Khalistan In The Unpo

I know that in 1993, Khalistan was accepted as a full member of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO).

UNPO raises awareness of members internationally and allows UNPO members to participate in international dialogue. It also maintains close relations with the United Nations and the European Union, supporting participation of its Members in international forums. Through UNPO, Members have opportunities to present their cases to international bodies such as: the United Nations Human Rights Council, the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, and European Union institutions.

That sounds great, and we were members as Khalistan... However, looking through the UNPO website now - it seems Khalistan is no longer a member.

Does anyone know why?

I think this thing better ought not to be discussed. It will just show how idiotic our Sikhs have been... The reason was jealousy of fellow Sikhs...

so what happened? i thought khalistan was never part of it as many international organizations dont see sikhs as seperate from hindus because of the post-partition law in hindustan?

True that is what the UN told us they said how can Sikhs as for freedom when they already have freedom? We questioned what do you mean freedom ,UN said Sikhs(Hindus) are already free and they have India(Hindustan) so if Hindus(Sikhs) are free why do they want a seperate nation from their fellow Hindus, - he knew we was a seperate nation and all that but he was pointing to something in the Indian Constitution that Sikhs are catergorized as Hindus, and India uses this to shut up human rights groups and the UN by saying Sikhs are Hindus and Hindus already have freedom.

Khalistan was thrown out of the UNPO a few months after it joined, this happened through Indian Pressure and foolish pro Indian Sikhs within our own Gurdwareh's and Communities who called Khalistanis extremists and said they do not represent Sikhs.

Even Sindhis the Hindus in Pakistan are part of the UNPO but I guess they have the backing of the Hindu Govt of India .

This is what happened: Dr Gurmit Singh Aulakh got Khalistan admitted in the UNPO. The flag of Khalistan was also hoisted by him. Later, in jealousy, or government pressure, Dr. Jagjit Singh Chauhan and Simranjit Singh Mann wrote several letters against Dr. Aulakh, saying that he had no right to do so, etc, resulted in the removal of Khalistan from the UNPO. It was a member for a few months only.

Just read history of 1947 to now... And notice how divided we are! We are even more divided than the Muslims who have 73 sects and the Christians who have hundreds of sects...

Anyway of petitioning the decision and getting Khalistan back into UNPO?

Would definetly add clout to Punjab 2020 Referendum.

I have no expertise in this, but I'd look to how other groups achieved it for the formula and process.

It seems in the past Hindustan has claimed that constitutionally Sikhs are Hindu. However Guru Granth Sahib Ji clearly states otherwise and that would have to be asserted. Further backed by the evidence and history of human rights violations against the Sangat by Hindustan.
