to make the most of the life you've been given rather than wasting it. Any of us could die at any given time from anything. Their are a few main points about drinking alcohol with respect to Sikhi. one is that alcohol is the perfect way to disgrace the Saroop Guru Ji has given us. It degrades your mind. It might relax you, but Sikhi has plenty of other ways to relax. And Sikhi's ways are more productive in a spritual way too. Sikhs get drunk on Naam, not liquor. And even if you're not a stage of doing Simran/Bhagti there are many more ways to relax without alcohol. Fourthly it's a great way to destroy your liver. (I don't think there is much of a difference between chronic alcoholism and occasional alcoholism, just that the occasional version leads to the chronic version and illustrates how addictive it can get.) Doctors might tell you it's safe to drink, but that's because they think you're any other guy off the street who goes to the pub several times in a week. But you're not. You're Guru Ji's Sikh, and your Guru tells you that even for healthy people it's a bad idea. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh

doctor_mani
Excessive alcohol consumption can affect your physical and mental health, your work, and your social and personal relationships. You are also more likely to find yourself in dangerous situations if you have been drinking a lot, as alcohol affects your judgement and you may do things that you would not consider doing when sober. For example, a recent report showed that a quarter of all young prisoners had been drinking when they committed their crime. Health risks associated with heavy drinking include: * liver disease (cirrhosis of the liver), * alcohol related anaemia and nutritional disease, * chronic calcifying pancreatitis, * heart muscle damage (cardiomyopathy), and * alcoholic dementia. Heavy drinking also increases the risk of high blood pressure, cerebral haemorrhage (stroke), coronary heart disease and heartbeat irregularities. People who drink large amounts of alcohol over long periods of time are also at much greater risk of liver damage. This may lead to alcoholic hepatitis and cirrhosis. Psychiatric disorders are also more common in people who drink more than 10 units a day. They include: * depression, * suicide and attempted suicide, * personality deterioration, * sexual problems, * delirium tremens (sudden and severe mental changes, such as seizures, following alcohol withdrawal), * hallucinations, and * memory loss.
Harjeet.Singh
Even just one glass, has a harmful effect on liver, and cuts off about 5 minutes of your life. And completely annihilates your soul. And it stops you thinking about waheguru, or thinking clear for that matter and it makes your nails go yellow and it makes you age quicker, and it tastes like <banned word filter activated>. Did you know if alcohol was invented today, it would be banned. It would be classed higher than class A drugs. The only reason they allow it here, is because they have been drinking for so long, it has become traditional, and many companies would collapse if alchol was banned. its also bad for growth and energy levels. Seriously just go on google and type in alcohols effect on humans or something, and you will see for yourself. The only benefits for alcohol, are very limited, say like if you went swimming and you got water, stuck in your ears, you can put alcohol in it, to absorb the water, only stupid things like this alcohol is good for. I think some people even use it on their skin, but im not sure if this is harmful, so you might be able to this, but drinking it is entirely different. In some countries hunders of years ago, alcohol use to be safer to drink that water, but now that is not the case.

GABROO KHALISTAN DAH
U will get addicted to it thats why its bad ... addiction to any thing in this world would affect ur addiction to god ... nasha is not the reason nor health is a reason ... as far as i think ... may be wrong !!! Duh, Drinking is wrong for Sikhs, Guru sahib has said so. It changes who you are, and what you are. it is an intoxicant that takes you away from being who u are. But for a non-sikh its not a problem, and to the people generlizing whats wrong and right for others...please don't its not your business.
